Lush green grass rolls over high mountains and low valleys. A strange artifact could provide shelter and treasure: this towering ship stands as tall as several full grown men, constructed of wood that has a large gash in the side for easy access. Plentiful brightly colored sea grass and kelp forests line the edges of the peninsula, ripe with fish and sea mammals. The sea surrounds three sides of the peninsula and is easily accessed by walking out into the wake. The Peninsula is the farthest point from Islands 1 and 2.

Caleb sprinted, his long legs carrying him quickly along the beach. Quickly until he felt Liv lag behind him, that is. He slowed. He wasn't leaving her... In one smooth movement he thrust his bow into her hand and hefted her into his arms before taking off in a dead sprint after the others. He held her tight, arms aching with the strain of the long run to the peninsula. But it was worth it... his time with the weights was paying off. As they neared the lush, green slopes of the peninsula, he slowed to a walk, then stopped entirely. Only then did he let Liv down, his arms sliding around her shoulders as he pulled her close to him. If the birds had decided that they wanted to come for the big alliance instead of the careers... They might have swooped on he and Liv. He bent his head and lightly kissed her sweaty forehead. In that moment, everything else faded away. For a moment, it was just him holding Liv in a green paradise. He kissed her again, a passionate kiss, full of want and longing, longing for her and their future together. As he drew away, slowly and reluctantly, he took his bow back from her and looked around. Lorne's description of this place as a paradise was accurate. It was a gorgeous locale and he realized that he would be okay proposing here. It would be the sort of location he would choose, willingly, if it weren't the Arena. And it would make for quite the spectacle. He slid his free hand down to take Liv's as he looked back to the tributes nearby. He knew the ship was the most appealing... But it likely held the most dangers as well. And who knew where D10 went... or if they wanted to be hostile now. "Is everyone okay? Isaac? Your leg... is it holding up alright? Brass, Kris, Eris? Your wounds didn't open again did they? Everyone, drink up... We wanna stay hydrated. We can take cover among the tall grasses.. Then take a look at the ship. I know it's obvious... but it's the only standing cover we've got without climbing up those mountains... And we might find our wayward alliance-mates there." Ever the optimist, Caleb was hoping that they'd just fled in fear and weren't planning an ambush here. They could rest soon... he hoped. He, with the shock of Laz's death and the sudden realization he might lose Liv, was barely keeping it together. If he didn't keep a bright outlook, he'd have already fallen apart. Normally, Liv would have protested Caleb carrying her anywhere. Especially, without asking first. She wasn't a "progressive" woman in the strictest sense but she didn't like to be treated like she was fragile. She was made of steel. She'd bend for she'd break. Caleb, because of his nature, would forget that sometimes. Like now. That being said, Olivia was grateful. Those birds unnerved her. Everything in the Arena did. But Caleb was still alive. She needed to remain alive for his sake. At least that what she told herself. Olivia was about to tell Caleb that he had been careless. That was until he kissed her forehead and she sighed, contently, leaning into his touch. She was reminded of their night together and that for a moment brought a smile to her face. Then he kissed her and everything fell away. For a moment only the two of them existed. And Olivia returned the kiss as if they didn't have an audience. When the kiss ended, a muted whimper escaped her and Olivia snapped herself out of her haze. Immediately, heat rushed on her face. Liv buried her face in Caleb's shoulder. “Our families are watching...”Then she chuckled. They had always been careful. Paxton didn't know they were an item until last year, not officially anyway. Well if there was any doubt in his mind before now... “I don't like the idea of exploring. The ship looks too inviting. So I don't trust it. Couldn't we just stay here?”Olivia rolled 6 dice to "run" 6,1,5,10,5,3,8 (2 successes)

