As the second day breaks on the training center, you awaken in your four poster bed, the linens and bed itself being the finest thing that you have ever seen. Before long, you once again join your district mate and mentor(s) for a spectacular breakfast. Your head is full of what you had learned yesterday - the training center events, the scheming at lunch and for some, the plotting in private meetings. As you had met with your mentor after lunch yesterday, as you finish breakfast you are led once more to the training center. On the fair wall, a long table holds several men and women wearing expensive robes with the symbol of the Hunger Games emblazoned upon them. These must be the Game makers who will be rating you at the end of the week. You recognize the new Head Game maker - and the enotional one. As you move into the Training Center, you walk by these training stations: - Animal Identification - Investigation
- Animal Training - Animal ken
- Archery - athletics
- Axes - weaponry
- Boxing - brawl
- Blowguns - weaponry
- Camouflague - stealth
- Chakram - athletics
- Climbing: The climbing station features a rock wall, a rope climbing excercise and a tree saddle where you practice scurrying up trees - athletics
- Edible Insects - survival
- Edible Plants & Medicinal Plants - survival
- First Aid - medicine
- Fire - making - survival
- Hand - to - hand combat - brawl
- Knots - survival
- Shelters - survival
- Slingshots - weaponry
- Spears - weaponry
- Sprinting - athletics
- Swimming (complete with an indoor pool) - athletics (and gain swimming skill)
- Sword Training - weaponry
- Stealth - stealth
- Throwing weapons (thowing axes and knives) - athletics
- Tracking - investigation
- Tridents - weaponry
The Stat raising courses - Weight lifing - Strength
- Balance beam and bars - Dexterity
- Memorization:
a large wooden block under water, marked with six designs on interlocking wooden blocks - Wits
- Endurance course:
One appears to be a vertical challenge of jumping high distances and climbing irregular rocks while infrequent weather changes such as gusts of wind or buckets of hail rain down. - Stamina
- Persistance course - Composure
- Acting course - Manipulation
- Tree Course: The last tree course appears to stretch between six tall trees, spaced about nine - twelve feet apart. Each tree has some attachment - a rope, a perch, likely meant to propel one to the other tree.
You can see the other tributes consider thier choices. While Glory had participated in the boxing station immediately yesterday, today she glances around the room. She remains still and quiet for several moments, watching the others. Victoria glances around the room, seeming to take the temperature of the room. She watches as the first tributes to make a choice move to their perspective stations. She follows Klover to the edible plants station, giving the girl a long, blank look that makes Klover's face pale. Victoria walks past the medical station and glances along that section stations. Eclypse, the quiet career tribute, strides towards the tracking station. He makes a quick, sharp request of the trainer. The trainer immediately begins walking over the Forrest floor display at the tracking center, walking behind a divider. Eclypse immediately begins to attempt to track him. Felix, Sassinak & Coral "Oh good, a career that can find us." Sassinak whispers to Felix, nodding towards Eclypse. "I may look at the camuflague station," She nods to the other station. "- or perhaps shelter. Something that might help us there. What do you feel like doing?" "Hello," Coral greets Felix before he can make his station choice or reply to Sassinak. She smiles sweetly at him, beckoning the two to join her away from the group of tributes. "Come, I can't wait to tell you about the sweet breads that were on the breakfast spread-" Yet as soon as some distance was between them, Coral drops her voice to a whisper. "- I am so curious how you feel about district two's proposal." Coral whispers, interest dancing in her eyes.

