Raising your eyes skyward, the gray ceiling of the roof retracts to reveal cobalt blue sky. As you are raised upwards, you come into a green and gray world. Rolling green hills stretch out from your platform, creating a circular area of green forty feet in all directions. The area is flecked with mature green trees. Thirty feet to the north, a cluster of them make a gray, shadowed area. Thirty feet to the east, the trees are more numerous. Something gray rises in the hills farther to the east, too far to make out clearly. It appears to be a spire or perhaps a towering building. The east seems to hold the only avenue out from the rolling green hills. i2.photobucket.com/albums/y14/fanaticofyou/cornucopia26.pngThe Cornucopia is a towering structure that gleams gold in the afternoon sun. Stacks of goods and impressive weapons are arranged within that impressive arch. Outside, random bags and lone weapons are scattered to be picked over. The temperature is around sixty five degrees. It may be slightly cool, but the day promised activity that would get the blood pumping. You are arranged in a circle around the Cornucopia, thirty feet from the structure. Your district partner is separated from you by two tributes from other districts. The count down soon fills your ears... Victoria leaps from the podium, hitting the ground running. She makes a bee line towards the Cornucopia, moving with intent. She scoops up a sword as she nears the Cornucopia, still ten feet from the arch. The athlete then turns and faces outwards from the horn, holding her body in a defensive position. Come and get it, she seems to say. Glory jumps off her platform and surveys the arena with a cold eye. Without provocation, she hurtles herself at a brunette female beside her. The females go down in a pile with Glory atop, laying a vicious punch to the female. She reaches out towards a knife, plucking it up in an expert grip. Sassinak hops from the platform and backs away from Glory's fight warily. Spotting a bow, she sprints towards the weapon. Sassinak shoulders a sheath of five arrows, picks up the bow and crouches. She notices that Glory is already on the warpath. Sassinak glances around anxiously, searching the ground for something useful. Jasper leaps from his platform and runs towards Ember's side. He runs past her a few feet for the wooden bow propped beside a sheath of five arrows. Gathering his weapon, he approaches his district mate. He is tense and silent, notching an arrow and watching the other tributes intensely. Isolde hits the ground running, sprinting towards another bow and arrow set that gleams ten feet from her podium. The girl takes up her weapons and surveys the arena. Her eyes glint towards a green bag ten feet away - right by Glory's fight with Klover. She catches Jan's eye and gives the boy a terse nod. "Time to get to work." She remarks, setting her jaw as she begins to move towards the bag. Glory rolled 7 dice to "Brawling with Klover" 8,6,4,10,7,2,8,6 (3 successes)

Brass Power, District 2 Male Brass rose into the Arena. He waited, surprisingly patiently, as the timer counted down. His gaze darted around the Arena, picking out pieces of meat for the slaughter, and allies to avoid conflict with. He settled his gaze on Sassinak between two of his allies. A bad place to be, but he'd not told them to go after the sevens, so she might be relatively safe yet. But not from him. Brass looked from Sassinak to Felix, and back again. Maim the girl, the boy won't leave her behind. Sassinak was the first target for him, and work down the line from there... now... what to do the damage with. His gaze wandered once more as the countdown from 10 began. Knife, axe, shield, bow... langswert. There we go, he thought. His blood getting pumping. Someone up there wanted to see the blood fly due to a big-ass sword. His big-ass sword. The countdown ended, Brass sprung off his platform at a dead sprint. He let his head swivel enough to see Glory starting the blood shedding, and Victoria starting the claiming of the horn, and Sassinak claiming a bow. He bent into a forward roll, fingers clasping over the hilt of the sword on the ground and coming back up in a dead sprint at the newly christened archer, one arm up to make hitting his eyes that much harder. As he closed, he brought the sword around in a vicious cutting swatch on the girl. He put a touch of extra effort into that first cut to draw first blood. He didn't expect to kill her in one hit, but... one could hope. Brass Power rolled 12 dice to "Cutting Sassinak +WP" 4,7,6,4,3,5,1,1,9,5,10,1,4,2 (2 successes) Until Brass's next action Brass has a def of 3 thanks to his FS

As the plates they stood on surfaced above ground, Lily took stock of her surroundin- aw heck! Immediately to her left stood the Career she was now very desperate to get the heck away from before the Bloodbath started. As the timer ticked down to zero, Lily flew off the plate as fast as her legs could carry her, dashing for the goods strewn about in the Arena. As she ran past the first set of bags, she grabbed a knife that was lying on top, feeling calmer as she gripped the cold weapon in her right hand. Now she was armed. She had a chance.