Caleb and Olivia found that thier alliance had given them privacy during thier affections. The group had come to a stop by a sloping green valley that dipped into an inviting blue lake. The oppressive heat was now in the mid eighties. Sweat pooled down your bodies. The water of the lake looked inviting. On the far edge, a short waterfall cascaded into the lake, casting up a cool spray. Several gray rocks dotted the sandy shore of the lake, hot to the touch. In the distance, a lower valley is dotted with vegetation. The ship waited offshore, a large luxury vessel. The anchor moored it in place. A small row boat was tethered to the larger vessel, bobbing in the water. One would wade into the water and climb the rope ladder to ascend the ship.
Brass was in the process of prodding the water with a stick while Eris and Dupioni watched him with great amusement.
"You laugh," Brass replied at seeing thier expressions. "- you wouldn't if this was acid. Or if there were pirranha."
"No, we wouldn't." Eris admitted, trying to hide the smile on her face. "You're just so - serious." "Don't touch the water." Brass admonished. "Not until you check it. Now I think this is all right. Start setting up to purify it and we can drink our skins.
"Look-," Theodore plucked up a damp T shirt in the style of the tribute uniforms from a warm rock. "- this looks like Titan's shirt."
Indeed, it was a large shirt to fit the muscle bound tribute.
Branden was standing off to the side with Willow and Pan, gesturing to his communicator watch band.
"They never told us how long it would take, but I expect one of them will be back as soon as they can."
"What about the birds?" Willow worried.
Branden turned and evaluated the sky for a minute. "I don't see them. I believe that they went after the career pack."
"No cannons." Pan said morosely. "Which means they may have butchered the birds." "Its only been a few minutes. Don't fret about what you can't control."
Branden advised.
"Someone will be back for you. Stay with the group and stay safe."
Branden walked over to Caleb and Olivia.
"I'm going to head back to the Capitol. I imagine Rory will be the one who comes in next. "
Branden looks over his shoulder discreetly. Only Willow and Pan stand close enough to Olivia and Caleb to overhear. Branden says quietly.
"I want to look into what happened to Lazuli." He whispered. "I'll message Rory what I find out. I imagine she'll tell you."
Dupioni, Eris, and Theodore were crouched by the lake, investigating thier packs. From the comments of '- a pan? Water micro pills?"
they were searching for a way to purify the water. Brass had taking up sentry standing on the rock that jutted into the water, surveying the peninsula with distrust.
Lorne had accepted the damp shirt from Theodore and walked along the waters edge. He found another shirt - in Star's size- also laid out on a warm rock. "Laid out to dry." He mused.
"I hazard that they took a swim." He announced to the group. "Which suggests that the water is safe."
"Unless they aren't here because some delayed reaction melted -"
"Ookay.." Branden interrupted Pan's pessimistic opinion.
"The shirts are intact." Lorne held them up. "No holes. No melting. Maybe they found some place to get cool."

Caleb smiled, wrapping his arms around her and holding her as she buried her face against his shoulder. "I know... And they know I love you..."And if their families could see them, so could the sponsors and Game Makers and... if not, it didn't matter to Caleb right then. What mattered was that they'd escaped the giant birds alive and intact and he could still hold and kiss and have Liv here in this world instead of anxiously waiting to find her in the next. The next few days he'd do what he could to draw the cameras back to them. Back to the lovers, and give them a show. He bent and kissed her forehead again before looking to the alliance, who'd given them space it seemed. He was thankful for their privacy, even if he knew they'd never get any from the cameras. Even if they weren't broadcast live right now, there would certainly be a highlight of their interaction during the nighttime hours when little else was happening. He looked back to Liv. "We're too exposed out here. We have to do some exploring... If it's not the ship, then perhaps there's a cave behind the waterfall."He looked to Branden as he approached, finally letting go of his embrace with Liv, though still holding her hand. They were one in this, a union that wasn't going to be broken by anything... At the mention of Lazuli, Caleb's flushed cheeks drain of color. The red hole in the back of the boy's head flashing through his mind's eye. "Thank you, Branden... I appreciate it. I... I want to know also."He looked past Branden to Lorne as he announced the discovery of another shirt. He nodded with a small approval of how Branden snipped the pessimistic comment from Pan. "No cannons either," he added. But no cannons meant the careers were also winning their fight with the birds. Caleb found himself both relieved and horrified by the notion. Relieved at the lack of death, and horrified as it meant they'd eventually have to face the careers. He looked at Lorne and then Branden. "I think they had a good idea... and one we should mirror... Finding a place to cool off and start setting up camp is important."He squeezed Liv's hand and moved down toward the water's edge to join the others. "What do you guys think? I know our meeting before the Games began covered the Bloodbath... Now that we're through..." he refused to broach the subject of splitting up. Not now at least. "What do you say to camping together?"He shot a glance at Liv, turning a touch green as his imagination turned her paler than she was now, and fired her cannon... He didn't know how, but he'd gotten Laz killed by sticking around longer than intended... and he couldn't stand that fate could easily become Liv's. "I wouldn't mind checking out the ship." Willow stated. "There's probably something good inside. Some gear."
"There's that life boat." Pan tilted his head as he surveyed the ship. "We can get it off of the pulley system and row that around."
Over by the lake, Theodore had found the Pack 8 that he had grabbed on the battlefield. He pulled out a 32 oz Nalgene wide mouthed bottle that was full of water, a 10 oz metal canteen cup, clear wrap and a collapsible shovel. He took the cup and filled it with water from the lake, commenting.
"We're going to need to boil this." "Unless someone has a MicroPur tablet." Eris suggested. "Fire will tell them where we are. As far as they know, we are on the beach." "Until they look at the beach." Theodore countered. "Liv, Caleb, you have any pills? Do you have a vote on lighting fire so we can purify some water?"

