The mentors had retired to work on their strategies for their tributes. The day of the Blood Bath, every single mentor filed into the sponsors hall. The restaurant was spacious, allowing for the mentors to spread out. The gap between districts 1 and two and Priya and Bran stretched the entire restaurant, with Bran and Priya taking a booth under one screen on the east wall. Districts two and one took a booth on the west wall.
As the Games began, the mood in the restaurant swung wildly depending on who you were watching. With each blow, someone winced and someone cheered. Mask, the woman hidden behind the elaborately painted and bejeweled mask, moved from table to table, distributing sponsor boards for pledges to be made...
The sponsorship boards:
District 1 Idona Naine ~ 5,000 Raulyn Saguna ~ 1,000 Mello Guidolotti ~ 1,000 -- 7, 000
District 2 Mel ~ 5,000 Chrystyne ~ 4,000
--- 9,000
District 3 Bailey Julien Monchy ~500 Karrigan Silke ~ 1,500 --- 2,000
District 4 Coral Gebun Tarus ~500 Surfe Tides ~ 500 -- 1,000
District 5 Olinda 500 credits
District 6
District 7 Royce ~ 1,000 Karrigan ~ 10,000 --- 11,000
District 8 Karrigan Silke ~ 3,500 Amarisa Rain ~ 1,000 (after the acid rain) --- 4,500
District 9 Karrigan Silke ~ 500 credits Olinda ~ 500 credits Enoka ~ 500 credits (after the factory) --- 1,500
District 10 Efaile Leone ~ 600 credits (after the acid rain)
District 11 Mel 1,000
District 12 Jane ~ 500 credits Kable ~ 500 credits --- 1,000

With the Games now underway, Tank and Conrad were now both free from helping Felix and Sassinak prepare to join the others in the Sponsor Hall. The usually stoic giant known to his friends as Tank was currently serving as the Seven's eyes and ears as he listened in on the surrounding conversations and tables to get any information that could help them or their young charges in the Arena.
Meanwhile Conrad was attempting to defend them on another front...
"See, despite her current injury Sassinak can still hold her own in the Arena. District Seven aren't out of the running just yet." Conrad's pleas fell on deaf ears as the two women scoffed and turned away, causing the 25th Victor to frown as he made his way back to the Sponsor Table. Damn that blasted Career...
"I think we need to start calling in any favors we're owed... must be something we can do for Felix to compensate for his eyes." Conrad muttered to his fellow mentors. "I'm struggling to get anywhere on the sponsor front."

Jasmine Coverfield, District 11 Mentor, HG25 Victor Jasmine sat with the other District 11 mentors in the restaurant. She felt sickened at just the thought of food during this bloody spectacle. She'd never eaten during any of the other games and had only managed to not vomit when Nomad's had started because she needed to be strong for her family. Now she needed to be strong for her tributes. She let her eyes flick to different screens, each portraying a different angle of the ensuing bloodbath. She took deep breaths as Brass cut a bloody swath toward D7. She shook her head, eyes seeking her friends from District 7. She felt her tributes, as Galen snuck quietly away and Bogart brashly sided with Brass, would survive this. But as Brass took Sassinak's arm off and Felix's eyes out, she wasn't so certain that the same could be said for her friend's tributes. She stood up and moved among the Sponsor tables, careful to keep out of their line of sight of the screens. She stopped behind Mel. "See 'ow my boy Bogart's handlin' 'imself inna the arena? Worth 'couple sponsor gifts, don'tcha think? An' Galen's sure to come back an' s'prise us all. Think on it." She didn't wait for an answer. Mel just happened to be on her way to District 7's table, and she hoped it didn't hurt her tributes that she was going to an 'enemy' table. She crouched down by Conrad and whispered. "'O'ever's friendly to yer district... have 'em send Felix onna those cattle prod beepers tha' they sent Klo las' year. Oughta help 'least a li'l."Jasmine Coverfield rolled 5 dice to "Mani+Persua+Sex Appeal (Striking looks)" 3,1,6,10,5,5 (1 successes)