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire” “Ember Clay!” Reagan’s voice boomed over the hushed crowd. For moments no one said a word.
“Ember Clay!” Reagan said again.
Silence…
Then the whispers.
“Ember Clay? Little Ember? Ain’t she Ash’s little girl?” “Dunno which is worse; being a tribute or growin’ up in that house.” “How old is she?” “12 years-old.” “District 12 is gonna lose another one.” “When don’t we?”
Everyone knew that Ember was going to die. She wasn’t going to grow older than 12. She’d never turn 13. She’d never have a life beyond this moment.
Twelve. Her first reaping. Some people were just born under a bad sign.
She glanced at her sister, trying to be brave, like Cinder had taught her.
Be brave. Composed. And don’t ever let them see you cry.
Ember took her first step toward the stage.
“I VOLUNTEER! I volunteer as Tribute!” Cinder yelled.
They were already bring her forward when Ember was screaming, “NO!”
“My name is Cinder Clay and I volunteer for Ember Clay.”
“NO!”
When they wouldn’t let her near her sister, the Peacekeepers carried her off as Ember continued to yell. “NO! PLEASE! It’s supposed to be me! Me! Not her! You ruined it! You ruined it!” 10…9…8…Ember takes a breath. Looks to her left, and then her right. Felix and Brass. Bloody Gamemakers. If Felix falls there’s nothing Ember can do about it. Alliance or not. She warned him. 7…6…5…4…Ember fixes her gaze on the prize at the mouth of the Cornucopia. It’s almost time. 3…2…1…Ember closed her eyes and took a breath. Please don’t watch this, Sister.GONG!Ember’s eyes snap open and she leaps from her platform. Felix, Brass, everyone else is forgotten until she can get her hands on a weapon. A Knife! Yes. Ember tested the weight of it in her hands. Good weight. But it was only good for one thing. Killing folk. Ember put the knife in her right hand. It was awkward but her training masked it well. She’d still be able to deal enough damage with it. “Cheer up, Grumpy,” Ember said when she saw Jasper at her side. “When Charming and Sweetpea come over, we’ll start hunting people. Me and Charming set ‘em up. You and Sweetpea knock ‘em down.”She nodded to Victoria as they seemed to have the same kind of stance. “Try to save some for the rest of us, eh Princess…”Ember is dodging anything coming at her this round. Def is at 8. She is also using her off-hand (her right hand) to attack so all of her attack rolls will be at a -2.[/spolier]

He wanted to touch the screen, watching his twin smile at where he thought the camera was. Even raised his hands in the 'District salute' when Jace kissed his fingers and did it at them, those dark-blue eyes sparkling.
Everyone else in District 9 did too.
Rumor was that Jace was one of the Capitol's sweethearts. Everyone loved a smiling and grateful Tribute, after all, and Jace was everything they adored. Sweet. Soft-spoken. Grateful for the 'opportunity'.
He even had a 'talent', which those sycophants ate up, from everything Jan saw. One that he wasn't shy about displaying, and why should he be? Jace loved to sing, and he was good at it. Jan couldn't remember a day in his life where he hadn't heard Jace sing at some point. Even if it was under his breath. Even if he didn't realize he was doing it.
Jan hadn't realized he'd miss it as much as he did until Jace was just...gone.
And then he's off, running for the backpack. Running for the scythe someone put there--probably just for him--before he found...District 4? The boy from District 4. Standing back to back with a boy from a Career District?
Their Jace?
Jan had swallowed, dancing on his feet as he watched Jace grab a second bag, and they took off for the trees.
"He listened to me." Jan could feel the tears in his voice. "He took my advice."
"Of course he did, Jan." Max, her fingers threaded through his. "He trusts you." [/blockquote] Jan blinked, standing there on his own pedestal. Watching everyone else getting their barings. Who was close. Who was far. Alliance partners and District partners... Isolde was directly across from him. He could get to her easy. Ember. Jaspar. Near enough that it shouldn't be too much of a problem. On either side: Sassinak on one. Galen on the other. The timer goes off... ...And Jan goes running. A knife. He just needed one, even if two would be better, and he takes off for the Cornucopia, grabbing one knife, and then taking off after his alliance. Get together, and then get to work. "Let's do this." They were safe from the Career Alliance this turn around, so it was time to go in fighting. Time to find an easy target. Or to play bait. There. A bag of...something, and Jan didn't much care what was in it so long as it drew someone to try and off him. It was time to trust his alliance to do what needed to be done, and to trust himself and his training. "Going to cover Isolde." Watch my back. He only prayed that he was as smart as Jace had been in choosing his friends. She'd gone for it, and now it was time to see if someone went for her. And maybe stab them in the throat. If someone goes after Isolde, Jan will attack using Spetnaz.

