« Thread Started on Nov 27, 2012, 10:11am » To the north east was an immediate structure. It was a darkened building of wood and steel, appearing massive with three stories. It was dotted with streaked windows. A wire fence marked a yard, a strong looking gate hung ajar. No doubt someone could set the fence and try to survive. Immediately behind the factory was a stair case leading down, out of sight. Something hummed down there; something that sounded like electricity.

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire” Everything hurt and Ember was bleeding. She put Jan down and rushed inside to the factory, mindful of the traps. She headed to the plant lady and that machine. The machine would tell them what was wrong. And maybe whatever had healed the woman could heal them all too. Ember could only hope. If not, I'm dead tomorrow come noon.Ember looked up to find Boomer carrying in Lily. He looked like he had seen a ghost. "Boomer... BOOMER!" Ember shouted. When he didn't answer her, she shook his shoulders. "You killed someone. Accept it and move on or the Lil' Bit is dead. Do get me? Now get it together and help me." She pointed a table in the center, cringing when she lifted her arm. "Good... Now go. It's full dark now. We need to heal, eat, drink, and sleep. Don't worry about anything else and make more of those bombs." She looked at Lily and then her foot before retrieving one of the medkits. "Lie back, Lil' Bit..." Ember said, stroking the young girl's hair back and out of her face. "I've got you. And it's gonna be okay." Ember Clay rolled 7 dice to "Using tool" 6,6,6,2,8,1,8 (2 successes)
Armor: Clothes: Weapons: Gear: Hit Points: 20/ 21Willpower:0/ 6 Boomer: District Five Male Tribute, “The Crafter” Boomer blinked twice before he acknowledged Ember and did what was ask of him. Bailey's death had shaken him. Hopefully there was a silver lining that he wasn't seeing yet. He just knew he felt sick to his stomach. It was supposed to have been Brass or Eclyspe. Not Bailey. He looked at Lily and then nodded to Ember before disappearing to look for more explosive components.

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer: The Boy Who Would Watch the World Burn
His arm was numb.
Hopefully, this wasn't permanent. Or at the very least they could find a way to fix it. If this was permanent, he was royally f***ed. So was Ember. So was Lily.
"Izzy. You alright?" There's a look to his District partner, who he didn't think took any wounds, but he couldn't be sure.
He flexed his fingers. or he thought he flexed his fingers. His mind told him that he had, but looking down at his hand they didn't move. At all. He couldn't feel them, and there's that rising edge of panic in his throat.
"Did anyone see where the others got off to?"

As Boomer laid Lily down, she could help but feel a rising sense of panic as she noticed the poor male accidentally smack her foot off a bedpost... made worse by the fact she wouldn't have noticed had she not seen it happen. Whatever was in the darts was an effective paralyzing agent inde...
Paralyzing. She'd read that somewhere before. Recently. As Ember attempted to get the diagnostic pool by the Plant Lady working on her foot, Lily's eyes shot wide open as an epiphany of immense proportions cut through the haze clouding her mind.
"My bag! Pass me my bag!"

As Ember ran the tool down Lily's foot, she heard the computer speaker begin to 'speak'. 'The Euonymus Plant has red colored leaves that are coated with liquid extracted by the plant. Touching the liquid will cause paralysis and if left for several minutes untreated, will cause hallucinations and complete paralysis. ' The picture on the monitor changed to rinsing the affected area with clean water, then a gloved hand scrubbed away the red flecks. A clock was shown ticking by four hours... and then the same image of the skin was shown, panning out to show a smiling young man.

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire” I can't do this... Ember thought her eyes welling. She looked away for a moment, closing her eyes. Mom was right... I am weak. Then she heard it. "Straighten up, Little Soldier..." Her sister's soothing voice, filled her senses. "What you cryin' 'bout? You still got me."Ember's shoot up and looking around for the voice, for her sister. She saw her in the corner, draped in all white. In district 12 people wear white to funerals. It's a mourning color to the people of D12. And Cinder was standing in the plant room wearing the dress that Ember had put her to rest in. "Sis?...." Tears rolled down her cheek. Cinder nodded. "It's me, Lil' Soldier... I'm going to see you through this..." "I can't-- I'm." "You are not weak. Feeling something isn't a weakness. It's your greatest source of strength, Emmy. You have to be the Heart. You have to make sure that you all don't loose your humanity. That's your job. Your destiny. Don't forget you have a mission." Cinder told her. She glanced at Jan. "I like him... He's cute... And when he looks at you, he sees you. He sees you, like I did... Ember, I have to go." Ember shook her head. The tears were coming more steadily now. "No... Please don't go, I need you, Sister. Please... Please don't leave me again." A single tear rolled down Cinder's face. "I'm sorry, Emmy. I have to. But I'm always with you in here." She put her hand on her heart. "I love you. Stay strong..." Ember nodded and wiped the tears away. She looked at her team and sighed, shaking her head. "Whatever poisoned us is progressing... I just saw the ghost of my dead sister." When Ember looked at the monitor, she sighed. It wasn't real. She already knew that but there had been a part of her that wished that was the case. "We need water and gloves." None
Armor: Clothes: Weapons: Gear: Hit Points: 14/ 21Willpower:0/ 6 Boomer: District Five Male Tribute, “The Crafter” Boomer rushed back in when he heard Lily yell. At first he thought something was wrong. But it wasn't that. Lily had been calling for her bag and so he quickly gave it to her. "What is it? What's going on? How can I help?"