Mask, the beautiful masked woman, paused behind Jasmine and Conrad. "You should speak to Kelso." She stated quietly to Conrad. "He is a fine engineer. For one game, when a boy lost an arm, he engineered a device that would fire javelins with a pull from the good hand. He makes tree stands as well... could likely make a mobility device for Felix."
The girl moved to another table, pouring Mel a drink.
"Bogart's no coward. Think he's figured out those sevens aren't easily put down and went to lend a hand..." Mel stated to the pretty female sponsor at his table. He accepted a sponsor board from Mask and recorded 1,000 credits for district 11. It should be noted, however, that he had already pledged a total of 5,000 credits to district two.
"Did you see how Lacey knocked that boy out?" Karrigan was praising. "Even with her grievous wound." She wrote 1,000 credits to district 8 with a flourish.
Lyme threw Karrigan a dark look and stood, moving around the crowd. She saw Tank and gave him a nod as she passed him by, searching out someone praising Jan.
Karrigan caught sight of district seven and stood, moving over to take a seat beside Conrad. "I don't doubt your tributes' determination." Karrigan confided to the sevens. "What do you think their plan is?"

Aurora Nolan: Co-Victor of the 25th Hunger Games (District 7 Volunteer), “The Girl Who Dared to Hope”
Aurora had been watching the screens in muted horror. Sassinak's arm. Then Felix's eyes. Her only solace, as sick it was to admit, was that Brass was no blinded too. Still, she stood there, one arm folded across her stomach, the other resting on it as she held one hand over her month.
When Conrad spoke she looked at him her eyes shining with tears she wouldn't shed with all of these prying eyes. She only nodded, carefully blinked them away. This is all my fault. The voice in the back her of her mind sounded. Your pride did this...
“We're all new mentors, Conrad. We don't know anyone,” Aurora said, quietly. She didn't trust her voice to speak any louder.
“Thank you, Jasmine. We need to talk again later. I have plans for next years' games.” Rory told her friend with a polite nod. For the first time since their games, she couldn't go to her rock for comfort. Rory would have to go through this alone.
What would I do?... Rory thought when Karrigan approached them. She looked at Tank and Rowan. Then met the sponsor's gaze. I'd want to keep my people safe and rested.
“If they learned from last year than perhaps they'll try to secure the factory and hold up there.” Rory threw a look at Rowan. “I kinda wish our cave had a gate that locked.”
She smiled at Karrigan. “May we talk for a moment? We had a plan but it will require some help. And secrecy.”
Rory Noland rolled 6 dice to "Man+Per+Will" 5,10,9,6,10,6,8,3 (4 successes)

"No I meant..." Conrad's clarification to Rory was cut off as Mask gave Conrad the most valuable piece of information he was likely to hear all day.
"Kelso?" Conrad repeated, making sure he had heard correctly. "Thank you Mask, I'll get in touch at once."
------
Across the room as Lyme acknowledged Tank's presence, he smiled and nodded politely to her before returning his undivided attention to the sponsor he was talking to. They needed pledges to aid their charges and Tank was currently running with an unusual strategy to do so.
"Granted, the Sevens have a disadvantage at present, but think how much prestige you would have for being the sponsor directly responsible for putting them back in first place to win the Games..."
------
"Apple and my father might have some weight we can use... I'll get hold of them and see what we can pull together. I'll check out Kelso and see what we might be able to do for Sassinak and Felix too while I'm at it."
Conrad broke off as Karrigan greeted and joined them at the District Seven table. Leaving would have to wait until after Karrigan was done asking questions - they needed every pledge they could get.
"I concur, holing up in the factory is their best bet for the time being while they work on the next stage of their plan." Whatever that is.

Jasmine Coverfield, District 11 Mentor, HG25 Victor Jasmine lightly placed her hand on Rory's shoulder and squeezed. "Send meh a note an' w'can talk somewhere private 'way from the blood here," she said quietly. She forced a weak smile to her friend. It wasn't Jasmine's tributes up on the screens, bleeding and maimed. Both of her tributes had escaped the bloodbath without a scratch. She straightened, letting her dress show off everything she had and walked back to her table to fill out a gift request for Bogart. She'd visit the armory to add her own note afterward. Jasmine's ordering a nice set of armor, complete with eye-gear for Bogart. She'll include the note I mentioned, Anne.