Victoria glanced around the arena, her eyes as blank as a shark and emotionless. Her black hair had been braided into two plaits, her bangs neatly trimmed to frame her face. She sheathed the newly found sword and strode forward, surveying the battle field. Her eyes went to Glory and Klover and then tracked to Brass and Sassinak. "Talk to two about that." Victoria smiled at Ember and it was like the polar caps were melting. Those dark brown eyes danced. Victoria was born to be here and she finally looked happy. "Eclypse, how do you feel about watching the horn?" Victoria asked her partner casually, ever scanning the field. She began stretching her arms and working her fingers. "Don't see much competition." The boy with the magnetic eyes replied. "I think its time to take a walk about the park." The no - longer - silent - boy had a winsome smile that swayed Victoria's reserve. The two turned their eyes to the arena. Their eyes immediately were drawn to a pair of tributes, one male and one female, who were streaking away from the Cornucopia on Lily's heels. "Brass!" Coral's voice cut through the din of running and shouting. "Back off, Brass." Coral advised, raising her chakram with confidence. "The girl is with me." "Yes, back off." Sassinak snarled, angry. She placed a hand to her left arm which bled freely. She back peddled to stand nearer to Coral, notching an arrow. She didn't look likely to run. In fact, she notched and drew the arrow in one practiced motion. The training center had served her well. The arrow plunged into the fatty section of Brass' left leg. Not a vital wound, but unpredictable. Sassinak rolled 10 dice to "Shooting Brass [13 - 3]" 5,8,8,5,2,1,9,2,7,2 (3 successes) "Bad move, sister." Eclypse said regretfully, whipping his blade across Coral's back. "Made the bad choice on alliances. "Coral was still standing, but she grimaced with pain. Eclypse rolled 8 dice to "Attacking Coral with knife" 9,3,2,7,9,6,2,10,5 (3 successes) "Let go!" Lacey snarled at a boy, punishing him with a blunt staff. Victoria, en route to Brass' conflict, turned her head towards Lacey, Marsh, Savannah and Cotton. Lacey had rapped onto Marsh's shoulder with her staff, holding it at the ready. "Get it!" She barked to Cotton; who scooped up a backpack between Savannah and Lacey. Lacey rolled 10 dice to "Staff blow to Marsh" 2,1,2,4,1,3,8,4,10,3,7 (2 successes)

15, 14, 13, 12, 11The light in the Arena is different to the artificial lights of the Capitol. Felix closes his eyes momentarily, before he opens them again to allow them to adjust. Where is she Sassinak. 10, 9, 8Brass. Ember. Lily. They’re close. He mentally swears. 7, 6, 5Jan. Isolde. Boomer. Jasper. Coral. Victoria. Eclypse. Glory. Lacey. Roger. Felix’s eyes dance around at the tributes surrounding him. Where is she.4, 3, 2Sassinak. Felix’s eyes meet hers and for a second he feels happy. His happiness is replaced by the daunting feeling that he is going to die in just a few moments. 1Felix is ready. As he’ll ever be. GONG!Brass is on the move. Felix notes it instantly. He doesn’t even notice Ember, or Glory, or anyone else. Just Brass and Sassinak. Felix hurtles from his platform. His eyes move around the area, looking for an axe. As he runs, he bends forwards slightly and takes a hold of one as he passes, pulling it up and then he straightens up and continues to run at his greatest speed. He sees Brass attack Sassinak. He knows. He thinks to himself bitterly, cursing the Career in his head. He sees Coral join his district partner, and he sees Sassinak notch an arrow. “No. No. No.” Felix says to himself as he runs. As he reaches his alliance, Felix runs forward towards Sassinak. He looks at the two girls he’s promised to keep safe, and then at Brass and Eclypse. No. They need Lily and Boomer. They can’t leave until they’re there. But he can’t risk Sassinak or Coral’s life to save theirs either. “Move now!” Felix shouts across at the girls, his eyes frantically searching the Arena. He sees Victoria and Glory close by. There would be no hope for his alliance if they reach them. “GO! This isn’t our fight!” He shouts again. Neither of the two look ready to flee. So he runs behind Brass while the arrow is stuck in his leg, hurtles forward and swings his axe with all of the hatred that he feels towards the cruel tribute. The axe swings true into Brass’ side. “WE’RE GOING NOW!” Felix shouts at the girls, pulling his axe away again. He’s ready to run for it. Felix Grayling rolled 8 dice to "Axing Brass + Willpower [11 - 3]" 3,5,10,5,2,5,9,10,10,6,8(5 successes)

As Lily raced past another pile of equipment she made a grab for the bag straps, only for the yell Felix made to cause her to stumble. As she fought to keep her balance (if she fell down in the Bloodbath she didn't fancy her odds of getting up again), her hand closed not around a canvas strap but something odd and rubbery that felt distinctly unpleasant under her fingers. However, with no time she could afford to correct her mistake, Lily settled for whatever object she'd grabbed instead.
Felix was starting to sound more frantic now. The tide of the Bloodbath must not be going in their favor. Lily afforded a brief glance behind her to see a male and a female hot on her heels. Wait, over there on that barrel was a set of throwing knives... just what Lily needed and only a quick detour needed to snag it.
Felix was calling for retreat... If this would be her only chance to get those knives...
Lily broke from her straight line run and darted towards the precious blades that would give her a much needed edge in the Games. They were right on the edge of the piles of equipment, she was small and fast, she could do it!

