Anna Marie: Rogue, Former Mutant “I could spit on him, if I wasn’t a lady.” Rogue's jaw slacked and she stared at the professor for a while. She had no idea what to say to that. The cure wasn't a cure. It had just caused mutants' powers to become latent. Rogue looked down at the ground and frowned. “I took... I took the cure so I could touch people without... Draining them. And you're saying... You're saying it may have all been a waste? My powers might just... Come back?” Rogue asked, in slight disbelief. She didn't think what she had heard was correct. She couldn't use her powers: they were gone. Rogue exhaled slowly. “When will you let us go?” She asked. She didn't want to be here anymore.

Riley was a bit relieved and stayed in her cat and rubber form but still at the ready while she listened patiently before speaking. "And how do we know you're not that branch of the government studying us to make weapons, or turn us into weapons? For all we know, you and your college are doing a good cop bad cop act on us. I know how well that trick can work, believe me, I've played both parts before."
Riley looked to the others then back to the scientist. "Even if you're telling the truth, your methods are wrong, change them or I will not help you."

"You can leave now, if you wish." The scientist replied to Rogue. "We want willing help. If you'd rather not be a part of this, you can go now. We can drive you to a populated area so you can go home."
"Or you can stay and help us develop a real cure for those who want it - and a way of defeating whoever this branch is. Quite frankly, we know very little about it.
If you want our methods to change, you need to be more specific. We have many methods."

Anna Marie: Rogue, Former Mutant “I could spit on him, if I wasn’t a lady.” Rogue listened to the scientist, and she hesitated. A cure. A cure for anyone who wanted it. That was what she had wanted, wasn't it? A real cure. But... Rogue had people she needed to get back to. They would be worried about her. And they had tried to rescue her before, but then she had gotten taken again. Rogue massaged her temples with her fingers and shut her eyes tightly. “I...” Rogue didn't know what to do. She listened to what Riley said, and it was true. The methods we extremely strange. If they wanted willing help, why would these people tie them up, restrict their movement? Rogue had no idea whether she could trust the people. She wanted to go home. She wanted to go home so badly. But what if they were lying? What if she said she wanted to leaver and they... Killed her..?

"The methods of abducting people off from the street, holding them, and taking blood from them against their will." She looked to Rogue and had the same suspicious. It seemed this scientist would say anything to get them to cooperate. Riley wasn't buying it and was going to call the bluff.
"I'll see Rogue outside to safety, then I'll consider your offer." She looked to Rogue and gestured her to follow, leading her towards the other door.

"Royce?" The scientist turned to look to the male abductee.
"No, I don't want to be here." Royce stood. "I want out!"
"All right." The scientist nodded. "Anthony, drive them to the nearest shopping mall and give them change to use the pay phone. Riley, if you want to return, you have until the van departs."
The scientist unlocked her computer and returned to her work. Two of the soldiers gestured for Rogue and Royce to follow them. They scanned their biometrics in the door for it to open. One solider exited and waited in the hall for the children.
"Exit." Anthony directed. "I need to close the door."

Riley led the others through the door. She still thought this was just all some trick, but the only way to find out for sure was to just go along with it. She also didn't want to risk asking for anything more, like less conspicuous clothing.

The three teenagers were led down the hall. They passed a cafeteria where they saw three teens eating together. One was the blonde who they had seen have blood drawn. There were no guards with them and no restraints that you could see. The two guards continued walking to a metal exterior door. This door required both a key card and biometrics to access, but it opened into a garage area. You see three black vans parked here. Outside of the garage, there is a helicopter pad and two helicopters on site.
The female unlocks one of the vans and starts it up, glancing behind her as she waits for every one to get a seat.
"Do you want to go to Parkway Mall or Horton Plaza?" She asks, referring to two popular malls that your character is familiar with.

Anna Marie: Rogue, Former Mutant “I could spit on him, if I wasn’t a lady.” Rogue didn't believe this. It was too good to be true. They were just going to let her go? Just like that? She followed them, and she stayed close to Riley. If Rogue had known the other mutant better, maybe she would have taken her hand. Because in truth, Rogue was a little scared. And she could hold hands with people now, without being scared that she might put them in a coma. Or, if this scientist was telling the truth... She couldn't. She still couldn't. She bit her lip and got in the car, adjusting her seatbelt across her body. Rogue paused for a moment, thinking, “H-Horton Plaza.” Rogue said quietly, looking from Riley to Royce.

The female soldier turned the key in the ignition and the van rumbled to life. The woman checked her rear view and pulled out of the parking bay. The sunlight told the teens that it was still day light. Yet the area was not familiar to them. The road was single lane and surrounded by tree and grass. They didn't pass a single car until they drove into the city - they were past the city outskirts. The two in black were silent until Horton plaza came into view...
"Here we are." The male pulled out a manila envelope that seemed heavy with coins. He turned and extended the pouch, offering it to Riley or Rogue.

As the van moved away from the facility, Riley slowly altered her body, cat ears receded and vanished, leaving only normal human ears. Her tail gradually shrank and vanished as well. Her hair color changed to more natural auburn color and the color of her rubber darkened a little, but she was still stuck in skin tight rubber and a lab coat. Lastly she would change her eyes back to human ones, but that would wait until they were actually getting out of the van.
She also paid attention to where they were and where they were traveling. The scientists hadn't thought of all the tricks Riley's power let her do. Before she was captured she had found a injured goose, it 'taught' her how to navigate long distances very well. It should be easy enough for Riley to find the facility again, she hoped.
Riley let Rogue take the coins the envelope full of coins. "I don't have anyone to call, so you take them. I'll just see if I can find some clothes." Riley then took Rogue's hand and exited the van with her. She was still paranoid enough about these people to worry they might simply drive off if one of them stepped out first.