"I'll check... I'd say that if we can avoid it, we don't light a fire for the moment." Caleb slipped his bow over his shoulder and checked his pack, taking a moment to offer a pair of MicroPur tablets to Eris. "The longer they don't know exactly where we are, the better. Put these to good use."He looked to Pan and Willow. He was a decent swimmer... He then looked back to Lorne and Liv. She didn't want to go into the ship. And Pan had a good point about the lifeboat. "We could also turn the boat over and use it for a make shift shelter in a pinch..."Hit points: 24/24 Defense: 5 Willpower: 5/5 Caleb’s Mantra of the Dead: Lazuli Somnus

As the two begin to plan what they should be doing - the sun began to descend down on the horizon. The temperature begins to descend sharply. The sweat that used to signify heat now begins to chill the skin. The sunlight vanishes with an alarming rate, shadowing the valley with long gray shadows. The temperature dips from eighty degrees to fifty. The temperature seems to be sliding ever further...
"Its cold." Willow began to shiver. The girl plucked her damp clothes with a frown. "We should change out of our clothes... But I don't think we have spares."
"I should get going." Lorne and Branden stated. "Someone will be back soon."
Lorne hesitated, giving Caleb a long look.

Caleb shivered with the sudden drop in temperature, immediately regretting the decision not to make a fire. "We should get out of the open, make a small fire. Bundle up together... Hope our sponsors send something else to us. Only place for that is the shipwreck, at least without getting wetter..."He looked at Willow, then Pan before digging the lighter he'd found in his pack out and handing it to them. "Out of the elements. Before the temperature drops more."He backed away, turning to kiss Liv. "I want to tell our mentor good bye... Be back in a sec, my love." He took a couple jogging steps, stopping before Lorne and Branden. He held his hand out to Branden first, then Lorne. "Thank you... Thank you both... So much."Hit points: 24/24 Defense: 5 Willpower: 5/5 Caleb’s Mantra of the Dead: Lazuli Somnus

Olivia had been quiet, escaping into her mind a bit. This is why she couldn’t be a leader. Caleb was the diplomatic one. Olivia was the realistic one. With the discovery of Star’s shirt all she could think about was some mutt getting to them. Olivia nodded to Caleb, knowing that if they went to the ship, she would have to as well. “Tell them thank you for me. And don’t keep me waiting for too long.”She went to Willow. “I can help with the fire. What would you like me to do?”