The Cornucopia / The Park
The Cornucopia is a towering structure that gleams gold in the afternoon sun. Stacks of goods and impressive weapons are arranged within that impressive arch. Outside, random bags and lone weapons are scattered to be picked over.
Looking out from the Cornucopia, the tributes leaving the killing field have three vastly different biomes facing them. The immediate north - west held greenery, the likes most of you had never seen. Strange trees with smooth brown trunks and topped with spikey green leaves swayed in the wind. Animal calls, strange and exotic, call out from the many shadows of the jungle. Green vines snake through the trees, falling out of sight.
The the immediate north was the grey spire that pierced the sky. It was a days walk in the distance. Smaller gray structures dot the ground at the spire's feet, stretching towards you. Those walls suggest a city that could hold shelter, safety and protection from the perils the arena.
To the north east was an immediate structure. It was a darkened building of wood and steel, appearing massive with three stories. It was dotted with streaked windows. A wire fence marked a yard, a strong looking gate hung ajar. No doubt someone could set the fence and try to survive.

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire” Always... Ember's eyes seemed to reply to Jan's unspoken request. Always until she was dead, or until he had to kill her. Even then, if they squared off, there would be no malice in that fight. They were kindred. Jan was the first person she felt remotely connected to since the death of her sister. “We'll cover you...” Ember said, her hands finding a backpack. “We should concentrate on districts 3, 6, 8, and any stranglers.”Ember whistled to Victoria. “Time to go hunting....” she called out to the career. Victoria wanted to kill, Ember wanted this to be done. She looked at Jasper. “Grumpy can you hit anyone from 3, 6, or 8?” Ember is still dodging anything coming at her this round. Def is at 8. She is also using her off-hand (her right hand) to attack so all of her attack rolls will be at a -2.[/spolier]

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer: The Boy with the Capitol Good Looks "Six. Going for Six. I'll get their attention and play bait. You all know what to do."Ford and Klover. That was who he was seeing right now. Ford and Klover, who were going through bags and playing the 'below the radar' game that he thought Jace would have played last year. Maybe he'd have lived if he had, but in the end... ...There was no time to think on that right now. Jan nodded at Ember, and took off toward the two, the knife in one hand and the bag in the other, strap across his chest as he ran toward them. Put himself between the two and in their visual. No one ignored Jan Colton. He wanted to be noticed. Because he was going to drag their attention toward himself, and away from his Alliance so that they could do their part. Time for them to show why you should never, ever let people like the four of them into a Game like this. Time to start making the Capitol choke on their 'love' for him. If things went the way he thought they would, and if they meshed as well as he thought they did? They'd see exactly what he was doing, even as he snagged a bag nearly right out of Ford's hand. Just as the other boy was about to make a grab? Jan snatched it, and then grinned. He knows he looks nearly feral, that 'flirtiness' bleeding out of his eyes and the cold ruthlessness bleeding into them. He's magnetic and even grinning like this, it's hard to resist. Jan's had his whole life to hone this skill. He was very, very good at getting what he wanted. And right now, he wanted them looking at him. "Come get it, if you're feeling hard enough." 2012-11-27 23:18:10 Jan Colton rolled 9 dice to "Presence + Persuasion + 1 (Striking Looks)" 9,10,4,8,8,3,5,5,8,9 (6 successes)
Jan will be going full defense this round. His current Defense is a 6

Brass Power, District 2 Male Brass took the arrow in stride. It hurt, but he’d been punched harder, and by someone closer to him than that. His father’d beaten him to within an inch of his life, had instilled within him a devastating desire to live and push through to win. He’d told everyone his father had fallen down those stairs. In truth, he’d shoved him down the stairs… and stomped on his throat just for good measure. The axe blow from Felix sets him on fire. His hot life spilling down his side and pain shooting through him. ”Bad move, Felix.”One problem, then the other. Archer, axeman, Coral. He took one long stride, shifting grips and bringing his sword up over his head and down like some gruesome, straight axe as he adopted the half-sword stance. He brings that sword down across Sassinak’s bow arm, somewhere between wrist and elbow. Brass Power rolled 14 dice to "Dearming Sassinak + WP" 4,4,3,5,6,10,8,1,4,5,9,5,9,9,3,5,6,1 (5 successes) Damage: 5 suxx + 2 damage from half-swording for a total of 7 He didn’t stop there, bringing the sword straight down through flesh, bone, and air. He spun, a graceful artist with his chosen medium of pain and steel. Still in the half-swording the langswert, he takes half a step and lashes with the tip of the sword right over the boy’s axe and across his eyes. Brass Power rolled 12 dice to "Blinding Felix +WP" 5,7,1,2,3,10,8,6,10,3,9,4,10,1,9,8,5 (7 successes) Damage: 7 suxx + 2 damage from half-swording for a total of 9 The maneuver was devastating and vicious in both strike and purpose… but it left Brass open. ”You chose poorly,” he shouted. Whether it was at Felix or Coral, he didn’t specify.

