Jasmine Coverfield, District 11 Female
To say that Jasmine was startled by the sudden violence done upon the table would be an understatement. She jerked back away from the career and glared at her back as she left. Sure, making allies made the later part of the Games harder. She already knew that, but the career had it all wrong in Jasmine's head. A lack of allies was a valid strategy as well, but what the career had just done was make, at least, a table full of direct enemies.
Jace may be first on your list, you're up high on mine, career, the coldness of the thought shocked her. She turned back to watch Lallek and Jace shake hands and looked away. She'd offered and had her hand taken by Rory, and wondered the significance of that. Her gaze settled on Femra and smiled. She liked the younger girl and, on impulse, reached out and tussled her hair.
"She's wrong, you know. We're stronger together an' all she's done is made solid enemies today. God, I wish I'd met y'all under different circumstances." She studied the group again, including the strangely silent Lallek for a moment as well, before turning her gaze to the man with the plan. At least the spoken plan.
"So, avoid the bloodbath, meet up somewhere north," she said in a quieter tone. No reason to broadcast the message to other tributes outside of their growing party. "Play it by ear from there?"
She could agree to that. She was no tactician, but could figure out that any plan made in detail here and now would fall to pieces the moment the countdown ended and they were let off their metal entry plates.

Rory Noland: District 7 Female Tribute
Rory clenches her hands into little tight fists. She's had enough. Rory hates bullies. And what Klo has said to Femra and the rest of them is crossing a line.
"Actually, it's ceder." Rory says, taking the knife out of the table. She places it causally down, running a hand over the table as if Rory is concerned Klo hurt it. She could fix this. Given the right tools. That is her old life. The daughter of the foreman, the tiny lumberjack.
"Klo showed her hand. A surprise attack is less surprising when you know it's coming." Rory finally says.
Rory eyes the boy from District 4 and nods. Her from of a greeting. Rory would have said more but Femra needed her. "Femra it's okay. She'll have to go through me to get to you. So if she gets the better of me you run like hell."
She looks between Jace and Lallek, with her gaze settling on Jace. "Jace, I'm still interested in hearing more of your plan. Whether or not you'd like to continue is up to you. I trust your judgement."

Jace Colton[/u]
"...That's pretty much the entirety of it. Grab what you can--what's close to you. Scatter. Get clear. Get north. Once we see who's...who makes it, we can decide on more strategy. Probably better to know what we will have to work with talent-wise before we make any definite plans."
Having someone be a lynchpin, and then end up being killed in the Blood Bath could kill them all in the end. This way was better. Easier.
And he will have kept his promise to his twin-brother that way. To grab his pack. To run. To not look back.
The 'being brave' part? That was probably the character flaw that would get him killed...or that would save him.
He'd just have to see.

Femra: District 8 Female
"Don't worry, I got your back, Jace." I said with a weak smile and a wink.
I watched as Lallek stalked over and shook hands with Jace. Another ally? Or did he just want Jace as his ally?

Rory Noland: District 7 Female Tribute
Rory nods. As pragmatic as she isn't, Rory understands. If she, or Jace, or both of them died in the essential bloodbath, where would that put their merry group of misfits and underdogs? Rory sighs, pushing that thought out of her mind. She has her heart set on making it to day 2.
"Its a good plan, Jace. A very good plan." Rory says. "So grab the gear, get out and get North... We have each others backs... And in the end, we make sure our deaths are quick and painless, and we take back our district items to our families... Ok... I just needed to say it out loud."

Jasmine Coverfield, District 11 Female[/u]
Jasmine nodded as well, leaning back in her seat, and lacing her fingers together over her abdomen. A good plan, well, as good as one could get given the inevitable chaos that would be the opening moments of the Games. And it felt... good to know someone, a small handful of someones, wouldn't be initially gunning for her. It wouldn't last, but for the moment she let a genuine and pretty smile creep up onto her face.
"I'm glad we're all agreed on it. Almost feels good," she said to no one in particular.

Femra: District 8 Female
"Sounds like a plan." I care for all of them so much. I'm an underdog, I get it. I'm just glad they care about me and won't let me die. Won't let me die alone at least.
That was enough for me.

It was times like this Lallek regretted not carrying his notebook, but Jace seemed to have understood his intent. Everything else was just fine print. Still he didn't want to leave the new found ally completely lost.
Once he is released from the handshake, Lallek raises his hand and covers his mouth shaking his head as he does so. He then points to himself and holds up four fingers. That should be enough information for Jace to find out who he was. The other talkers certainly would be easy to find. He knew all their names.
As a final motion to Jace, Lallek points to himself and then to his ally. This is followed by a making a talking sign with his hand and then pointing outside the cafeteria. Lallek could communicate fairly effectively but this one was tough. He hoped nothing too important was lost in translation. Once he is done though, there is little left for Lallek to do. He had made his ally and they could talk later, for now it was time to return to his training.
He strolls from the cafeteria, careful to look as a small and uneasy as he could.