Ember, Jasper, Jan & IsoldeIsolde steps up beside Jan. She is staring off towards the tracking station where Eclypse had vanished to. "I don't have any interest in tracking." Isolde confides. "I feel trouble will find us just as easy without us having to go and look for it. I do want to become more adept at something that can help us survive." Her head is turned towards the stealth and swimming stations. " Do you think the river will flood this year?" Jasper nudges Ember gently and nods over to Jan and Isolde. He walks over to them, giving them a civil nod apiece. "Good morning." He greets politely. Jasper turns and glances towards Ember. "I am curious what you feel like learning today." Lily & Lacey, district 8 female "Hello." Lacey steps up beside Lily. "I can't help but appreciate the fine work that you did yesterday." The female tribute from district eight compliments. "I think that you'll do quite well for yourself. " Brass & GloryGlory steps over towards Brass, tearing her eyes away from the others. She begins to whisper to him while glancing around at the tributes near. If any one approaches, she stops speaking. "Coral's speaking to seven." She whispers quietly to Brass. "How solid do you think our alliance prospects are with her?"

The Training Centre already felt secure to Felix. He could relax and even enter into a mindset that he could never do; one where he was ready to learn. He smiles, feeling comfortable in the baggy shirt and sweatpants that were always miraculously clean even though he took them off only to shower, or to change into something fancier for dinners. He looks around the room, noticing Eclypse at the stalking station.
"Oh good, a career that can find us."
With a smile, Felix’s eyes rest on his district partner as Coral arrives.
"Hello...Come, I can't wait to tell you about the sweet breads that were on the breakfast spread-"
Felix tries not to snort at Coral’s choice of words, but then realises that it’s a way to keep other tributes from listening in to their plans.
"- I am so curious how you feel about district two's proposal."
With a glance around the room, Felix smiles calmly. “I ain’t paying that fool no mind.” He states slowly, “Brass can try and wrap everyone around his little finger, but I ain’t stupid. He’s after us ‘cuz Seven’s been a surprise two years in a row. Bet he’s gonna try and take us out straight away. He wants you and Kingston cuz Brass needs followers.”
His tone is hushed, but just as calm as his stare. “I’d rather you and Kingston stick with me, Lily, Boomer and Sass. Got a few tricks up our sleeve.” His gaze remains calm and steady. “I can keep you safe.” He says, his tone less hushed, though still quiet over the noise in the room.

"I'm debating on whether I want t go show off, or if I want to go run the Endurance course. Might do a little of both today. I kind of want to play with something sharp though. Don't want to get out of practice."
He hadn't really touched a knife since he'd gotten here, and normally he was practicing somewhat every day.
"Isolde was just talking about the survival station. I might try and get in on the medic thing too." There was a meaningful look to both from District 12.
"You?"

HG 26 - Ember Clay rolled 6 dice to "Eavesdropping Coral" 8,1,7,8,2,8 (3 successes) HG 26 - Ember Clay rolled 6 dice to "Eavesdropping Glory" 5,5,3,3,9,1 (1 successes) Ember is smiling when she enters the Training Center. She notices something odd with Glory. She was eager yesterday. Today she is pensive. As Ember tries to cranes her neck to follow Glory's movements, she realizes that the whispering has ceased. A discreet glance rewards herwith Glory calmly primping her hair, as though preparing for another televised interview. She favors Brass with a winsome smile, commenting in a normal voice. "Yes, I also think Mel was correct..." Ember chuckles; that devilish smirk of hers settling on her face. And she shakes her head. Nothing about her expression says she's the least bit considered about what Glory is saying. Though it is interesting and worth noting that she is worried about Coral. Interesting... Eclypse is learning how to track. Good for him. He still wouldn't have anything on Ember and Jasper. Hunters do better than Careers when it comes to tracking. We've been doing this our whole lives. They've been learning to kill. It evened out in the end. The mention of Coral peaked her interest so as she tries to strain her hearing, she realizes that the whispering has ceased. Coral's voice states at a normal volume: "Hello Ember. I don't suppose you are adoring the breakfast pastries, too? If only I could bring a barrel of them into the arena." Coral favors you with a sweet smile, but something glints in her eyes. "Unless you wanted to discuss something with us?" "Maybe... We'll see... Catch up with me later, Mermaid... Might want to cool it on the chit-chat... your buddies are getting antsy over there." Ember replies, before Jasper approaches. She nods to Felix and Sassinak in kind. "Broody... Butterfly... Catch ya on the flipside." Ember slips her arm into Jasper's. It's not romantic. Just Ember being Ember. It seems that she enjoys getting into someone's personal bubble. "I won't be showin' off just yet, Charming." Ember's new nickname for Jan. As in Prince Charming. She thinks it's funny as hell. "Survival's always good. Jas and I have been in the woods for years. I'm not a half-bad medic, either. But could always use more depth hands." Ember pauses, looking around. "I won't be showin' off just yet, Charming.
"I'm heading back to the weights... then stealth... Think about it: me silent but deadly..."