"Sassinak?" Coral inquired, noting the gushing blood from Sassinak's arm. Sassinak clutched at her arm, gritting her teeth in pain. She let out a choked sob for a half breath, making her evaluation through eyes welling with tears.
"Get my bow."
Coral cocked her head at the command, reaching for the bow on the ground in front of Sassinak. With no hand, how would- "Get it." Sassinak barked. "I've got Felix. "
Sassinak did grasp Felix's shoulder with her good arm, attempting a fireman's carry. Her hands were slick with her own blood and she couldn't get a grasp on him. Sassinak instead gripped Felix's left arm with her good arm, declaring.
"We're heading out. Felix, I've got your arm. Its going to be all right." Sassinak knew that Felix didn't know which way to run. The pain had to be excruciating. Her own hand was on fire.
"We need to run now. Can I steer you?" She led the way at a jog; holding tight to Felix's left arm. Sassinak wasn't certain how fast Felix could run in his condition. She needed to get a look at his eyes. She needed to check her own hand... Coral ran beside Sassinak and Felix, bow across her shoulder and chakram in hand.
"Half of three and eight is there." Jasper jerked his head to the fleeing back sides. Bailey, Roger, Galen and Lily had already put some distance between him and themselves. He could probably put an arrow in one. Yet he turned his gaze towards those nearer, looking at the squabbling, fighting tributes near Victoria. His eyes picked two of the tributes that Ember had named, pointing them out to Ember. He drew an arrow to his cheek, taking aim.
Not making attack rolls until we have Felix's post. Simply wanted to place some dialogue. If you wish to dialogue or attack, go ahead. I will make a GM post with full attacks after Felix's post

Boomer, District 5
The countdown ended and the blood began to flow. Boomer found himself paralyzed for a good minute on his platform, standing perfectly still as though that would save him from the violence. It had worked thus far, but his allies, as little as he might have wanted to be in it and have a target painted on his back. Fortunately the big career, Brass, was focused on 7 and 7 was making him bleed.
Boomer nearly vomited when he saw the vicious attacks happening around the arena. He sought out Lily, then bolted from his platform, snatching up a bag as he ran in her direction. He knew where he wanted to go, the spire, but didn't want to shout that across the arena.

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire” If Felix dies... Ember pushed that thought away. If the odds were in her favor she'd kill Brass. Slowly, if she had the time. But quick would work just as well so long as he was dead. However, that, she told herself would have to wait. Felix was blinded. Sassinak was hurt. Brass was still alive. Yet, Jan, Isolde, Jasper, and herself were safe for now. If Brass was a creature to his word they would be for next 24 hours. Then we see who's better... “Ford... Go for the guy from District 6,” Ember told Jasper and Isolde before she broke off, and circled around. Ember moved more gracefully than one would suspect; there was a fluidity with each step, like she was gliding more so than walking. She stopped when Ford was sandwiched between her and Jan. If went for the bait, they'd have him. She nodded to Jasper and then found Isolde and confirmed they were on the same page. If Ember is allowed to take an aiming action at Ford then I would like to do that. If not she's no longer dodging. She is also using her off-hand (her right hand) to attack so all of her attack rolls will be at a -2.
Ember Clay rolled 6 dice to "moving silently" 6,3,7,9,4,5 (1 successes)

Everything happens way too quickly. Felix had barely even turned to run before Brass speaks to him, and turns to Sassinak. Felix looks in horror as Brass’ sword slices straight through his district partner’s arm. Felix’s face twists in rage, and he is ready to raise his axe to decapitate the mother f***er. A flash of silver. And black. Then pain. Felix roars in pain, his arm covering his eyes as Brass’ sword cuts straight through them. A string of obscenities screams from his lips as he fiercely rubs his eyes. It would go away, right? The pain. The darkness? No. Felix can barely open his eyes, and when he does he sees nothing. No light would get in anymore. “SASSINAK!” Felix’s feral cry erupts from his mouth as he frantically searches for his partner. He hears Brass’ cruel comment, and he chooses not to spit at him because, hell, it wouldn’t help. He can imagine the leer on the disgusting boy’s face, and it’s all Felix could do to refrain from wildly swinging his axe in every direction. Her hand, the only one she had, grips onto his arm. Felix wants to look at her, but he can’t. He can’t see! He wants to cry, and punch Brass in the face. But Sassinak is leading him away. He doesn’t care anymore, he doesn’t care if he’s going to die. He’s just going to run, let her lead him away from this mess. If they die, so be it. "Because dying isn't scary... just all this blasted waiting..."Rory. The image of Rory emerges in his mind, and Felix pushes his pain and lack of sight away. “Run.” He chokes. He slides Sassinak’s hand down his arm and grips her hand tightly. “RUN!” He screams, “Take me as far as you can. If I fall, KEEP RUNNING. Coral, if you can get a bag while we run, do it. DON’T put yourself in danger to get one.”“Make sure Lily and Boomer see us. MAKE SURE THEY SEE US!” Felix can’t stand this anymore, not being able to see. He and Sassinak need to get out of there. He waits for Sassinak to start running, and allows her to guide him. He tries to keep up, having little to no bearing of his surroundings. “Your arm...” He repeatedly sobs, “Sass, your arm...”[Felix is dodging this round, he has his defense increased to 6 for all incoming damage. Hell, he needs it...]