Pan accepted the lighter and Willow beckoned the others who were shivering by the lake. Caleb found his water purification pills returned as there was to be a fire.
Caleb completed his good byes and the mentors departed towards the Beach. It was assumed that the hovercraft would come once they were out of sight of the tributes...
Willow turned to those who were investigating their packs. "Away from the water. We're heading for the ship wreck" Pan gathered the group with Caleb. The girl paused turned towards Olivia at her question.
"- we need wood. This all might be damp from the sea, but the interior might have been cracked open; where it was dry."
She narrowed her eyes at the water fall. Two figures emerged - shaking, pale and wet.
"Star." Willow recognized the pair as they drew closer. The girl claimed the tributes now dry shirts from Theodore and carried them over, tugging on their wet undershirts. "Take these off and get your shirts on. "
Willow ushered Star behind Titan's turned back, which provided plenty of cover for the slim girl to change. "It was hot." Titan stated. "So we went for a swim and found a little cave where we napped. But its damp in there. We can't stay there now. You'll catch your death."
"You still might." Pan breathed under his breath. "Come on." He stated in a louder voice. "To the ship wreck!"
The girls abandoned the wet undershirts on the rocks and followed Pan and Titan to the ship. As all this was going on, a small parachute drifts to Caleb. In addition to Pack two and a duffel bag, he finds a small blue velvet bag. Within are two golden bands, one plain and sized for his finger. One was delicately shaped with a round cut diamond within.

Caleb nodded, waving a final farewell to the mentors before returning to the group. He paused at the sound of the sponsor parachute coming in and landing at his feet. He hefted the sizable package and opened it, smiling at the contents. Someone was listening to Mel back in the Capitol as he found a good variety of clothes, and a single sleeping bag. He'd share that with Liv... He didn't mind the proximity to her, and expected it would help them with the sponsors. He took the velvet bag out last, after packing the other items carefully into the duffel bag. He wondered what it could be, certainly nothing grand as the other items, but it'd be important none the less. He opened the bag and his mouth fell open as he shook out the pair of rings. His knees went weak and he couldn't help but gape at them. He'd written a note to his mentors on the very first day they'd arrived in the Capitol, two weeks prior, requesting a ring the first night, if he and Liv had survived. They'd beaten the odds, and survived the blood bath with narry a scratch on them and Mel had come through for him. He had expected a simple steel or iron band... or nothing at all. And yet, here in his palm were two golden circles, Liv's set with a diamond nestled in it. He didn't know how much these cost Mel... but there weren't enough 'thank yous' in the world, as far as Caleb was concerned, to express the gratitude he felt. He picked his jaw up off the ground and carefully replaced the rings back into the bag. He looked skyward, to give the cameras the best opportunity to see his face as he mouthed 'Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you.' He carefully tucked the bag deep into his pants pocket... Now just to figure out the best time to propose to Liv. Tonight, clearly, but perhaps once the alliance had settled in for the night. He moved back to join the group, his smile bright and friendly and genuine. He was glad to see Star and Titan. He slipped his arm around lives shoulders, kissed her ear and whispered, "There's something very important I need to ask you after we get settled in."He left it at that, and a bright, slightly nervous, smile before saying, in a louder voice: "Yes, to the ship wreck. Sir, Pan... would you be so kind as to lead our expedition?"After a moment's walk, the turned the duffel bag around and tugged out one of the two fleeces that he offered to Star. "Here... The other is at the bottom of the Duffel... It'll help you not freeze. Once we get settled in, I'll get the other out for Titan."Hit points: 24/24 Defense: 5 Willpower: 5/5 Caleb’s Mantra of the Dead: Lazuli Somnus

Olivia nodded at Willow's words. She didn't want to go on the ship wreck but if Caleb was heading there she had to go. “Willow you think you can manage on your own? Because I can't leave Caleb to his own devices.” She smiled. “He's a little hopeless without me.”Olivia sighed, contently when Caleb returned and they embraced. She was shivering a bit due the sudden drop in temperature but he was warm. She nodded. “Okay.”She was a bit nervous. What did he need to ask her? Why once they got settled in? Why then and not now? “Maybe we should have some people stay and something people go with us. And maybe we should wait until the next mentor comes in.”Olivia looked at Star and Titan for a moment trying to get a beat on them. Their story... it didn't sit right with her. She didn't know why. It just didn't. Olivia Tully rolled 7 dice to "Reading Star & Titan" 4,7,8,9,6,7,4 (2 successes)