"I've got a jar of water in my bag." Lily rummaged, retrieving it with a smile. All they needed was water and gloves? Simple fix...
"Boomer, find some gloves or something we can cover our hands with... we need to tend to Ember first if she's seeing things already."

Finding gloves wasn't too hard - Boomer came back with two pairs of thick leather gloves. Lily, Ember and Jan were starting to feel light headed, however. Ember suddenly had the impression that she was very, very thirsty. She drained the water from her skin and then started to eye the untreated water in Lily's jar.
Jan felt as though his shoulder was twitching, although it didn't seem to be moving at all. But it was twitching. Was that a bug on his shoulder? A nasty looking black beetle with nasty looking pinchers?"
"Jan?" Isolde frowned, looking at the arm that Jan was studying. "Are you feeling all right?"
Isolde gestured to Boomer and Lily. "Start rinsing off Ember." She donned one of the pairs of gloves and studied Jan's shoulder. Grabbing a medical kit, she stated. "This kits on its last legs. Someone better go get one of the others from the bag."
Picking out the trauma gauze and iodine, she doused Jan's wound with iodine. It burned terribly. She then gripped the miniature dart and pulled it out, pressing gauze over the bleeding. "Its not a deep wound. It should heal quickly." She encouraged. After one more painful rinse with iodine, she began to pick at Jan's skin with the forceps. Each movement felt like a needle jabbing into Jan, but Isolde repeatedly told him to hold still so that she could work. She rubbed the forceps off on another piece of gauze which quickly began to become stained with blood and flecks of red plant. Isolde cleaned the forceps with a dab of iodine every few moments, working for several minutes.
"There." She sat back and wiped her sweating brow. She pressed a clean pad to Jan's wound and bandaged it. After cleaning the forceps, she moved to sit beside Ember.
"Where's the medical kit?" She asked. "We have four more, don't we?"

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire” "I'm fine..." As soon as she said it, Ember felt the earth move... and not in the good way. She leaned against the wall and drained her waterskin. The thirst was just too much. Much too much... She chuckled. That was funny. Too funny. "Hold it together, Emmy..." "I'm trying..." Ember shut her eyes and shook her head. "Okay... maybe I was wrong. 'Cause Cindy's still a-talkin'... Tellin' me to be strong... Funny, she don't even look dead. Still pretty..." Ember slide down to the ground and rolled her head toward Jan. "She likes you. Said you were cute..." She flashed a very sad smile. "I wish she was still here..." She glanced at Lily and Boomer. "Help... Get... Get the medkits... They are in the gear bag with the emergency candles and night vision goggles." "Ah!" She swore as the poison coursed through her. "I'm gonna... I'm not gonna... I think I might be dyin'..." Dying was not at all what she excepted. For starters it hurt too much. None
Armor: Clothes: Weapons: Gear: Hit Points: 14/ 21Willpower:0/ 6 Boomer: District Five Male Tribute, “The Crafter” Boomer ran and got the medkits where Ember had dreamily told them they would be. He brought two just in case. But when he looked at them he realized that he didn't now a thing about medicine. "Do I just wash out all of the red flecks?"