With nobody pursuing her, Lily had no trouble grabbing the precious throwing knives she had so eagerly laid eyes on. A glance over in the direction of the others gave her relief as she was still being ignored, only for her heart to falter a beat or two, as she had a clear view of the damage done by Brass.
All courage failed, all plans faded, all reason shriveled away to be replaced with sheer undiluted fear as the horror truly sunk in for the first time. This wasn't going to be some game she could manipulate from the sidelines. This was bloody and real and all illusion of the proud victorious mastermind she saw herself becoming shattered. The harsh truth of reality sunk in - she was nothing more than a small little girl who was going to die, unloved and forgotten. She had been betrayed by her family, deceived by a system founded on lies and if she was lucky, her only reprieve would be a quick and merciful death.
A strangled cry of despair bubbled up in Lily's throat and choked on itself as she turned tail and ran for the meeting place they had all agreed on - the only potential bastion of safety left in the Arena.

"Yeah..." Sassinak responded as Felix agonized about his sight and her arm.
"Its going to be all right. We're not dead."
"We could attack Brass. He's not looking great." Coral remarked, jogging beside Sassinak.
"Do we look great?" Sassinak didn't slow her pace. "We'll make a plan up ahead, once we get some distance. Please keep an eye out for us."
"There. That factory."
"Surely they'll check it."
"It will take them time to get through that fence. Enough for us to bind our wounds and be on our way." As they reached a treeline, Sassinak pulled Felix behind the tree and stood beside him.
"There are three options..." Sassinak whispered to Felix. "There is a jungle, a factory with a gate that could lock and a ruined city. Where do you think we should go?"
"The bow is useless to me. I'll trade you for the chakram."
"Be careful, Sass. You only have one hand to catch it. Don't misjudge the catch."
Felix could hear some muffled sounds and assumed that the girls were exchanging weapons.

Brass Power, District 2 Male
Brass's gambit had paid off. He'd disarmed Sassinak and blinded Felix, and his blood ran hot as they fled from him. But he was far from done with this pursuit. He'd started it, and intended to at least partially finish it, despite whatever Coral'd said.
He looked to Eclypse. "Come on." And he jerked his head at the fleeing tributes before taking off after them. His side hurt, and Sassinak's arrow would need to be removed soon, but not before he'd put the hurt on one or more of them even further. His battle lust was running high and he had every intent of following through with it.

The Factory... she'd be safe there... they'd agreed...
Lily's heart pounded in her chest in time with her footsteps on the ground, the iron fence of the factory looming up in the distance as she ran, paying no heed to whatever nightmare was going on behind her.
Lily has left the Bloodbath and fled for the Factory

Savannah saw that the big tribute's attention was elsewhere, on chasing those sevens. Excitement and a bit of madness in her eyes, she lopped a knife towards Brass. The knife found purchase in Brass' left shoulder. Savannah rolled 10 dice to "Attacking Brass" 6,2,1,3,2,3,9,6,9,10,6 (3 successes) The large tribute Victoria intercepted a girl racing towards Brass holding another throwing knife. The quick action cost her secure footing and Victoria slapped Savannah across the cheek. Victoria rolled 11 dice to "Attacking Savannah" 1,7,10,5,3,7,7,3,2,4,3,6 (1 successes) Bogart saw the attack on Brass and stepped in to assist Victoria. He leveled a powerful punch to Savannah's jaw. The girl stumbled, but her eyes remained open. Bogart had not managed to connect with the punch properly. Bogart rolled 11 dice to "Attacking Savannah" 9,4,2,3,2,8,6,5,2,7,9 (3 successes) Isolde spotted the chance to assist in killing a girl already wounded. If it put her in better with the careers and the non aggression pact, why not? Isolde loosed an arrow at Savannah. Isolde rolled 9 dice to "Attacking Savannah" 10,9,10,9,1,3,3,3,4,3,8 (5 successes) On the floor of the cornucopia, Glory is still atop Klover. Her knife arcs down with a spray of hot red blood as it pierces Klover's chest. Glory rips the knife free and prepares a killing blow. Klover makes a terribly piteous sound, too weak to escape. Glory rolled 11 dice to "Stabbing Klover with knife (throat)" 9,6,6,9,9,10,9,4,3,1,5,2 (5 successes ) Jasper followed through with his attack, loosing his arrow. It flew true, striking Ford in the right shoulder. Ford bellowed with pain, but was still mobile. Jasper rolled 8 dice to "Shooting Ford" 3,8,3,6,10,1,6,2,3 (2 successes) Jasper's victim wasn't pleased with the attack and recipropcated with an arrow at Jasper. It grazed Jasper's left forearm. Ford rolled 5 dice to "Shooting Jasper wp" 7,4,6,7,8 (1 successes) Lacey surveyed the Cornucopia warily, stooping to scoop up an empty water skin from the floor. Sensing an approach, she warily jabbed her staff at the approaching district nine tribute. Jan didn't back down in keeping watch over the girl beside Lacey, Isolde. Lacey set her jaw, surveying her rival. Spotting a backpack at the tribute's feet - and a weapon that her alliance could use in the tribute's hand- Lacey adjusted her grip on the staff. She wasn't going to back down. On the contrary - Lacey went on the offensive, iniating a specialized attack. Her staff snapped out at Jan's temple. If performed correctly, it would have sent jan crashing to the Corncuopia floor, unconscious. Lacey misjudged the blow however and gave Jan a stern tap with the blunt staff. Lacey kept her staff at the ready as she stooped, outstretching her hand for valuable gear. Lacey rolled 7 dice to "Temple Strike (••) on Jan" 7,1,10,6,9,5,9,7 (3 successes) Beside Lacey, Marsh snatched something from the cornucopia floor. He spotted Ember directing the archer and moved into attack the knife wielder. His technique was sloppy if earnest. Marsh rolled 4 dice to "Sword fighting with Ember" 3,7,7,8 (1 successes) Roger, Lacey's alliance mate, made a shot for the second person closest to Lacey. He was making a looping motion, and it made Roger nervous. So nervous that his arrow streaked right past Jan. Roger rolled 4 dice to "shooting Jan" 3,6,1,3 (0 successes) Eclypse saw Brass' pursuit and took off to aid his alliance. He had poor footing and stumbled on the initial jog, falling well behind the column of tributes. Eclypse rolled 1 dice to "Chasing Sass and co on a chance die" 8 (1 successes)
Coral spotted the pursuit and shouted- "Faster! Run! They're coming!" to Felix and Sassinak. Sassinak kept hold of Felix's arm, steering him towards the factory. Blinded, Felix stumbled several times but managed to keep moving. Coral, with her apprehension and glances back towards Brass and Eclypse, was the one who fell furthest behind. Sassinak and Felix crossed the fence into the factory yard. "Keep running straight!" Sassinak encouraged Felix, letting go of his arm. She reached for the lock around the fence, looking anxiously back at the three running tributes. "Lily." Sassinak panted. Her face was beginning to pale, blood dripping from her empty sleeve. "Can you help me lock the gate once Boomer and Coral are in? Where is Boomer?" As Sassinak speaks, she spots Boomer reaching the gate. The boy from five would see Coral's two pursuers, Brass and Eclypse. Would he run into the gate and the factory, or streak away from the career into the ruined city or jungle? Sassinak rolled 8 dice to "Foot chase" 8,9,1,9,1,5,9,8 (5 successes) Coral rolled 7 dice to "Footchase" 1,6,5,6,8,2,2 (1 successes) Felix Grayling rolled 5 dice to "Stanima + Athletics -1" 5,2,10,4,1,8 (2 successes)