District 5 Harmony was holding court with three raven haired beuaties. They were Capitol born, with porcelian white skin, amber colored eyes - clearly Capitol enhanced - and dark brown hair. The slim woman wore a gown of emerald, the other two wore blouses of crimson and black tailored pants.
Harmony's voice carried a bit: "Look how my tribute boldly defends the district seven. See how she taunts Bogart; not afraid at all. I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back for her and she turns the tables around on him." One of the women said something quietly and Harmony gestured to the television screen showing the factory. She could be heard saying something about 'fence'. The three women are nodding approvingly, fondling pens as they survey the sponsor boards. Harmony guages her sponsors, deciding whether to push for the hard sell.
District 8 Hiram, the district 8 mentor, moved around the room, glancing over towards Karrigan. He paused to speak to a blonde, tall man named Tomas. He gestured to the footage of the Blood bath that was being replayed on a highlight reel. The highlight reel showed every blow, every bloody reaction. It also featured when some tributes left, such as Galen's departure; clutching only a small black bag that didn't look like a weapon. "Look at Lacey's leadership," Hiram encouraged. "- directing her partner to lead her alliance to safety while she battled Jan alone. Knocked him flat, as well." "She looks very injured." Tomas noted with a frown. "Indeed, she is." Hiram agreed. "She paid for her sacrifice. You could be the man to save her with medicine, the man to place district eights' alliance in the lead." "What does her alliance involve?" "She and Cotton are the most martial," Hiram explained. "- yet they have two intelligent, clever tributes with them. Lacey and Cotton defend these tributes, who intend to help Lacey and Cotton survive the arena."
District 7
"Mask," Karrigan beckoned Mask to the table. "- can we be directed to a private room?" Karrigan is respectful and polite in her request. Mask inclines her head and gestures for the group to follow her through an oak door. A round wooden table with six chairs is present. There is one television screen here playing the highlight reel.
Mask returns and pours sweet tea for the group, pausing by the door to see if she is needed.
Karrigan took a seat and sipped sweet tea, looking at Rory, Rowan and Conrad expectantly.
Tank notes three men, finely dressed and wearing ornate - fake - replicas of weapons from the Hunger Games #25. They are gesturing towards the screens excitedly, apparently arguing over whether Sassinak, Felix or Brass were worse off.
District 2
"You see how Brass decimated the sevens." Livia said simply to a well dressed man sitting at the Career table. The man nods agreeably and states something that Silver agrees to, smiling. The man's companion, a silver haired matron, stated something sharply that caused a shadow to cross Silver's face.
Livia inserted herself smoothly, stating something quietly and calmly. The matron glanced to her younger companion, considering.
The room was buzzing with activity. It ranged from side bets on who was worse off and who was going to die next, to would be sponsors eyeing the roving mentors with excitement or nervousness. Conrad and Jasmine noted three tables of two couples apiece. One table was arguing and gesturing towards the factory screen. The second couple was smiling and having a good time, watching the Blood Bath wealth being distributed. The third couple was anxiously watching Lacey's alliance streak through the ruined city.

Conrad beckoned Tank over, the large male lumbering his way through the crowd to reach the table they were stood by.
"Tank, I need you to track down an engineer named Kelso, ask about prices for any mechanical designs that might be beneficial to Felix or Sassinak." Conrad exchanged the information quietly, relying on the hustle and bustle around them to prevent anyone else listening in.
Tank nodded to signal that he understood and made his way to the exit. With Turning back to Karrigan with a smile, Conrad took a seat at the table to listen to what the lady had to discuss with them.

As Mask had directed them to a private room, Tank and Conrad were not overheard. Tank departed and after a quick conversation with Barren, the barrel - chested bartender at the Sponsor hall, Tank learned some new information on Kelso. He learned that the engineer did brisk business at his shop which was directly across the street from the Sponsor Hall. He also learned Kelso had a work shop in the residential district where the man worked on innovative designs not available to the public. Would a tried and true design be Tank's first stop or would he like to see the new designs?

Tank thought for a few moments, then headed for the Engineer's Shop across the street from the Sponsor Hall. While he had some knowledge of Kelso's reputation and had heard second-hand accounts about his products, Felix and Sassinak needed something they could rely on at this point. It probably wouldn't hurt to ask about his private innovations, but for now Tank needed guarantees. The innovative stuff was more than likely higher in price as well...
Within minutes Tank was outside the shop door, pushing it open with a firm hand as he stepped inside.