Anna Marie: Rogue, Former Mutant “I could spit on him, if I wasn’t a lady.” Rogue sat in the car and kept her head down, her brown hair acting as curtains, shutting out the world around her. She knew it may not be a good idea to sit there and not try to remember they way they were driving, but she was too scared and she didn't want to come back to this place again. They seemed nice enough, honest enough, but the fact that they had abducted her, and they had kept her restrained caused her worry. She just wanted to get out. Her hands were shaking. When Riley took her hand, Rogue's instinct was to snatch it away. But not harm seemed to come to the other girl, and so she turned and mirrored her, offering her wrist – since her other hand was holding the envelope of coins – to Royce before exiting together. “Th-thank you,” She nodded to the people inside, before turning and walking away. It was more of a brisk jog than a walk, however, because she couldn't wait to put some distance between her and those in the van. “Phone booth...”

Riley let the van leave. For now, she would stick around Rogue and keep an eye on her, at least until her people arrived. Riley kept a safe distance and looked around for a clothing store close enough to slip in and put something without being noticing. It only took a few minutes for Riley to acquire a simple black knee length dress and a pair of black leather boots.
Riley stayed female for now to avoid needing to find mens clothing, but she did change her hair from red to black to avoid being noticed while she shoplifted. Her face also changed slightly, as did her figure to better fit the dress she stole. When she returned to where Rogue was to keep an eye on her she wasn't sure if the former mutant would be able to recognize her or not.

Anna Marie: Rogue, Former Mutant “I could spit on him, if I wasn’t a lady.” When Riley went in to shoplift, Rogue had the sense to not hang around outside. She walked with Royce to a nearby Starbucks and ordered three tall latte machiattos. She figured that they could all use an energy boost and something that just made them feel good after the ordeal they had been through. When she and Royce returned, she blinked a few times, “Riley?” She had to look hard to make sure, before handing her her latte, “Right. Shapeshifter. Here, we got coffee.”She led them to a phone booth just outside the mall and inserted the coins to make the call, before dialling the number to the mansion. “Pick up. Pick up.” The girl whispered, as though willing someone to answer the phone on the other end.

"Hello, school for..." The secretary rattled off the standard greeting for the school. Parents wanted to be secure that their children were boarded at a stellar place, after all, not heading off to save the world. Rogue recognized the secretary's voice. Sara, a nice woman expecting a baby; soon.

Anna Marie: Rogue, Former Mutant “I could spit on him, if I wasn’t a lady.” “Sara, it's Rogue.” Rogue said as soon as she could get a word in between Sara's greeting, “I don't want to say too much, but I got out. I have two... Two friends with me. Both like the rest of us.” Rogue spoke quickly and quietly into the phone, taking a sip of coffee to keep herself calm. “Could someone come get us? They let us go with no trouble but... I'm scared. I just wanna come home.” She felt feeble, and weak, which she knew she wasn't. But she had been held hostage, sort of, and she just wanted to see familiar faces.

"Of course. I'm so glad that you're okay!" Sara took down some information from Rogue; the mall she was at and the pay phones location. "Do you want me to patch you through to the xwing?"

Anna Marie: Rogue, Former Mutant “I could spit on him, if I wasn’t a lady.” “The X-W... Okay.” Rogue didn't have time to ask. She didn't know how long this phone call was going to last before she got cut off. So she decided to just go with it. Sara's concern made Rogue feel better, though. Of course they cared about her wellbeing. “Thank you.” She said.

"So..." Royce glances towards Riley. "Whose she calling? You guys getting picked up?" He glances up at the sky, frowning.
"Suppose I should head home too. I know my folks are probably worried about me." He turns his head to glance at Riley.
"You know how long we were in there? Seems like forever, but couldn't have been more than a week. Maybe two."

"I'm not sure." Riley answered to Royce's first question, it was mostly honest too. She did have better than normal hearing even without over-sized animal ears on and could pick up bits of the conversation, but she didn't know who storm was or what exactly rogue meant when she referred to an X-wing.
"I don't know how long you were there. I only met you today. I was in there for a while, weeks, maybe more. They exposed me to a lot of rare animals while I was there." Riley said to answer his last question. She still didn't trust Royce, but saw no harm in telling him about her time there.
"Where do you live?" Riley asked out of random curiosity. She didn't have a home herself. It was also awkward for her to talk with someone without pretending to be someone else.

Ororo Munroe “Storm”: The Weather Witch “You counter despair with hope. You strive forever for the best you are capable to be. Therein lies the victory.” Within moments a thick fog rolled in. Then the bay doors of the X-Wing opened and Storm walked out. “We should go. I'll fill you all in when we're in there air.” To the newcomers she said, “My name is Ororo Munroe. I can take you anyway you wish to go. If you have nowhere to go, I have a place you can go where you will be safe.”

"Thank you." Riley said before climbing aboard. She was far to curious to pass this up. She was also confident in her ability to escape and disappear if This went badly.
"I'm Riley" she added.

"Animals, hm." Royce replied as he followed Riley into the jet and strapped himself in across from Riley. "Thats odd. They injected me with stuff for a week at the other place and then transferred me to the second place with less security. Thats when the two people I was kidnapped with chose to 'join' them. They were given the run of the place and 'advanced training'. Looked like some kind of special ops training to me."
He leaned over towards Storm.
"You're with Rogue? You can drop me off at home after you tell me whats going on. But what is going on."

Riley strapped herself in as well. She suddenly found it awkward she had chosen to steal a dress to wear, but at least it was something.
"What's odd is the fact they kidnapped us and then just let us go when I asked them too."
Riley was still uncertain about this whole thing. Who she should trust, who she shouldn't. Something just didn't seem right.