Olivia studied Star and Titan and couldn't get any deception markers. If anything, Titan helped the girls grab their items and carried it over to the ship wreck. Star accepted the fleece and smiled at Caleb. "Thank you. I appreciate it." Staring at Star and Titan earned Oliva a curious glance from Star. "Olivia?" Star looked confused. "Whats going on?" The ship towered thirty feet over their heads. Psyche and Isaac sat down with their backs to the ship, while Willow and Pan sat across from them. Pan moved around the wreck, gathering some large conch shells and rocks with which he constructed a fire ring. Dupioni and Theodore sat nearer to the district nines, leaving a spot for Caleb and Olivia around the 'fire ring'. Star and Titan took the empty side of the fire ring. Darkness was now overtaking the area. You can see about five feet in front of you. Soon, you know you won't be able to see that far. As darkness fell, the temperature also continued to drop. It was now forty degrees.Eris was rooting through her bag by the ship. "Not much... I wouldn't be against going inside the ship."The girl pulled out Pack #3. She discreetly moved off into the dusk carrying a long sleeved shirt. She returned wearing the long sleeved shirt and holding the sweat stained undershirt and T shirt, laying them over a nearby rock. She tugged on a jacket. She handed the extra long sleeved shirt and fleece pull over to Olivia and one fleece pull over to Psyche. "Thank you." Pscyhe said as she accepted the pull over. "But I grabbed a bag of clothes. Willow." She handed the pull over to the district seven girl. Psyche investigated pack #2. She pulled on a fleece jacket and handed one to Isaac. She discreetly changed out of her under shirt and shirt into a fresh T shirt and pulled on a fleece pull over and jacket. She unrolled a sleeping bag and crawled inside. Isaac glanced over to Dupioni and handed the girl the fleece pull over his partner had handed him. "You're so slim, you should bundle up." He said with a sweet compliment. "Then get in here." Psyche told him. "Its getting cold."Eris found a head lamp and switched it on, creating a small path of light around the darkness. "Get in close." Willow said quietly. "The fire has to stay small so the aura isn't seen around the ship."Willow took the wood that Pan had gathered and soon had a small and stable fire burning. The fire helped some, but any one not wearing warmer clothing soon began to shiver uncontrollably. "Some food will help us." Theodore stated. The gruff boy pulled out metal containers from his bag and created a makeshift spit that the pots could hang over the fire. After a few moments of warming, Theodore opened the pots. Within were warm and delicious smelling - lamb stew (4 servings) and
- chicken pot pies (4 personal pot pies)
The chocolate pie (4 servings) was kept room temperature, but could tempt someone with a sweet tooth. "Every one eat something." Dupioni suggested. "And check your packs. Maybe you picked up something warm to wear.""Maybe we should check the ship for gear." Willow glanced to Caleb and Olivia. "I'd go with you two." "I have light. I'll come." Eris stated. Caleb was buying District 10's story, hook line and sinker. He was glad they were back and he'd not lost anyone else under his leadership. And that was a comforting thing for him. He held her for a moment before sifting through his duffel and digging out the jacket that he slipped on before embracing Liv again. He was thankful for the sharing of clothing among the group. He may have started it, but it warmed his heart to see the others following suit. Especially when a fleece was given to his girl. He smiled and nodded his thanks. He listened to the discussion and willingly got in close to the fire. Doing so had two effects: one it got everyone close and bodyheat got to be shared... and two, their bodies could shadow the light of the fire, hopefully keeping it from being seen from too far away. The food sent his stomach growling and reminded him he hadn't eaten since before the blood bath. With that in mind, and after a glance to Theodore, he snagged one of the pot pies and split it with a little wince from the hot interior, giving half the of the gooey pie to Liv before eating his half. If they found more in the ship, he'd have more. For now, however, this would stave off hunger pains. He washed it down with a swig from his water bottle. He immediately passed that to Liv as well. He smiled, warmly, fondly at her... deciding when would be the best time to ask, when the discussion turned toward going into the ship. He nodded. "I'll go. Liv'll be right at my side," and he'd propose after the daring raid into the ship. He'd have the attention of the cameras then, especially if something dramatic happened while they explored. "Eris, Willow... I'd be honored to have you both at our side."Hit points: 24/24 Defense: 5 Willpower: 5/5 Caleb’s Mantra of the Dead: Lazuli Somnus