Aurora Nolan: Co-Victor of the 25th Hunger Games (District 7 Volunteer), “The Girl Who Dared to Hope” Before Tank left, Rory asked him for a favor discretely. “Tank, ask Kelso if he’s taking any students as well and how much it would be for lessons” The wheel was always turning for the young victor. Aurora would do anything she could for her tributes, her district, and her secret desire to rebel. If there was still a Resistance they’d need to be outfitted for battle. Rory was just one girl. But if her time in the Arena taught her anything it was that sometimes one person can mean all of the difference. She walked into the private room, just after Karrigan, taking a seat opposite of her. “Thank you so very much for meeting with us. I know you are a very busy woman and your time is very precious to you.
“We called you here because we need your help. You see we have an agreement with a crafter named, Kelso. He’s going to outfit our people with some of his lastest designs. But we need our tributes to live long enough for that to happen.
“This why I asked for secrecy. Even if you decline to help us, I don’t want Kelso’s designs for District Seven to get out. But if you do decide to help us, I can only guess the exposure you’ll receive because of it. Kelso is a brilliant crafter. I hoped to one day become like him, if he decides to take me on as one of his students.”Rory hoped the lie worked. Rory Noland rolled 5 dice to "Lying + Will" 5,10,10,4,10,6,1,6 (3 successes)

Karrigan took a sip of sweet tea, using the time to think. There was a stretch of silence. "Designs that will overcome their injuries?" Karrigan inquired. "I see that Sassinak shot Brass before she was wounded. I would think that she had trained as an archer, not a chakram bearer. Then there's Felix. Blind and now unable to walk without help.
I see Sassinak and Felix are aided by district 5, who are both smaller in stature. Boomer fled the fighting and while Lily did bravely wound Brass, I feel seven is dependent on them at the moment. If I support your district, would these designs make them self sufficient?"

Aurora nodded at Karriagan's first question. “Yes. Enough that it could be quite possible they could win. Or make it farther than most would suspect.”
She frowned when the sponsor said self-sufficient. How could Rory promise that? Even with Kelso's help, there was no way of knowing Felix won't need assistance. “If not it will help them along the way to becoming so. Felix and Sassinak have another plan they only shared with me. I don't feel comfortable giving away the details until I know it works.
“But you saw Sassinak. There's more going on than just a missing hand. She needs medicine or that wound will become infected. The deal with Kelso is already done. What we need now is money for medicine and food. We need help keeping them alive just a little while longer.”

Karrigan ran her finger along the rim of her glass, listening to the slightly annoying sound as she considered Rory's argument. "I assume that you'll need some funding to purchase Kelso's design." Karrigan ventured. "Are you considering one for Felix and one for Sassinak?" Karrigan tilted her head. "Then there's the medicine that Sassinak will need. Clearly, district seven will need an investment. Now you won't share the design.. and understandably, secret plans can't be shared with sponsors..."
Karrigan motioned for Mask, who brought over a sponsor board and pen. "Now Sassinak needs medicine; that I'd like to supply due to the surprising twist of her blinding Brass one - handed. I'd be interested in seeing the designs in the games. How much would the designs cost?"
In the main room, Lyme pulled a paper wrapped package from her jacket. She approached the arguing couple and signaled the young man. He departed the table and she called him by name, stepping over to another booth. The young girl surveyed the screen, smiling as it zoomed in on Isolde's wounded shoulder. At the new booth, Lyme set the paper wrapped package on the table. The young man opened the package that revealed a delicate necklace. Lyme leaned over and overturned the sculpted leaf. Her signature had been carved underneath the leaf.
"A one of a kind gift for the young lady." Lyme revealed. "It should make her sweet on you again. " Lyme's tone was sweet, a cupid working her magic. "Who does that lady favor?"
"She's been arguing for that twelve." Jack revealed. "But I like Jan. He's just prime to win, right? His brother came so close. But she likes the sassy girl with the cigars, of all-" "No need to argue," Lyme said smoothly. "- after all, twelve and nine are allied. Even their district mates get along. Now, go give your sweetie this one of a kind necklace. It will light her eyes right up. Then if you propose supporting Jan and she wants to support Ember, be sure to call me and Hiram over. I'm sure she'd love the treat of meeting the designer of her necklace..."
Jack tucked the necklace into his pocket and hurried off to the girl. She was eagerly watching Ember and Brass on the screen.