Felix & Sassinak "I see." Coral whispered to Felix and Sassinak. "I think that's an interesting choice of allies - and I'm in. We should talk more indepth later. Have your mentor get in touch with mine. "
Coral glanced towards Ember, following her gaze to Glory. Coral shrugs lightly in response to Ember, not concerned with whatever district one is discussing. With a nod to the assembled, Coral departs for the sprinting station. Bogart glances over his shoulder at Sassinak and Felix as he heads to the hand to hand combat station. His expression is easy to read - interest, mixed with a touch of suspicion. "Sounds promising." Sassinak replied happily to Felix. "We should mention it to our mentors..." She catches Bogart's eye and meets his stare for a minute. Bogart casually glances away to pay attention to his station, not intimidated or embaressed at being caught. Sassinak gives Felix a meaningful glance. Isolde, Jan, Ember & Jasper "I'd like to check out the shelter station," Isolde shares. "- especially if no one else fears a flood will be coming our way." "Can't gaurantee anything." Jasper replies solemnly. "But I can't swim, any way. Few outside of district four can." "Maybe all the more reason to learn," Isolde worries. "- the flood and the raft in the ocean were big events in #25." "And maybe walls of fire will be big in #27." Jasper replies. "Don't worry about what you can't control. If you want to swim, learn it. " He looks over the stations. "I think I'll learn something new too..." Jasper eyes the shelter station. Still looking that way, he remarks quietly. "Seems Eleven is already staring at Seven like they are lunch..."

Brass Power, District 2 Male
Brass hung back, watching other tributes walk off. He watched the pairings and the quiet words being spoken. It'd be easy to keep secrets here and the like. The training hall was big and noisy and voices didn't travel terribly well. He was still watching when Glory sidled over to him and spoke. He shook his head.
"Not as solid as I would like. Seven got way more time at that table than I would have liked without my presence." He watched the pair walk off, then looked to Glory, keeping his voice pitched low, letting his words get lost much past Glory. "If we lose them, they lose early. Simple as that. More on that where there aren't possibly prying ears. Join me at the strength station for a short bit?"
He didn't wait for an answer before heading straight to the weights.

"Grumpy has a point, Sweetpea. Can’t do anything about things you can’t control," Ember tells her alliance mate, before smacking Jasper lightly on his butt. "But you’ve got some ideas. Go with your gut."
Ember slips her arm into Jasper's. It's not romantic. Just Ember being Ember. It seems that she enjoys getting into someone's personal bubble.
"Lookit that… Champ is on his way to the weight station… Hmm…" Ember smiles wide. "I’m going to test the waters… Wish me luck…"
Ember sets off toward the weight station. She’s smirking when arrives. "Hey there, Champ…"
The district twelve tribute chuckles as she looks over Brass’ form. "They grow ‘em big in District 2, don’t they…"