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer: The Boy Who Would Watch the World Burn
Bug.
A big bug. With pincers, and Jan tried to swat it off his shoulder in a way that was reminiscient of one of those girls in the Capitol, though he'd seen them do that with ants and other bugs that were hardly deadly. If this thing pinched him, it would hurt. Bad.
Just a bug, Janus-baby. It's alright.
"No, Ma...It's not. It's..." HE blinked. He was in the Arena. Ma was nowhere near here. Neither was Pa. No one..no one was here with him, and he felt the fear well up in the back of his throat in a sort of backward sob.
Jan a year ago would have been terrified of this place.
"There's a bug. Izzy. There's a bug. With pincers." It was a big bug too, but Izzy must have brushed it off because she was working on his shoulder. Pulled something out of it, and then he jumped because whatever she did burned.
"...She says I'm cute?" It was hot and cold. Hot and cold, and he kept jerking. "I can't feel my hand."
You're gonna be fine, Jan. Too familiar and too melodic, and blue. So blue. That stupid District 9 jacket....
"Go home."
I'm waiting.
"My wrist. Got cut on my wrist. Glory got me. I can't feel it but I know it's there."

"You don't know any medicine?" Isolde frowned. "Okay Boomer, I'm starting to worry about Ember. She's talking about dying.. so I need you to sit Ember and Lily side by side on that bed." She pointed to the cot by the medical device. "Then come over here and start washing out Jan's cut with this iodine. Give me that kit." She opened one of the two kits that he had brought and handed Boomer an iodine bottle and compass.
"Work on cleaning it out really well. He's going to twitch and move because it hurts and he's not in his right mind. Now I'll be right here beside you so grab me if you get nervous."
She leaned over and squeezed Jan's good shoulder. "It is going to be okay. Try not to think about the pain. Tell me about district nine, okay? Remember Kal?" She smiles. "My sweet heart? I'd love to hear more about your family."
Isolde moved to sit beside Ember, brushing her hair to the side of her face. "Hey, Ember. You're not going to die. Now this is going to hurt... so I need you to listen. Jan's going to tell us about his family. Now theres' a lot of them, so you need to pay attention." A sweet smile. "There might be a quiz at the end."
Isolde inspected Ember's wound, dousing it with iodine. She squeezed Ember's shoulder when she flinched and mercilessly pulled the arrow, tossing it to the other side of the factory. She flushed the area with iodine for several minutes before plucking up the forceps. Isolde did the same routine that she had with Jan, plucking out flecks of red from the wound. It took several minutes and they went through two pads to absorb the blood, but the wound was superficial.
Isolde pressed her water skin to Ember's lips, helping her to drink some more. "Lay down now." She eased Ember down on her side - keeping the arrow wound up. Isolde leaned over to look at Lily's face, inquiring.
"How are you feeling?"

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer: The Boy Who Would Watch the World Burn[/u][/color]
Everyone knew the Coltons.
The legendary Colton Patience--which didn't inherit, that was for certain. The 'Colton Eyes'-Those incredible blue, blue eyes. The barley fields and the ridiculous amount of children...
He jumped a little, wincing. Izzy was trying to help him keep his mind off this and he knew that. Somewhere, he knew that. Being out of his head like this wasn't something he had anticipated. With anyone else, this would probably be a death sentence.
Thank The One for The Wolf Pack.
"There's Pa. Josiah. He's hard. He's patient. S'a good Dad. And then Ma. She's....pretty. Everyone says I get my looks from her. Got nothin' else though. Ma's nice. I'm not 'nice'. I'm Jan...."
Izzy mentioned Kal, and he instinctively wrinkled his nose. "Kal. Kalvin. Oldest. Got that swanky new job at the brewery last year after he didn't get Reaped, and he's got some money now. He won't take the farm. Pa was hopin'. After Jace...died, he was hopin' Kal would take the farm. Probably not gonna happen.
"Then Ally. Allison. She's pretty too. Got Ma's looks. Kind of girlish. She's already made a Match and is gettin' married after The Games. Then there's me." He smiled then. Him. Janus. "Jan'. "Pretty as a picture. Didn't get the Colton Patience though.
"Five minutes later came...came Jace." He felt his eyes well up, and hated himself for it. For the uncontrolled way it happened. He'd kept himself cold all this time, and now he was poisoned it was completely impossible to control it. "Five minutes made all the difference. Five minutes, and he was ten better than me. Old Soul, Pa always said. An Old Soul and Ma's Pa's voice.
"He wanted simple. Wanted a life as a farmer, with a woman who loved him and a passel of kids and grandkids. Didn't happen though...."
Jan wiped across his eyes. That was enough about Jace. Everyone knew what they wanted to know about 'The Noble and Tragic Jace Colton'. "Maxine. Max. My baby-sister. She's smart...oh..too smart for any of you. Like Jace though. Not as pretty and not as 'out there', but she'd be so much better at all this. She's got all the Patience. All the Fire. She's...she's my favorite.
"And then Sam. Sammy. Everyone underestimates Sammy. He'll surprise us all one day..."
He hoped. Jan hoped he was around to see it. For the first time since the Games started....
...He wasn't afraid to die, but he really, really wasn't in a rush to do it either.
"District 9...it's like Gold. Jace used to say it was 'Fields of Gold'. He had this song he'd sing. You'll remember me when the West Wind moves, Among the Fields of Barley...." Jan sang it. Not nearly as pretty as Jace might, and half-poisoned as he was, it was a little off-key. "...You can tell the sun, in it's jealous sky, that we walked in Fields of Gold'.
"Life is in Grain. Did you know? The One gave us grain to give us Life. That's why it's so beautiful. Every parcel of bread that everyone eats. From wheat to rice to the barley the Colton's grow...
"...It's Life. Just like the Rain. The One...The One is in The Rain.."