Karrigan toyed with the sponsor board, making her decision... Tank found himself in a large room lined with all sorts of contraptions. He first crossed a chair bolted to large wheels with handles. "A wheel chair." A blonde girl of around sixteen moved to shake Tank's hand. "Hello. This is my grandfather's shop. Welcome, Tank." She clearly recognized Tank from his Games. "My name is Rivet Kelso. Are you looking for anything in particular?" As Tank looked around, he spotted several contraptions with chairs that looked interesting. One was a tree stand that was completely mobile through using ones' arms. There was a hiking chair where one could carry someone atop ones' back. Then there was an odd device with a chair perched atop of four metal legs that looked like a horses' legs. Seeing his interest, Rivet pressed the joystick on the arm of the chair. The chair lifted from the floor, circling the room on its 'legs'. "There are a few devices for arms..." Rivet pointed to the fair wall, where several arm prosthetics dominated. One clearly had a javelin attached.
In the main room, Lyme, Sorrel and Harmony were talking with the three couples. The room was riveted from four screens - the Blood Bath, the Factory, the Ruined City and the Jungle. The acid rain was wounding every one and causing people to run forward. Two people in the jungle collapsed, crawling into a darkened area. People watched eagerly; wondering if mutations would move in or if they would perish from their injuries. Lacey, Cotton & Bailey As the careers and team bada** raced to the horn, Lacey was commanding her alliance through the ruined city. "Cotton, get Bailey." She demanded. "We're moving out." "Where's Roger-" Bailey wondered, but Lacey brushed by her. "Lacey, your face-" Shock bloomed over the girls' face, but Cotton swept her into his arms. She was light; holding only her blowgun case. The three crashed through the undergrowth, moving into the city proper. Lacey led the way onto porches, swearing when the acid ate holes through the roofs. She drove them on, ignoring the stings on her arm, commanding Cotton to stay with her.
She spotted a gray wall underneath a cluster of palm trees. Frowning; she rushed to it, but found only one smooth wall. The building was camoflaudged with trees and rocks, so that Lacey could not detect a door. "Put me down." Bailey insisted, desperation tinging her voice. Bailey moved to the hatch that Lacey hadn't noticed, opening it to reveal a keypad. Lacey's fingers flew over the pad and within moments, a black shadow opened around a 'rock'.
Cotton slammed the hatch door shut and pushed the girls through the shadow, collapsing in after them. The three were lying on a flat floor in darkness. As Bailey and Cotton straightened, a motion sensing light flickered on above thier heads. Lacey had collapsing on the floor, breathing heavily. Her cheek had started bleeding again. Cotton leaned out to close the door when he noted two white parachutes floating near them. He snatched the parachutes, hissing as a bite of acid hit his arm. Cotton slammed the door shut, thrusting the chutes towards Bailey. Bailey began picking through them as Cotton sank down to the floor, recovering from carrying Bailey through the city.
"First aid kit, water conteens and..." Bailey picked up a long tube. She opened it to reveal a +3 staff. " - a gift for Lacey."
Cotton took a canteen, taking a drink before leaning over Lacey. "She's not good." "I'm fine. " Lacey protested. Lacey's cheek had been cut an inch below her eye and ran down her cheek bone; stopping an inch from her lips. Bailey leaned in besides Cotton, shaking her head. Cotton pressed the canteen to Lacey's lips, forcing her to drink. He gently lifted Lacey, placing her back against his chest. He had her hold the canteen, encouraging her to keep drinking. Bailey opened the first aid kit, pulling on a pair of latex gloves. Bailey splashed disinfectant over her gloved hands and dampened cloth with the disinfectant, leaning over Lacey. She gingerly cleaned the Lacey's cheek as Lacey twitched with pain, protesting every move. The cut was deep. Bailey hissed through her teeth as she gently probed Lacey's cheek with a pair of forceps, ensuring no dirt had fallen in the cut. After removing a stray leaf that had drifted in during the run, Bailey picked up the suture kit. It was painful viewing watching the young girl carefully stitch her friends' cheek. Lacey tried to be brave, but silent tears trailed down her cheeks. Those watching in the hall watched silently for nearly fifteen minutes as Bailey applied gel over the cut and gave Lacey two pills to take.
"We need medicine." Bailey said to Cotton as Lacey went limp in Cotton's arms, drifting into a pain induced faint. "Its clean; but its going to become infected. She ran through that rain; diety knows all the contaigons in this city..."
"Focus on what we can control." Cotton interupted, dabbing Bailey's cheek with an iodine swab. Bailey stood, moving around the room. Awe was taking over her face, looking at the clean tile floors, the thick walls and the television screens displaying the hatch that they had entered through and a grassy area. Bailey took a seat on one of the two computer chairs, inspecting the controls. She read a laminate over the computer keyboard.
"The watch tower." Interest sparked in her eyes as she began scanning the screens. "The factory." She read a caption; looking at the factory that the careers and team bada** was converging on. "Oh, ****." She beckoned Cotton over. Cotton spread a blanket over the sleeping Bailey and took a seat besides Lacey, watching the factory with growing anticipation.
Cotton rolled 4 dice to "l" 9,5,3,2 (1 successes) Lacey rolled 7 dice to "Outrunning the rain [wp]" 10,8,2,3,10,7,6,4,5 (3 successes) Cotton rolled 7 dice to "Outrunning the rain [wp]" 7,9,5,8,5,5,4 (2 successes) Bailey rolled 10 dice to "Computer hacking watchtower [wp]" 2,7,3,7,5,7,5,4,9,9 (2 successes)