"Whats going on?" Olivia shook her head at Star’s question. “Nothing. I just wanted to make sure you two were alright.”It was the truth. To an extent. However, unlike Caleb, Liv didn’t trust as easily. She never took anything for face value as she was trained to look for the meaning between the lines. ‘Mind a person’s actions not their words. For deeds will often betray a lie.’ Words she tried to live by. Psyche was a reader just the same as her. So for the time being she had to trust that Psyche would keep a watchful eye on the Star and Titan while she guarded Caleb during the scouting mission. Olivia shivered against the cold. It was a different kind of cold than she was used it. Not at windy either. But it was chilly nonetheless. The fleece pullover was a welcomed sight. “Thank you, Eris.”She sat near Caleb taking half of the chicken pie from him, as well as helping herself to a serving of lamb stew. She ate half of the stew before passing it to Caleb. “Thank you everyone. Thank you for sharing with us.”After she was done eating, Liv nodded at Caleb as he spoke. “So, Pan, Willow, Eris, Caleb and myself. The rest will stay? Perhaps boil water and fill our packs… I really wish that the next pair of mentors will arrive soon.”At least then she could trust that her alliance mates were protected. Aurora was dressed for the cold when the hovercraft dropped her some ways down from the beach. She looked down at her hands and willed them to stop shaking. She looked up, knowing a camera was there to capture her even move. She smiled and waved. “Here we go again…” she mumbled before pushing forward. She was all along and surrounded by danger. This time there was no Jasmine to be her rock. No Tank to heal her wounds. No Rowan to keep her honest. There was just Aurora Noland and the persona she had created in the two years she had been a mentor. She approached the camp site with her hands in the air. “Hello, there…”

"I'll stay up." Psyche tells Olivia. "I'll watch the fire."
"Get some sleep." Psyche encouraged Isaac. "For all we know, night - Rocs arrive in ten minutes."
Isaac straightened in the sleeping bag and glanced around until Psyche lightly smacked him in the shoulder. "I was kidding!" She laughed. "Lay down."
Psyche and Isaac share the same sleeping bag, laying near the ship. Psyche remains awake, watching the others and the fire. She keeps her lower body and hands tucked into the sleeping bag, staying warm. Isaac lays back and closes his eyes, drifting towards sleep.
"Brass, do you want to head back?" Eris asks Brass. "I know Kris wanted to do that... thing... and he's busy, so..."
Brass nodded and indicated the backpack that he had left by the ships' aft side, some thirty feet away.
"I'll set it up." Eris declared. "Every one," She announced. "Stay away from the front - nose of the ship. I'm setting up the mine about forty feet in front of there. If someone attacks, an arrow aimed there would detontate, or if they try to sneak past the lake towards us."
Eris and Brass move off with the backpack, Eris light working some fify feet away. Eris returns alone, joining Liv and Caleb. Willow also joins Liv and Caleb, holding her bow and an arrow at the ready. Pan stands with his axe in his hands just outside of the fire ring, watching the Beach entrance. He stood vigil as some of the others prepared for sleep.
At Rory's arrival, a smile broke across Pan's face.
"Rory." He greeted her warmly. "Thank you for coming."

The Anthem began to play, signalling the start of the nightly entertainment and communication from the Capitol. The music faded away to show the face of a solitary tribute, Lazuli. The only death of the day; whose death was still mysterious. The sky now moved to display a moving captured video of the days events. By the brightness and blue sky paired with the sandy locale of the Cornucopia, this was the Blood Bath. An overview of the Bath showed the careers reaching the horn. Diedre and Iris had just moved for the horn. Willow, Pan, Star and Titan were already running for the Beach. Lazuli was shown swimming across the salt water lake. A pair of hands - light skinned, female hands - smashed downwards holding a large rock. The screen goes to black, not showing the gruesome death. Let it has shown that Lazuli's murderer was a female - and a light skinned female, eliminating Iris - had she not already been shown climbing the horn.
" Attention Tributes: The mentors who qualified in the second run may now enter the arena... A drop ship of supplies to clothe and arm these mentors will be imminent. Be vigilant."