"Hmm?" Lily looked up at Isolde, a hazy glazed look to her eyes as she saw not the tribute's face but a friend of hers from District Five. "I'm fine thank you Susan..."

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire” It burned. It hurt so much. But something inside her told her that this was good. This was a good pain. She was feeling better. "You did good when you chose these two... and Lily... She reminds me of you..." "I know... that's why... she's one of mine..." Ember rolled her head toward Isolde. "Sorry... Such a baby right now... Thank you, Isolde." She giggled. "A quiz... ha... was never did so well with those..."She mumbled thank you repeatedly as Izzy eased her on her side, listening to Jan talk. "Lily... make sure Lily is okay..."Ember's eyes fluttered shut and soon she was sleeping, soundly. None
Armor: Clothes: Weapons: Gear: Hit Points: 14/ 21Willpower:0/ 6 Boomer: District Five Male Tribute, “The Crafter” Boomer did what was asked of him. He worked carefully on Jan's wound, washing it out thoroughly. "Sounds beautiful, Jan. District 5 isn't that beautiful. The sky isn't blue... It's a brownish grey..." He told the other boy as he finished up. He handed Jan a waterskin and told him to drink up. "Factories are everywhere. So much noise. Never really noticed how much until I got on the train. Now, it's too quiet. I almost can't think because it's so quiet." Once he was finished, Boomer looked over at Lily and regret washed over his features. He had killed Bailey. He did that. "I'm going to check the perimeter and then I should work on making us a few things." He told Isolde. "We need a stretcher for all this gear. And I'd like to make you guys a few arrows... You know as a thank you for all you've done."

Isolde listened to Jan's tale, giving him her attention as he talked about his parents and Kal. She checked up on Boomer's work on his wrist, making sure that it was clean and well bandaged. She then turned to Lily, ensuring that Boomer had performed the same ministrations that she had for Jan and Ember. Once Ember was cleaned up and bandaged, Isolde tucked both girls into the cot in the Medicine room. "You're going to be all right." She assured the three, although she wasn't really certain that was true. "I've never heard of any plant that Lily mentioned, but you wern't hurt for that long before we cleaned you up." It was the truth and Isolde thought the truth would sound sweeter than empty assurances.
"Thank you." Isolde said to Boomer as she rubbed her eyes. The stress of tending all of the wounded was taxing. Enlisting Boomer's help, she set up Jan with a sleeping bag on the floor and herself beside him. Setting her bow and arrows beside her right leg, she sat back upright against the cot beneath Ember and Lily and closed her eyes.
Boomer straightened and walked out to the perimeter. The twilight had completely retreated into blackness. The horn and the black tree line were the only visible landmarks. Glancing towards the trees where the careers, Lacey's group and Felix's group remain; Boomer saw a small figure at the base of the tree line. The tribute advances closer and is joined by another. Boomer is perhaps contemplating calling Isolde awake when he sees a glint.
The night vision goggles. That meant these two were surely the well - stocked careers. The two progress several minutes forward before they pause in the open field, at least a five minute run away. Isolde hears Boomer's call and leans out of the security room window, rubbing her sleepy eyes. She dons Jan's night vision goggles and sees Eclypse and Brass clearly. She picks up her bow and is stringing an arrow when a sudden light jabbed a pain into her skull.
Ripping off the goggles, she shrieked in pain as she rubbed her eyes. Boomer saw the electric lantern lifted up and waved it, before the light moved back towards the Forrest. "I think they're done..." He checked on Isolde, who was irritable. "I'm going to bed." She handed Boomer the goggles. "Be careful."
The next morning, the three wake up as dawns' light streaks in through the window. Boomer slumbers beside Jan in his sleeping back, a canvas satchel holding some arrows. Isolde is in the security room, keeping watch. She looks tired, but resolute. The tributes feel very hungry and thirsty...