Tank shook Rivet's hand warmly, smiling pleasantly at her. So Kelso was known by his surname not a first name? Made a kind of sense.
"I'm definitely looking for a device to replace a lost left forearm and if possible, anything that could compensate for the loss of sight." Tank informed her after a few minutes, fascinated by the wide variety of devices on display and especially the "wheelchair" with legs that Rivet was nice enough to demonstrate in action.
The arm prosthetics on the wall caught his attention as Rivet pointed them out. The javelin one in particular was a stroke of genius, serving as both a short-range weapon as it was and also doubling as a long range weapon if you fired it off. That would certainly even the playing field for Sassinak.
"How much must these go for?" Tank wondered out loud, admiring the fine craftsmanship that had clearly gone into the making of the prosthetics.

"Loss of sight is tricky," Rivet stated, leading Tank into a side room. This room was specialized with headgear that slid over one's head although there were several pieces of what looked like armor. "- this is a favorite."
Rivet explained, lifting what looked to be a backpack. She turned it around to reveal a thin plastic web that would extend out of the back of the pack. "This senses movement by sending out barbs into nearby trees or environment. It senses movement the way a spiderweb transmits movement to the wearer. This -" She points to the shoulder strap. "-has some defensive maneuvers. This button sends electricity coursing down the net. We also have some motion sensing head wear and some walking sticks with offensive qualities."
In regards to the prosthetic, she replied. "It depends on time and labor. We have a grasping hand that goes for 500 credits. We also have some that have weapons that range in the thousands. Yet my grandfather normally is open to making deals. I know he'd be interested in helping with the Games."

Aurora Nolan: Co-Victor of the 25th Hunger Games (District 7 Volunteer), “The Girl Who Dared to Hope” Aurora shifted uncomfortably in her seat studying Karrigan. She wondered what would help their case; what could she tell this woman to convince her that Felix and Sassinak were worth investing in. “Thank you, Karrigan. That medicine won't go to waste,” Rory said. It was easier to lie when she started with the truth. She glanced at Conrad, then Rowan. “We have Tank speaking with Kelso finalizing our deal with him on the designs. The highest number we quoted was 5,000 each. But that was for some of his more advanced equipment.”Rory Noland rolled 5 dice to "Lying + Will" 9,7,3,4,6 (1 successes)

Tank debated over what Rivet had shown him and judged the relative helpfulness of each device with Felix and Sassinaks' injuries.
Given the nature of the Games and his companions, motion sensing wouldn't be that much of a boon if Felix couldn't work out who was the person moving around him... that could well lead to some serious mishaps. The grasping hand sounded like a solid normal deal to go for and frankly for the technology involved, was an unbelievably good price. The fact that Grandpa Kelso was open to making deals and interested in helping in the Games was another piece of valuable information in their favor.
"Someone told me that your grandfather also had a workshop where he worked on more... innovative designs not available to the public. I do apologize for my forwardness, but is it possible to arrange have a look at those as well?" Tank inquired politely.