Charming.
Prince Charming?
Cute. It made him grin. Made that 'not-so-nice' piece of him flare up and out through his eyes just a little before it settled. Before the burning coldness of Absolute Zero settled back into place.
"I haven't practiced since I got here. I'm going to go stab a dummy or three. See what these 'instructors' can't teach me. Maybe show off a little."
He could keep it to himself if he wanted, but at the same time he didn't want to be seen as 'just another pretty face'. He most certainly wasn't.
"Time to be badass." He laced his fingers behind his head and headed toward the melee station at a sedate pace. Sitting there on the rack was a scythe, just like the one hsi brother had used in the Games last year. They were probably thinking and hoping he'd pick it up and show them a thing or three, and he likely could have if he the thought of touching that thing didn't turn his stomach in the same way blueberries and apples did.
There's a half-smile at the instructor, before he grabs up the combat knife. Most went for swords or machetes or other 'bigger' weapons. A person who went for a knife though?
They liked their ruthless version of death up close and personal.
A man's weapon said a lot about the man. Jace had gone with what he was comfortable with. Jan, on the other hand, wanted to feel them die. Up close and personal and he wanted to see the looks on their faces when he killed them.
Whoever 'they' were.
He deftly flipped the combat knife in his hand before he full-on and charmingly grinned at the instructor.
"So...teach me how to kill people."

"I see...I think that's an interesting choice of allies - and I'm in. We should talk more indepth later. Have your mentor get in touch with mine. "
Felix smiles confidently, though inside he’s suddenly jittery and nervous. He had five lives on his shoulders now, seeing as he had assumed the role of leader in this alliance. He looked at Sassinak, his second in command. He listens to Ember’s comment, and his eyes drift over to Coral and Brass. He’d messed with their plans by assuring Coral that his was the best alliance.
Good.
“We’ll be in touch.” He mutters, before turning to Sassinak.
"Sounds promising...We should mention it to our mentors..."
Felix nods, and follows her gaze to Bogart. “What’s his problem? Brass’ little messenger boy?” He asks, and shakes his head, “Don’t care. Let’s go to the camouflage station. You know yourself that stealth certainly ain’t my forte.” He smirks and winks, before taking her hand in his and leading her over to the station.
“Hello!” He greets the instructor enthusiastically, “We’d like to learn how to become silent, but still deadly.”

OOC: Little note, to hear ANYTHING in the 'spoiler' tags, you must have a succusful perception roll with a = 2 mod for precautions. So if you have 5 perception, you roll 3 die. Post successes to the thread here with your next post. Weight Training: Brass, Glory, Ember & RogerGlory shrugged towards Brass, seeming less concerned. "Lets not worry about what we can't control." She replied at a whisper, giving a sideways glance towards district seven. "I'll swing by one of their allies later and see how they react to me." As Brass moved towards the weight station, Glory kept in step with him. The trainer gave a quick, cursory explanation of the weight machines as Brass, Glory and Ember arrive at her station. She recognizes Ember from the day before and gives a small reminder. "Remember to perform the same rotation as yesterday to improve." She advises Ember, stepping aside to another arrival - Roger, the district three male. The trainer watches as Roger performs a few repetitions of dead weight lifting, showing that he had average strength. Not a terrible display, but not fantastic. The trainer kneels beside Roger, giving him quiet advice. Jan - did Jan head to the sword training or throwing weapons [throwing axes and knives] station? There is not a marked melee stationVictoria walks beside Jan's chosen station, giving the boy from district nine a long look. If Jan looks at her, she gives him a blank look, with no expression. She is a mask of neutrality. Camouflage station: Felix & SassinakThe trainer introduced herself as Amethyst, a small, petite woman with porcelain skin painted with ruby colors; suggesting that she was a Capital citizen. "Hello," She greeted, placing a palette of natural paints in greens, browns and grays before each tribute. "- welcome to the camouflage station. I'm here to teach you something about hiding yourself. These are the colors that you can use to hide yourself in a Forrest setting." She takes a bandanna, an ordinary bandanna. She presses it into the green paint and began to press it over the skin of her hand. After a moment, she holds her hand out towards Felix and Coral. "You see how you can use the clothing that you'll have on you in the arena. " She hands Felix and Coral a bandanna each. "Try pressing it with brown and mixing it with gray for natural shadowing." Amethyst advises, watching the two.