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire” Ember awoke with a massive thirst. Before she did anything however, she filled everyone's waterskin. She placed one beside Lily's sleeping form and Ember checked her forehead to see if there was any warmth. She was sweaty... That was good. Ember drained her waterskin as she approached Isolde, filling her ally's waterskin as well. "Sweetpea... Take a nap. I'll try and to roast this pig, then I'll wake you up." She crossed over to Jan. She brushed the hair from his forehead and sat next to him with a full waterskin in hand. "Raise and shine, Charming... And no, this isn't Heaven... Though, it's sweet that you think I'm such an angel," She said to him. None
Armor: Clothes: Weapons: Gear: Hit Points: 14/ 21Willpower:0/ 6 Boomer: District Five Male Tribute, “The Crafter” Boomer awoke feeling uneasy. He had dry heaved during his watch, thinking about Bailey's death at his hands. Then there was Brass and Eclypse. He'd have to give his report. He accepted the waterskin from Ember with a gracious thank you and waited for everyone to wake up. "I have to tell you all that the careers scooped us out last night."

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer: The Boy Who Would Watch the World Burn
He'd still been talking when Isolde made him lay down last night. Had still been talking when he'd fallen asleep, which probably had everyone laughing because he was so drugged and tripping that he was probably saying things that made no sense.
So waking up to Ember and a full water-skin made him smile, and he wasn't feeling nearly as out-of-it as he had been last night. He also didn't want to know what he'd said, though if he won this thing he'd probably be seeing over and over again a moment that most definitely wasn't his finest.
"Morning, Sunshine. And Heaven? I doubt I'd be this thirsty if this were heaven. Nice view to wake up to though." He took a drink of his water, and caught himself drinking too much at first before he slowed himself down.
And then Boomer spoke, and he looked up at the other boy. "...They were scoping us out, huh? So when we go to be with Ember when she rips Eclypse apart, we should probably not come back here.
"What time is it?"

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire” Ember blushed, running a surprisingly steady hand through Jan's hair. To think that she would have dismissed him for so many reasons had they'd grown up in the same District. He was too young, too pretty, too... As of right now the only thing that stood in their way was that only one of them would make it out alive. She wondered if their happily-ever after could only happen if she and Jan didn't side-by-side and the last thing any of them saw was Isolde being taken by the hovercrafts to victory. "You sure know how to sweet talk a girl, Charming..." She replied, trying not to blush. Ember smiled despite herself. Jan did have a gift. It wasn't just what he said, it was how he said it. "It's five hours until midday." Ember nodded at Jan's words. "Rule number one of war: if your enemy knows where you are... don't be there," she said to the group. She was all for not coming back to this place. She looked through the bag. "We only have enough water for three to last a day. Meaning that with five it'll be a half of day. So when/if I kill Captain Sucks-at-life we need water. Maybe we'll get lucky and a sponsor will send us some but I doubt it... Lemme go prepare that pig." Ember's ready to go fight.
Armor: Clothes: Weapons: Gear: Hit Points: 14/ 21Willpower:1/ 6 Boomer: District Five Male Tribute, “The Crafter” Boomer nodded. "I think we should go with you. Lily and I don't have our alliance with us anymore. And Felix trusted you guys. He spoke very highly of you all... While we wait for midday, I'll craft some arrows for you guys. And something to help carry all of that gear."

Lily looked up from her browsing through of the information packet on the Plant room.
"It makes sense to join you as far as I'm concerned. Going it alone by ourselves is just asking to be picked off next and I might be young but I'm not stupid enough to walk to my death."
Lily closed the information packet with a sigh.
"Okay, I'm sorry but I can't work out what the black spiky plant with blue fruit is. This doesn't seem to mention anything on it, but if it's labeled in red then it's dangerous in some shape or form. The vine could either be part of the Python Plant that strangles or part of the Carnivorous Plant that eats flesh, but either way they can only be hurt by a weapon provided at the Cornucopia. However, that red flower spurting the pink stuff? It's definitely an Euonymus, which basically means it's the one that made the paralyzing toxin we got hit with yesterday. Might be worth coating our weapons in it perhaps?"
Lily let that idea sink in for a moment before she continued.
"The green labeled plants might be useful... there's a fern, what looks like an aspirin tree and and some pink flower producing a haze in the container... I assume it must be beneficial somehow. I'll keep reading and see if I missed anything amongst the masses of text."