Klo had enough with the peace keepers. She decided to return to the cafeteria escorted by the peace keepers. All the poorer tributes were still mingling. Klo spotted her district partner, silver hanging with the boy tribute from 2. She strided towards them and silver looked up. She was a couple feet away when 2 piped up "Nice job with the knife." She rolled her eyes. There was an empty seat beside silver so she sat down. She turned her head towards him and twisted her hair around her finger in a flirtatious way. "So what's the plan for the cornucopia?" She asked. "Thought you weren't a career." he wondered. "Oh forget that I would never leave you Silvy!" Klo exclaimed.
He chuckled. "I was having doubts... We'll see if I can trust you. After the knife fiasco its kind of hard for everyone to trust you." he glanced at the peace keepers and then quickly glanced back at her. She bit her lip. "So how bout dem knives," he said awkwardly. "I saw you practicing with them earlier." he struggled for a smile. "I'll see you at dinner." She whispered barely audible, not answering his question.

Jace Colton
Make it to Day 2. The Initial Bloodbath would be the big challenge, but if they made it to Day 2 he'll feel as if he's managed something impressive.
If he stayed alive at all, really, he'll have managed something impressive.
"So we agree." He blinks, and then looks to the Boy. The one from...District 4 who apparently couldn't talk. At least that was what he was getting from the makeshift sign language. And that...he wanted to talk alone at some point?
At least, he figured that's what it meant.
"Got it. I think." And he watched Lallek leave. They'd have to sit at a table next lunch together. Or catch each other during training. Either one.
Now to cover his other bases. Make himself be as 'desirable' and 'likeable' as he could manage in order to get sponsors.

Jasmine Coverfield, District 11 Female[/b]
Jasmine let her eyes drift over the lunchroom, almost idly. She took note of Lallek's leaving and Klo's reentry to the room. She followed the latter's course over to the career's table. No big surprise there. Jasmine let out a small huff, nodded toward the career table.
"Think she bit off more'n she could chew with her outburst earlier," she said, then thought and is now seeking help from others like her. She gave a little shake of her head, blew out a sigh and smiled at Femra. "Whatcha good at?"
Was it bright to try to get to know another tribute better? Probably not, but Jasmine was feeling friendly again, and she was among allies, even if the alliance was temporary.

Femra: District 8 Female
"Well, in district 8 we're based on textiles. So I am really good at sewing. I have great eyesight, because I need it to get the thread in the very small holes on the needle. That might go to my advantage in the Games. I'm also relatively good at naming edible and poisonous plants. How about you, Jasmine?"
I wasn't bragging. I'm just not that type of girl.
"Jace, we'll all make it if we work together. Be positive." I said with a reassuring smile.

Rowan stood and returned to the table, taking a seat near Jace.
"District 4 females are in." She stated. "Pearl and Rachel. They say Lallek's been training on their own; they're not even sure if he'll ally with them. Pearl mentioned she'll likely take a weapon class in training...and Rachel said she'll be checking out the survival stations.
I already hit the firemaking station. Debating where to go next..."

Jasmine Coverfield, District 11 Female[/u]
Jasmine listened attentively, watching Femra as she spoke. Her eyes drifted over to Jace as the girl mentioned his name, then back to Femra before answering in turn. Jasmine didn't consider herself particularly adept at anything really useful in the Games. At least Femra's survival instinct and knowledge for plants would help her out.
Jasmine could climb.
"Well... My family was among those who pick fruit from the orchards in District 11. My pin's not all tha' indicative of what we do, at least not now. Maybe a generation ago, well 'fore I was born we threshed wheat," she said, slowing as she realized she was rambling. "I'm really good a climbing, an' since I'm relatively light, I can get up higher in the trees than th' bigger guys I work with. Not sure how useful it'd be, though. And I'm a decent shot with an apple, but... Unless the Arena is nothin' but orchard trees, my skill-set ain't too sharp."
She leaned toward the table and picked a discarded spoon up. "Though, I do have quick fingers..." And set to twirling the spoon between her nimble fingers, to her other hand and with a flourish, made the spoon disappear. Though anyone with a particularly keen eye would see she'd slid it up her sleeve.
She produced the spoon again in a similar flourish of movement. "Not sure how useful tha'll be though."

Femra: District 8 Female
"Jasmine, your climbing will help all of us. Don't underestimate your skills in the Arena." I said with a shiver after the word "arena."
I was still awestruck at how real this is. Never in a million years did I think of myself being a tribute for the textile district I live in. I don't see why the Capitol is so intent on this inhumane way of showing the districts who's boss. Trust me, we've learned our lesson.
I stared in disbelief as the spoon disappeared, but soon reappeared.
"You have to teach me how to do that!" I stated with a little bit of a childish tone.

Jace Colton[/u]
My family always said I wore my heart on my sleeve where everyone could see it. In this instance, it could very well get me killed. So I'd have to talk to Lyme. See if she knew how I could not show people how terrified I am.
Maybe I could even pull off being excited about this.
All this attention? For me? The fourth of six kids who was so often overlooked?
When in reality I just desperately want to go home.
"We thresh grain, back home. And pick strawberries. And blueberries. And grapes. Make wine and beer....my oldest brother Kal just got a job at the brewery." Which meant more money for the family. The brewery paid well, and Kal was smart. He'd make it work.
Even if I didn't come back, they wouldn't starve anymore.
"My family works in the fields for the most part though." Made me wonder if Jan was able to work. I'm not seeing how.
....I'm good with a scythe. Made me wonder if they had one in training. They were dangerous to grain.
They were dangerous to people.