Karrigan: with Rowan, Rory and Conrad
"I'd like to see what sort of devices these are... and how they could help Felix and Sassinak. I am hesitant to commit so much resources at this time. I feel for your tributes' plight; but I also have a girl from my native district in play. " Empathy shone in Karrigan's eyes. She continued rather business like.
"This is what I'll do today. I'll commit 10,000 credits - an amazing sum, isn't it? 2,000 for the medicine and eight thousand towards devices for Felix and Sassinak. I expect that they'll be amazing." A genuine smile here. "I'd like to see the smile wiped off Mel's face. I don't enjoy Brass' antics."
Karrigan was genuinely wiling to help; but a keen eye spots that she's holding something back.
In the main room, the couple had called Lyme over. She was speaking animatedly, leaving many openings for the young man to seem knowledgeable and impress his girl friend. The young man had called for two sponsor boards, yet Lyme was still doing her best to seal the deal. She knew Jan had his share of the wealth, but more credits would never go to waste.
In the corner, Dane was animated, chatting with a portly older man who was sipping a fruit drink. Dane was overheard commenting. "... can't forget how remarkable Cinder was. She put district twelve on the map. Now you take a child who watched that and put her in the Games..."
Harmony sat next to an older man in a fine suit, both snacking on fruit snacks. Harmony had brought up a scene of the factory - of Lily's lock picking skill and Boomer gathering components. "You can see my tributes possess a unique skill set..."
"I haven't actually seen it." The man refuted. "Lily can pick a lock, but how are these rooms going to improve her chances? How is the gear Boomer collecting going to put him ahead of the others?"

Aurora Nolan: Co-Victor of the 25th Hunger Games (District 7 Volunteer), “The Girl Who Dared to Hope”
By the time Karrigan was done Aurora's eyes were glassy, watering with tears she didn't dare to shed. Overwhelmed by even this show of kindness.
She nodded, slowly; not trusting her voice just yet. Not until Rory took a deep breath and let it out did she venture even an attempt.
“Thank you. Thank you so much, Karrigan.” Aurora said, wiping her eyes. She composed herself so she could say the next bit. “No one but district 2 and Mel approve of Brass' antics. The Careers I fought were honorable. They fought and died bravely. There is nothing upright about Brass' tactics. If he becomes a Victor then I fear for us all.”
She looked at her fellow mentors then to the sponsors. “Thank you again, Karrigan. Now, if you will excuse me I have to speak with Kelso again.”

"Of course." Karrigan inclined her head with understanding. "District seven has brought us memorable Games these last two years. Hopefully, they will do so again."

TankThe mountainous tribute pondered the question. "For Felix something to compensate for his lack of sight and aid his movement. I'd imagine Sassinak would be easier - we just need to replace her lost forearm with something... I was rather intrigued by the harpoon weapon you showed me but I wouldn't be doing my all for them if I didn't fully check out all the possible methods of help." Tank was open and honest - a method that had served him well over the years. If he didn't have anything positive to contribute, he usually stayed silent. Since becoming a mentor, he stayed silent a lot less than he used to, despite his dislike of the Games. ConradConrad Miles rolled 2 dice to "Wits + Empathy" 4,8 (1 success) Conrad nodded understandingly. "That only serves to make your donation that much more generous and you have our most heartfelt gratitude." The gratefulness was noticeable in Conrad's voice; the gesture made by Karrigan gave hope of a fighting chance to Felix and Sassinak. Conrad wasn't so choked up though that he failed to notice... there was something in Karrigan's face but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Her words however had given him a good idea of what might be a good enough way to get her to show what she was holding back. "I agree, Brass does need putting in his place for what he's done." The male wrote six words on the sheet of paper in his lap and passed it to Rory under the table. K holding back. Offer 7/8 pact?