Caleb unlimbered his bow. He expected something nasty in the ship, as he slipped an arrow from his quiver and set it at rest against the bow. He smiled at Liv, then at Psyche and Isaac in the sleeping bag. He wished they were just camping together without the threat of the careers or the rocs or the game makers out there to mess everything up. He liked everyone at the fire and wanted to see everyone home… he wanted them to witness his proposal and invite them to his and Liv’s wedding. He wanted, but knew it wouldn’t happen and it caused a tight band in his stomach to tighten. ”Thank you, Psyche… I really appreciate it. We should be in shouting distance if something happens, we’ll come back in a hurry.” He held his bow and arrow in one hand and slipped his free one into Liv’s. He could scarcely wait to feel the cool metal band on her ring finger. He gave three quick, distinct squeezes. She was the one person here he’d never lift a hand to harm. He would hate himself forever for the pain and suffering he’d inflict on others… but Liv… He couldn’t live without her. He slid his hand from hers, pushing the dismal thoughts of the fates of everyone around them from his head. It wasn’t that time yet, and there would be good times before those eventualities were a necessity. And then there was Laz… He brushed a hand quickly over his eyes, banishing tears that hadn’t formed yet, and turned away from the fire light to take a couple steps toward the ship wreck they were going to investigate. And from the shadows emerged Aurora. He blinked a couple times and shuffled a smile onto his face and took the few steps to meet the victor of 25 and held his hand out toward her. ”Welcome to our humble camp, Miss Noland. I hate to be brief, but… would you help us investigate the ship for supplies or watch over those here who’re sleeping?”On the tail end of his question, the Anthem blared into the being and he turned around to stare at the sky as Laz’s face was projected. Caleb felt his gut twist and he wanted to flee to Liv’s arms, especially as Laz’s final moments were projected up there for all to see, without actually revealing anything more that they didn’t already know. Or suspect. One of a dozen girls was handy with a rock. He shook his head, turning his back to those nearby and composing himself. It took until the end of the announcement, and he only barely kept it together, but Caleb kept himself from shedding tears for the passed career. If we’d fled sooner… He turned back to his scouting party. ”Sh..Shall we?”Hit points: 24/24 Defense: 5 Willpower: 5/5 Caleb’s Mantra of the Dead: Lazuli Somnus Caleb Hunnington rolled 5 dice to "Will" 9,2,10,4,4,5 (2 successes)

Three quick squeezes. Olivia nodded. She loved him too. She smiled, weakly at Aurora, bowing her head in respect. The Anthem playing turned her gaze upward. Laz’s death… Olivia glanced at Caleb and sighed. She gave him a look, one that said he wasn’t to blame for Laz’s death. “Yes, I’m ready…” Aurora smiled at her tribute, Pan. “It was my pleasure, Pan.”She turned to look at Caleb, returning his friendly handshake. “I’ll stay with Pan and the others to keep watch. There’s going to be a supply drop for me soon. I think it’s best if I stay here and wait for it.”

Eris led the way towards the ship as she had the headlamp upon her head. She walked to the side of the ship where the wooden ship has been split open. The girl lowers her head and surveys the ground, picking her way inside the ship. She pauses there and shines her light on the ground so that Olivia, Caleb and Willow can walk inside safely. Eris shines the light around the first room, revealing a chaotic mess. A broken bunk lays against the far wall with a barrel bobbing with it. A few inches of sea water remains in this room.
There was a stair case in this room and Eris moves towards it, stating. "Theres a floor above and a floor below." The girl noticed a door in the ruined room and opens it. She shines her light around, revealing four barrels and four wooden crates. The top of one crate is open and light glints off of plastic bottles.
"Water?" Eris hazarded a guess from the doorway.