[OOC: Ember has a Wits+Composure of 8 - 2 would give her a roll of 6.] "Sweetness is here too? Excellent... It's a party and everyone's invited..." Ember says, with her usual smirk. She throws a wink her way. Ember Clay... always playing with fire, waiting to get burned. She couldn't hear her words to Glory. Too much going around, she tells herself. Besides, she has her own training to focus on. "Well, Champ if you want some good company, I'll be right over there all by my lonesome..." Ember walks over to some weights and goes through the motions. A few sets with the dumb weights and then she'd use... "the device." Ember Clay rolled 6 dice to "Eavesdropping Glory" 6,7,7,7,7,4 (0 successes) Ember Clay rolled 3 dice to "pump iron " 6,10,10,1,9 (3 successes) Ember Clay rolled 3 dice to "pump iron " 6,9,1 (1 successes) Ember Clay rolled 3 dice to "pump iron " 2,6,9 (1 successes)

Felix wasn’t paying attention to Glory and Brass; he’s too focused on the camouflage station.
He listens to the trainer, watching her actions carefully. He was never too good at painting or drawing, so as the trainer pulls out the palettes, Felix swallows hard. This is going to be a challenge, he decides.
Taking the bandanna, Felix begins to press it into the green paint. He looks over at Sassinak, watching what she does and mainly copying her. After a short while, he places the bandanna in the grey paint and then lifts the bandanna, rubbing it on his hand.
“This okay?” He asks, not sure what to make of the colour of his hand.

Brass Power, District 2 Male Brass smiled at Glory as she accompanied him across the room. Held up a finger to Ember's addressing him, and responded to Glory first. "Sounds good. Be sure to get some extra protein in tomorrow's breakfast, it'll help repair whatever you work today," he told her. He then looked back to Ember as she spoke again. He shrugged and followed her to the free weights. He'd only vaguely listened to the trainer. He knew about pumping weights. "Yup, they grow us big in District 2 to make moving all the stone we mine easier. This..." he picked up a dumbbell and began pumping away. "Much easier than being at home and having to use a chunk of rough rock. And I'd not quite define yourself as lonesome at any given point in time. Seem to have your partner, and possibly Jan and Isolde, wrapped around your finger. How's training going?"He had intended on visiting with 12 and 9... might as well do it now and test the waters. Even it if cost him a little bit on his workout. Pumping Iron 5,1,8,5,10,1,9,1 (3 successes) Pumping Iron 3,1,5,6,5,7,7 (0 successes) Pumping Iron 7,9,2,1,2,7,5 (1 successes)

The female trainer walked along her four attendees, watching them closely for signs of performing an excercise incorrectly. She stresses stretching once the tributes had warmed up her muscles, demonstrating the basic stretches and explaining how it would prevent strains or sprains.
Ember had initial progress, finding that she was able to use a heavier weight than she had at her first visit to the weight training. The repitions still posed a challenge. Brass was able to challenge himself and was confident that he was building muscle for the next challenge.
Glory inclined her head to Brass in agreement, choosing to begin with the free weights.
Glory rolled 5 dice to "Weight training " 2,9,7,2,10,1 (2 successes) Link 2012-11-11 21:13:17 Glory rolled 5 dice to "Weight training " 4,2,1,3,6 (0 successes) Link 2012-11-11 21:13:07 Glory rolled 5 dice to "Weight training " 4,7,10,9,10,1,6 (3 successes)
Glory followed Ember to the weight machines, observing the girl for a moment. After she had began her excercise, she spoke in even intervals on the exhale of her excercise. She listened to Brass' reply, nodding slightly at his question.
"Yes, they seem capable." She noted nuetrally. The snide tone from her voice is decisively absent.
Camouflage station: Felix & Sassinak
Amethyst examined Felix and Sassinak's hands, offering positive criticism. She showed Felix how to make a mottled, more natural effect with layering. Once Sassinak had learned to mix colors and not rely on her favorite color of green, Amethyst continued to the next idea. She introduced natural elements - tree branches, leaves, springs of greenery and mud. Amethyst took a moment to explain how to break up ones profile of a head or body by attaching natural elements found in the world around them. Amethyst described a forrest scene with tall brown tree trunks and green, leafy shrubs. The trainer provided Felix and Sassinak with a hat and jacket to decorate with brown branches, tricks, mud and green springs of leaves.

