Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer: The Boy Who Would Watch the World Burn The only reason he didn't goad her-- the only reason--was because it wouldn't do their cause any good. Slicing him up...she could try. And then she could get up and try again. Assuming, of course, Ember didn't finish that smile he gave her. But Jan only blinked. Smiled and snagged his new weapon. "Boom-Boom...can you get Izzy out of here?" He had some pants to charm off people. "Galen's dead. We hunt down Brass. The day after we hear the cannon and we see his face up there, we all meet back here, at the Cornucopia."There's a look to Ember, and he nodded. "And then we give them a show. We break bread together. We drink together. We rest. We heal up. A full day of peace so that we're all at our best....
"...And the next day? We wake up, and we square off. Last man--or woman, as the case may be--standing goes home as Victor. We give the Capitol the memorable, bloody show they want, and we give them a Victor who really and truly deserves the title."2013-02-27 20:30:49 Jan Colton rolled 14 dice to "Persuasion + 3" 10,10,10,5,6,8,2,2,3,8,1,4,6,2,5,5,8 (6 successes) With that, he flips the new knife (+4) in one hand, an offers it hilt-first to Lacey. "Oh...and if I can ask one thing: Please trade me. You might not like me much, but you have to agree that it's pretty tacky to kill me with my twin-brother's weapon."2013-02-27 20:31:43 Jan Colton rolled 11 dice to "Persuatsion" 4,7,9,6,5,9,9,10,9,10,9,10,5,1 (8 successes) He looks to all of them. Looks at Galen twitching and dying on the ground. "What say you?"2013-02-27 20:32:40 Jan Colton rolled 11 dice to "Persuasion" 7,10,1,1,7,8,1,10,9,10,8,6,1,10,10,5 (8 successes)

"I'll make you a deal." Lacey tightened her grip on her scythe. "Perhaps I'll give you this scythe once you impress me. I got no use for that knife." She wagged the scythe at Jan's knife.
"One thing I want to know..." She walked over towards the table and shouldered Felix's backpack. "Your alliance has a plan that we have a big old happy time here."
Lacey glanced around the alliance, taking in the horn and the flat ground. "Whats to keep some vicious mutts from rolling in here and destroying us the second that we aren't interesting? If they're not watching Brass... we're the only things on television."

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer: The Boy Who Would Watch the World Burn"The Blood Bath wasn't very bloody, Lacey. In fact, it was downright disappointing. People lost limbs and the ability to see, but there were only three deaths.
"One of those was pretty damned pathetic. Kingston was brought before Brass like a sacrifice to The One, and frankly seeing a boy from District 4 go out like that was...just plain upsetting. I took it personally for pretty obvious reasons.
"The thing keeping the Gamemakers from sending Mutts in here? The promise of a Final Battle that people will talk about for years to come. The kind of battle that all the other Bloodbaths will be compared to.
"A group of healthy, well-armed, well fed Tributes fighting to the death has got to be more entertaining than one or two half-starved, thirsty children flailing helplessly and desperately at each other."2013-02-27 20:51:45 Jan Colton rolled 11 dice to "Persuasion" 10,6,9,10,10,5,7,5,6,2,2,5,4,5 (4 successes)2013-02-27 20:58:17 Jan Colton rolled 11 dice to "Persuasion" 5,3,3,3,3,7,8,8,6,10,4,2 (3 successes)

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire†Ember looked down at the little girl still struggling to live. Her own knife still red with her blood Ember set out to finish the job. The first slice missed. But Ember didn't dwell as she stabbed downward hitting the dead center in the girl's heart. “Rest well. You've earned it.†Ember closed Galen's eyes with her good hand and stood, looking at Lacey. She grabbed the food bag and put near her feet, next to the one marked medicine. “Because that's not a good show, Lace... Sending mutts after us after we've made friends and broke bread. That gives more fuel to the Big Alliance. They love underdogs, right? But they hate martyrs. You send mutts after us and that's what you'll have a bunch of martyrs willing to fight to the last instead of break their bonds of friendship. Lace, you've seen us fight. We may be ruthless but we're not without honor... It's the only thing I have left in here... We're banking on you and Cot being the same way.†Ember Clay rolled 11 dice to "Mercy Kill (Neck Shot)" 6,2,4,5,4,5,1,1,1,6,5 (0 successes) Ember Clay rolled 8 dice to "Mercy Kill (Heart Shot)" 9,9,4,4,6,8,3,5 (3 successes)

Lacey considered Jan's words for a long moment. A low buzz sounded as a tracker jacker circled her head, but the girl from eight remained still and calm. She slowly turned her head to look behind her before facing Jan and Ember again.
"I'm just worried that we haven't had our terrible mutt attack." Lacey said frankly. "Conrad had the piranha and the shark. Then there were the Avenged... " Another glance around the field. "This is terribly flat ground. If they do attack here - whats our plan? Fall back to the City and try the peaceful day idea there?" Lacey frowned. "Felix can't run. If those pygmies attack us again... we managed to get him to safety once. Its a long way back to our camp from here."