Lily was unable to find mention of either plant in the text. She did recall that she had three vials sent to her - did she want to collect samples? Boomer had been able to manufacture arrows and the stretcher needed to transport their many goods in the hours leading up to the face off between Ember and Eclypse. Isolde took the opportunity now that her alliance was awake to rest for a luxurious three hours. Someone mentioned cooking the pig; and the rest of the pig was consumed.
Any one checking the stocks to tie them to the stretcher noted that a fifth of the food had been consumed. Would the food stay behind at the factory? Which of the gear would stay behind? As preparations were made, the sun progressed across the sky. The heat began to rise so that sweat began to drip from ones' forehead.
"Its nearly noon." Isolde noted, checking the progress of the sun. "I assume that we're going with Ember. We should get going."
Any one looking over at the horn should make a perception roll...

As time progressed steadily towards midday and the planned conflict with the Careers at the Horn, Lily made little to no progress. Abandoning her difficult trek through the information packets, she gathered up the vials and the syringe that she had originally planned to use for the acid rain and wandered into the Plant Research room. Carefully taking off the cover to the Euonymus plant, she started on extracting some of the paralyzing toxin, praying her efforts wouldn't result in her lying unmoving on the floor spaced out of her mind again later on. Lily Zelle rolled 8 dice to "Salvaging Toxins" 5,5,3,3,6,5,8,10,4 (2 successes) Lily Zelle rolled 8 dice to "Salvaging Toxins #2" 5,2,10,7,7,4,10,1,3,8 (3 successes) With 3 vials full of deadly toxins, Lily grinned. This would certainly give her a good edge later. Her throwing knives had also been carefully coated as had her main combat knife. The syringe was full into the bargain, carefully capped off so that it wouldn't leak just in case the others wanted to coat their own blades or arrows or what-have-you. Her work done, Lily packed away her belongings and joined the others outside, consuming her share of the roasted pig. "I've got plenty of Euonymus for everyone." Lily smiled sweetly, as she looked in the direction they would soon be headed in... Lily Zelle rolled 6 dice to "Perception" 9,4,7,5,1,6 (1 successes)

Each vial that Lily had gathered would coat one blade up to three times. One would have to be very careful while carrying the blade to avoid accidental contact. Lily had used up one vial on her main knife and throwing knife, leaving two remaining. As Lily looked over to the horn, she spotted a shadow atop of the horn...

Lily narrowed her eyes... what was that?
"I think I can see a shadow on top of the Cornucopia Horn. One of the Careers?"

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire” Ember looked at Lily. If only the young girl had someone like Ember to look after her. Lily would have never had to go to the games. That much was clear. Ember would have volunteered for her, just as Cinder had spared her from the same fate. Because she had always known that she'd die in the Games. That was her fate. But it Ember was determined to do it on her own terms. "Good, I'm glad to have you both on board... Not looking forward to us squaring off just yet, Lil' Bit." She nodded to the small girl's knife. "But when the time comes, remember what you promised." Aim true... That's all Ember ever wanted. If it was death by an enemy Ember would fight with all her might but to die at the hands of a friend, Ember just wanted it to be as painless as possible. When Lily spoke again, Ember looked up toward the horn. "Don't know..." A dark expression settled on her features. "If Brass is there, we can't allow him to leave the horn alive. But we also can't allow him to enter my fight with Captain Sucks-at-life. So while I'm fighting you all will hold your ground. Make sure that the fight remains just the two of us... But as soon as one of us falls, you unleash hell. And not a moment before." She looked at Jan, pointedly because she knew he'd be the one to convince. "I mean it. Lemme handle this." Said smile graced her features. "Half hour until Midday... We should get going." Ember Clay rolled 8 dice to "Perception" 6,9,4,2,2,8,2,10,10,9 (5 successes)
Armor: Clothes: Weapons: Gear: Hit Points: 19/ 21Willpower:1/ 6 Boomer: District Five Male Tribute, “The Crafter” Boomer had been crafting while the others planned and when he returned he came bearing gifts. "I've got the stretcher loaded up with the gear. Just needs two of us to carry all of this stuff now. And I've got a few more arrows to add to our collection."

As Ember looks at the horn, she notes that the shape of the shadow on top of the horn is likely Brass for the size and glint of light off of his armor. She can see a solitary figure standing on the ground in front of the horn is Eclypse. Eclypse had brought his second in command as well. Any further analysis would likely need to wait until she was closer.