Ember Clay: The Girl who Liked to Play with Fire (District Twelve Female Tribute) Six years ago, her sister probably stood in this place, knowing she wasn't going home again. Why else would one agree to ally with the Careers? If you had nothing left to lose, the worst they could do was kill you. In the Hunger Games, the Victors were the real losers here. Ember only wanted to win because of a promise she had made to herself. One that she waited six years to try and keep. If she won, no one in the Capitol would be be safe. Ember never gave her back to Brass but she awed by his strength. Those hands did more than lift stone, she thought. And then she came to terms with the possibility of having the breath squeezed out of her by those hands. Only half way through Brass' set did Ember realize that she was supposed to be lifting something. Ember Clay rolled 3 dice to "pump iron " 4,5,6 (0 successes) Ember Clay rolled 3 dice to "pump iron " 1,6,7 (0 successes) Ember Clay rolled 3 dice to "pump iron " 3,5,3 (0 successes) "Swell, Champ..." Ember replied to Brass' question with a smirk. "But the swelling's gone down since yesterday so I figured I should hit the weights again..." Ember sat down at a weight machine and chuckled when Glory joined her. She worked through the burn but didn't know quite how to manage her breathing. Ember Clay rolled 4 dice to "pump iron " 1,1,9,5 (1 successes) Ember Clay rolled 4 dice to "pump iron " 9,3,4,2 (1 successes) Ember Clay rolled 4 dice to "pump iron " 9,7,6,4 (1 successes) "I think that's the nicest thing you've ever said to me, Sweetness," Ember told Glory with a wink. "Jasper, Jan, Isolde and me... we've got a good thing going... Solid. 'Bout as thick as you and Princess Punch and The Shadow are."

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer
Jan flipped the knife expertly in his hand. It was a practiced movement. There was absolutely no hesitation in it, much like his younger twin had done with the scythe the year before. For all Jan knew, this was the same instructor who'd taught Jace how to better kill with the tool.
It had become a weapon, and Jace had killed three Tributes with it. Three...before he died.
He looked around. There was a whole lot of crazy in his room right now, and he had a feeling he was on the top of that list.
And then there was Victoria, and Jan offered her a half-snarky grin in response. She didn't look away, and neither did he, even as he went back to the instructor.
"So. Let's do this. I'm good...but I want to be better. Get me there, huh?"
[Jan is at the 'Sword' station, I guess, seeing as there's no knife station other than the throwning knives. So..yeah. Getting better with Weaponry and Spetnaz, hopefully.]

"The Shadow? I assume that you mean Eclypse." Glory guessed. "Not a bad nickname for him. He doesn't have an overabundance of conversation." She glanced towards Brass. "He has his uses, though. " Glory glances back to Ember as she continues to keep a solid beat through her work out. " Jan, there is one that likes to talk. Then there are Felix and Jasper, who like having conversations with Game Makers." A smirk. "Not sure that I'd advise that." Glory rolled 5 dice to "Weight training " 1,1,7,8,10,10,1 (3 successes) Link 2012-11-12 17:36:31 Glory rolled 5 dice to "Weight training " 10,5,8,8,3,4 (3 successes) Link 2012-11-12 17:36:25 Glory rolled 5 dice to "Weight training " 5,6,2,8,10,9 (3 successes) Roger glanced over towards Glory and Ember, clearly curious. He glances away if any one looks in his direction, continuing to work out at a slow yet steady pace.
Sword Training Station: Jan "Thats my job." The wirey, tall male trainer didn't look very strong, but he handed the sword to Jan with ease, choosing another for himself. "Come stand before these dummies." He leads Jan over to a row of four dummies. "Now, get in your stance." He advises. "Pretend that you and this fellow," He clasps a hand on the dummies shoulder. "Have just encountered each other for the first time. You don't know his strengths. How do you fight him? Do you go on the offensive? Retreat to high ground and make him pursue you, to run into your sword?" The trainer, who introduced himself as Marlin, gestured for Jan to demonstrate. [Strength + Weaponry, no mod. 1 roll ] Glancing around the training center, you see others hard at work learning... Lacey, the district 8 tribute, causes a clash of noise as she counters the sword in the trainer's hand at the trident station. She holds the trident sideways, using the staff portion instead of the prongs. Another trainer approaches from behind and she disarms this trainer, causing the trainer's trident to skitter across the floor. Lacey rolled 10 dice to "Trident as a Staff fighting" 5,3,10,3,9,2,5,4,7,4,9 (3 successes)
Lacey rolled 13 dice to "Trident as a Staff fighting; disarm [wp]" 2,2,6,6,4,9,10,1,9,10,9,6,4,9,9 (7 successes) At the Chakram station, Coral makes a throw at three dummies moving quickly down a wire towards her. The bladed weapon slices past one's shoulder, strikes the second dummy's arm and implants in the third dummy; at the knee cap. Coral smiles, pleased with herself. Coral rolled 6 dice to "Chakram" 7,10,4,10,3,7,8,3 (3 successes) Isolde is crouched at the Shelter station, assembling a series of branches against a tree. From the progress of the shelter, she seems to have been working on this for some time. The shelter is camouflaged with leaves an a bit of dirt, so well you wonder if you'd see it in a Forrest setting.