Thanks to the earpieces Lily could still hear the conversation going on down by the Table. The day of peace sounded quite nice... the bloodbath after it not so much but it wasn't like the Gamemakers were going to change their minds and let them all walk out of here alive. 2,10,4,7,7,7,10,6,6,8 (3 successes) Lily still couldn't draw a bead on the Tracker Jacker swarm. Each individual bug was moving too fast for her to keep up, but thankfully they didn't seem to be attacking the gathered tributes. If they did... that would be a vast chunk of the competition removed. Lily wasn't going to acknowledge that dark whisper in her mind anytime soon and now was no exception. They were her family. Killing them was not on her to-do list. Speaking of the one person left she was more than happy to kill... where was the remaining District 1 Career? Lily scanned the surrounding area with the binoculars, trying to spot any sign of the metallic menace. 3,4,1,3,9,7,9,10,4 (3 successes)

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer: The Boy Who Would Watch the World Burn "Fair point." Jan considered it. "Alright. We kill Brass, and then we meet in The Ruined City. Have our Rest Day there. Then we all come out to the Cornucopia, and we square off. A Battle to the last Tribute.
"Sunshine is right: I think Panem would rather see a battle where we're fighting each other than running from Mutts.2013-02-27 21:13:46 Jan Colton rolled 11 dice to "Persuasion" 5,6,6,1,2,6,8,9,8,6,2 (3 successes)

"All right." Lacey nodded. "I'll explain your idea to the others. I'll meet you within the ruined city by the big rock pillars."
That was where Victoria and Glory had died. It should be easy to remember.
Lacey helped herself to Coral's bag and turned, preparing to quit the Feast it seemed. "Odd feast." She observed, glancing at the giant sword that awaited Brass at the table. "Any one else wondering where he's at?" Lacey paused by the food pile, perhaps taking one more thing for the road and waiting for the Wolf Pack's thoughts.
Boomer took Isolde's arm and nodded towards Jan, walking Isolde towards their camp. Isolde seemed dazed and disoriented and needed Boomer to pull her in the right direction. Coral and Cotton had just reached the Ruined City themselves, now.

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer: The Boy Who Would Watch the World Burn
Jan picked up Isolde's bag--the one she'd missed before she got stung--and cautiously moved to take one of the bottles of water. Food, he had. Water was what he needed.
"Someone grabs that sword and we'll probably find out." It was a good sword. Brass would be a fool to leave it here.
And Brass didn't strike Jan as a fool.
"You explain to them the plan. We'll meet at the pillars. If they're cool with it, we start our hunt. If not, we'll go our separate ways and hope for the best....Just give us a minute to deal with my sort-of disoriented District Partner and we'll be there."

"Careful." Lacey advised when Jan referred to the sword. It was a giant thing and she stepped closer to it, admiring it. "He's done a lot of damage with that thing. I don't even think I could lift it." The girl from eight turned in place, shaking her head. "I really can't believe that he didn't show. I mean, I can see not showing up when ten of us are waiting here to kill him, but -"
Lacey paused, becoming still as she looked out towards the Ruined City. She reached out and took a bottle of water, slipping it into Felix's pack.
"I'll see you by the pillars." She gave the Wolf Pack a nod and lopped into a jog towards the Ruined city.

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, "The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire" Ember nodded, looking at Jan with a smirk. Great minds. Had they been reaped last year... No, she wouldn't think like that. Ember searched Galen's body for any loot and then grabbed Lily's throwing knives. Her little sister from another mister would make killing with these. She hoped that it was either Lily or Jan that won. They deserved it the most. "Lace, is right. I don't think I could lift it." Ember grabbed whatever was on Galen, her medical bag, her food bag, Lily's throwing knives.

BOOM! The girl from district eleven, the small girl Galen, expires with hardly a sound.
Ember takes the bag on Galen's back where one water bottle is poking out. There is a bottle on the ground beside Galen. Nine shuriken are found in the hip belt, along side six small bottles filled with various colored goo. One of the tops to these bottles was loose and a shuriken rests inside of the bottle. If she peeked in the original pack that Galen had arrived with she would find a collapsible fishing harpoon, two hallowed out coco nut shells, a small stick with burned fabric on the end (a torch?) and a utility knife. Within the backpack from the feast distinguishable with Galen's district emblem, Ember found a pack of 6 iodine tablets, a medical kit, a net, a pair of running shoes and a tarp.

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer: The Boy Who Would Watch the World Burn Jan was grabbing another container of water to put in his bag when he heard it. Was that..Felix? Yelling? Brass. He distinctly heard the word 'Brass', and Jan looked up at Ember, flipping that new knife of his in one hand and hefting the two bags over his opposite shoulder. "Sunshine. Ready to go kill another Career? Because I am."With that, he took off at a jog toward the Ruins and after Lacey. 2013-02-27 23:00:42 Jan Colton rolled 5 dice to "PErception" 10,10,10,4,5,4,5,8 (4 successes)

Brass? Lily grinned at the word "Career" that had transmitted over the earpiece, racing after Jan. As she caught up with Ember en route to her leader's ever advancing position, she slowed long enough to gesture for and take her spiffy new throwing knives.
