Hi Final - your attributes start with one dot apiece. Then you add three, four and five dots to one section. For example, my career starts with Strength 1, Dexterity 1 and Stamina 1. I want her to be strong, so I add three dots to her Strength attribute for a total strength of four. As physical is my primary, I'll use the final two dots at one apiece to Dexterity and Stamina. Crystal isn't very intuitive or intelligent, so I add 1 across the board to Intelligence, Wits & Resolve. Now my Manipulation skills are my 4 dot attributes. I start with 1 apiece and then add four dots where needed. So one section you add five, one you add four and one you add three dots. Does that make sense?

Right, that part I understood. I just thought that there were also starting caps on actual points per Attribute. Often in White Wolf systems, "Heroic Mortals" have a base cap of three or four in any given slot, so while I can add five dots to one section, I can add no more than two per Attribute. This rule changes from rule-set to rule-set, and I couldn't remember if I had read that somewhere around here or not.

No, theres no 'cap', although a 5 in any attribute costs a great deal of xp; and since we have no starter xp; a 5 on starting is impossible.