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire” Not now... Ember moved passed the giant of a tribute, intent on getting to her first target. Besides, she wasn't going to take this big man by herself. No. They had to be smart about this. Clever. Because her work wasn't down yet. It was her hope that the giant of a tribute would notice his district mate being killed before his eyes. But that even so, Ember had her sights on Ford. She swooped up something as she rushed toward him and clipped him to her belt with ease. I'll try to make this quick. That was the only thing she could promise. A quick and relatively painless death. The neck... Ember let out a war cry and sliced at Ford's neck. “Grumpy! Keep the giant off my ***!” she called out, studying Ford before she figured out what she'd do next. HG 26 - Ember Clay rolled 9 dice to "attacking Ford (9+Aim 1-Def 1-3 for Neck Shot+WP)" 3,7,5,1,10,5,9,2,3,9 (3 successes) Ember's using her off-hand still. Hit Points: 20/ 21Willpower: 5/ 6Inventory:- Two finely rolled cigars (District Token)
- Knife +1
- Empty backpack
- Arm Bracers [Armor: 1]
- Full water skin

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer Tribute: The Boy With the Capitol Good Looks That..actually hurt. In another life, Jan would have raised his hand to the side of his head. Because he probably got cuffed by his father or mother for mouthing off. Or because one of the boys at school had been picking on Jace or Max or Sam, and had gotten a lucky hit in before Jan beat him half-bloody.... But this? This was the Cornucopia, and he didn't have time for this. His job was to kill as many people as he could. Take out as many as he could... ....And did she just hit him in the head? Seriously? Just...tap him in the head with a big freaking stick? "My Pa cuffed me harder when I was picking on my kid brother. Nice try."The arrow that buzzed by him was ignored. Jan would get to that later. He feinted to one side, waiting for her to follow before he threw his weight forward instead of right, lunging out with the dagger and stabbing forward. Into her face. 2012-11-30 05:16:24 Jan Colton rolled 8 dice to "Weaponry + Strength + Specialty + Knife - 1 -3 (Called SHot to the face) (Spetnaz 2) + 3 (Willpower)" 1,10,6,5,10,4,10,10,5,8,1,6 (5 successes)