Caleb nodded to Aurora. He was thankful for her decision, hoping that the extra set of eyes would help protect his alliance, his friends. He glanced at Liv again, catching her look. He shook his head, sadly... it was his fault. And he was beating himself up for it. And the best way to avoid dwelling is through action, which makes him wonder how long he'll cry when it is his turn to finally sleep for the night. He moved up after Eris, treading carefully after her and thankful for her headlamp. He studied the room, frowning at the chaotic mess and the couple of inches of water on the floor. He followed after Eris, letting Liv watch his rear. "Let's move up after searching this room. In this chill, getting wetter can be deadly, so the second floor should be dryer." With that being said, Caleb paused for a moment, looking at the broken bunk. He strained his eyes in the light of Eris's head lamp, looking under and around the bunk and barrel before approaching it and getting a closer look. He lifted the mattress carefully after checking, again, behind it, and checked for a blanket. If one was found, it might not be useful now wet, but after an hour... it could help someone ward off a chill. Lastly he studied the barrel, knocking against its side. He figured that whatever was inside wasn't terribly dense if it was floating in the couple inches of water, and if it were hollow, why bother trying to open it? He glanced back Eris's way. "Maybe... Might be poisoned or unclean, so... we should treat any foodstuffs we find here cautiously..."Hit points: 24/24 Defense: 5 + 3 armor (3 chest) Willpower: 5/5 Caleb’s Mantra of the Dead: Lazuli Somnus

Olivia's eyes adjusted fine to the darkness of the ship. Even without Eris' headlamp, Liv could have navigated this ship in the darkness. That didn't mean she was going to hush to do that. No. “Check for traps,” Olivia cautioned. She was the careful one. Caleb was the adventurous one. This far it was serving them well to play on their strengths. Liv didn't see any reason why they stop now. Olivia checked around and behind the barrels and crates, shadowing Caleb's search routine. If he missed something, Liv hoped that she would pick up on the mistake. Not for bragging rights but because it would keep them alive. “Think it's safe to open one of them?” she asked to no one in particular.

Caleb studied the bunk and found a sheet set still attached. A blanket had fallen into the water, but looked serviceable; although it was soaked presently. The barrel emitted a sound that something was inside of it...
Olivia detected a faint odor as she looked around one of the barrels. It smelled... sweet. Like sugar; or something from a bakery. Looking behind a stack of crates, she saw a metal crowbar set against the wall. A means of easy opening for the crates and barrels; and a possible improvised weapon. Maybe something within this ship was jammed.
"I'm going to." Eris tells Olivia. "Can't find gear without opening some boxes. Of course if something impales me, poor move..."
Eris stepped into the room and moved to the open crate. She tilted the crate, testing the weight. "Heavy." She noted before setting the wooden lid aside and glancing inside. She noted four bottles that she pulled out and held up, shining the headlight through. She opened one of the bottles and splashed it down on the corner of the room, smelling the opening of the bottle.
"Water." She decided, replacing the bottle. She tilted the crate and moved two of the bottles, noting. "This crate is full of paper shavings. Great for kindling."
Eris set the crate aside and looked at the exterior of the crate below. She wrinkled her nose as she smelled something pungent, like ammonia. She sniffed and glanced behind the crate, noting nothing unusual.
"You guys smell something?" She asked.
Willow had moved to one of the barrels. She lifted off the lid and peered inside. "Eris, can you shine your light over here?"
Eris complied, revealing cloth bundles tied with brown twine. Willow lifted one out and untied the twine. She smiled as she announced: "Jackets." She tugged one on and sighed. "They're wonderful and warm."
Willow tilted the barrel on its side and pulled out three more bundles, setting them on the dry barrel lid. She tilted the barrel with a frown, noticing something off about the weight. As she tilted it, something metallic clanked within. Willow overturned the barrel and something metal fell out. Eris looked down at it and revealed a flash light. Willow picked it up and turned it on, pleased to have a means of investigating.
"Four jackets, total." She reported.

Caleb scooped up the wet blanket with one arm and moved it to a dryer section of the room before setting it down. It'd help. He set his arrow back into his quiver and stowed his bow across his back. "Good find, Willow. We can distribute them as needed..."He moved back to the bunk and carefully tugged the barrel away. "Olive, could you help me with the opening of this? Sounds like something's inside."Caleb wrinkled his nose, catching a wiff of the ammonia. "Yeah... I smell that too. I think something might have been using this ship as a home at one point. Or still is. This is a great start guys, a little more searching and we can bring back what we found."After opening the barrel with Liv and carefully inspecting its contents, he moved back to the door with Eris and into the second room. He carefully moved around the crates and barrels that had yet to be touched, looking behind them and around them. If they needed to be moved, he wanted to make sure they weren't sitting atop something that might object to it.