"Stick to the plan!" Lacey shouted to Cotton, pointing towards the treeline where many of the other tributes had fled to. "Get them moving!" Her voice was odd sounding, the words not quite formed right. A hand to the side of her face came back red and sticky. Something stuck to her hand... something that was supposed to still be attached to her face. The left side of her face was red and there was a sickly looking abscess in her left cheek. Perhaps the knife had actually torn the cheek away. Cotton looked pained; but obeyed the call. He streaked towards the tree line. [Cotton is dodging this round, defense of 6 ] Ford grasped his bleeding neck and a surprised expression overtook him. His pale face molded with resolve and he came at Ember with surprising ferocity. Ford rolled 5 dice to "Attacking Ember all out attack " 2,7,9,8,4 (2 successes) No defense this round
Lacey redoubled her attack on the boy who had damaged her face. Lacey rolled 12 dice to "All out attack on Jan Temple Strike" 1,10,6,5,10,10,2,9,9,3,8,5,8,6,1 (7 successes)
Temple Strike (••): Your character brings her staff against the side of her adversary’s head. The normal –3 penalty to hit the head still applies, but if the damage meets or exceeds the target’s Size, the target falls unconscious for a number of turns equal to the damage done. This damage is usually bashing, as it is meant to be performed with a blunt staff. The damage can be performed with a bladed weapon such as the naginata, however. The effect is the same, but the damage is now lethal instead of bashing. No defense this round The blow connected solidly with Jan's skull, sending him pitching backwards. He fell unconscious as he hit the ground. Roger, ever the insane opportunist, attempted to harm Ember. His blade carved a long scratch on Ember's forearm. Roger rolled 5 dice to "Attacking Ember all out attack " 7,9,3,5,8 (2 successes) No defense this round Isolde spotted the boy targetting her alliance and loosed an arrow in his direction. It lodged solidly in his right shoulder. Isolde rolled 10 dice to "Attacking Roger" 1,1,9,10,2,8,10,6,2,5,6,4 (4 successes) The archer loped into a sprint, working to reach her fallen district mate. Marsh gave a sharp cry of alarm as Savannah stumbled away from her attackers. Her brother swept the badly wounded girl up in his arms and began to run towards the ruined city, quitting the blood bath. "Cut them down!' Victoria shouted to Glory, indicating the surviving stragglers. Glory abandoned Klover's corpse and turned her head, noting Brass and Eclypse's absence. Seeing that the sevens looked badly injured, she assumed that the boys would wipe them up. She turned her attention back to the blood bath. Glory approached the wounded boy, creating a sharp gash across his neck. Roger began to choke and fell to his knees. Glory lifted her knife, prepared to finish the job. Glory rolled 6 dice to "Attacking Roger neck" 2,3,10,8,3,5,6 (2 successes) Bogart saw Eclypse and Brass departure and grabbed Jasper's arm, signalling the retreating sevens. "Shoot them!" "Not my priority." Jasper barked, turning his attention towards the boy attacking his partner. The boy had moved by then and Jasper lowered his bow, unable to take a good shot. He began to circle the pair, hoping for the boy to become farther from Ember. Bogart snorted and sprinted after Brass.

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer: The Boy with the Capitol Good Looks
It was a good hit. Took a nice chunk of her cheek with his knife. Pieces of her were hanging off the end of it. Blood and viscera...you saw it on the broadcasts every year, but that was nothing compared to what it felt like to push your hand with a knife into soft, unwilling flesh and destroy it.
There was something sick about taking pleasure in that. Something very sick, but the way Jan figured? The sick half-feral grin that plastered itself on his face when he looked on his handiwork would get the Capitol Sponsors all sorts of excited....
...The next hit to the side of his head was harder. Hard enough that he lost his footing, seeing stars.
And then, it's black.
He'd said goodbye to this place. To this field. Even as he stood up and dusted himself off. Waist high barley.
"No."
That voice. He knew that voice. Hadn't heard it--really heard it--in over a year. Melodic and soft. Unburdened, and even as Jan turned, he felt tears in his eyes.
"Jace?"
Still shorter. In that same jacket he'd died in. District 9 on the sleeve. It didn't match Jan's, but then...they never used the same design twice.
"Jan." His younger twin looked...confused. "It's not time yet. Why are you here?"
Jan's mouth worked a little, and he took a step forward. Another. Until they were face to face, and his hands were on either side of his twin-brother's face. "I've missed you. You have no idea how much...."
"...It's not your time yet, Jan. It's not time. You need to wake up. It's important that you wake up. Please."
"But...I don't want to leave you."
"I'm not going anywhere. I'm waiting here. For you. But it's not time yet. You have to go. You promised. Remember?"
"Jace..."
"Your work isn't done. Remember? You were meant for better things. Bigger things. Important things. You have to go. You have to wake up. You have to.
"You're alone."
"That's the thing, Jan. I'm not alone. People pass through here all the time. I take them to where they need to be, and I wait. Right here. Until it's time. "...but it's not time for you yet, Jan. There's still so much you need to do. Please, Jan. Wake up. You have to.
"Ember needs you. Isolde. Jaspar. They need you."
"But I need you. You need me."
Jace smiled a little, one hand resting on Jan's arm. "Jan, you never needed me, and I don't need anything anymore. I'm safe now. No one can ever hurt me ever again. Your friends aren't so lucky. You need to wake up.
"You need to wake up."
"Jace..."
"Wake up!" He got the distinct feeling he was being shaken. By Jace.
...Maybe by someone else too.