Jan ColtonOne thing they were going to learn very quickly: Jan was absolutely nothing like Jace in the combat department. Where his twin brother would have seen what the other tribute did--waited for the attack before he defended himself--Jan became the aggressor, feinting to one side and then lashing out finally to the other. It was a solid hit. Gone was the smiling, happy, flirtateous Volunteer, and in his place was the ruthless true-face of Jan Colton. The one with nothing to lose. The one with everything to avenge. And if he had his way, he'd be getting far too good at this for anyone to keep up with. There's a look to the instructor. A cold one, fearless one. "How's that?" 2012-11-12 18:15:50 Jan Colton rolled 8 dice to "Weaponry + Strength + Knife Specialty " 2,1,7,3,1,7,10,8,10,5 (3 successes) Advantageous Angle (••): Your knife-wielder knows how to make a feinted attack from the side or rear in a way that grants him advantage. While normally such attacks confer no bonuses, the character is aware how to deceive an opponent into mounting a Defense against an attack that isn’t coming — and then stage an attack from a different angle. The foe’s Defense is at –1 during such an attack. Drawback: This maneuver can only be made every other turn .

Sword Training Station: Jan
"That's not bad." Marlin replied, studying the dummy. He took a moment to study the impression the knife had made in the dummy when Jan removed his knife. After Marlin had checked how deep the knife had penetrated, he gave a small nod.
"You know how to deceive for an excellent angle." Marlin replied, moving on to the next dummy. "Come over here, I'd like to watch how you react to a moving target. This dummy is going to weave back and forth with a pattern. I want you to focus on hitting the largest area of your victim - the chest. No need to get fancy at this stage, simply continue to attack until the dummy stops moving. I'll set the program for a few moments, enough to get three or four attacks in."
Marlin waited for Jan to position himself in front of the dummy before sliding a lever on a control panel. The dummy proved to be more than sawdust and exterior when the pole it was mounted to jerked one to two feet to either side. Marlin stepped to the side, observing Jan's attack.
[Roll: Please make 3 - 4 Standard rolls, with - 1 for torso with each roll. Go ahead and use Spetsnaz Knife Fighting]

Brass Power, District 2 Male Brass continued his sets with the free weights, and the moment Ember put hers down and moved to the weight machine to continue his workout with her and joined Glory as well. He listened to the pair and smiled at Ember as he pushed through his sets on the machine. "Just means you're gettin' stronger," he said with a smile. Also meant she might have torn something, but... that was a little tidbit he didn't need to share. "Gotta push through the pain to get the gain. And we're not here to make enemies. That'll come naturally in a couple weeks in the Arena. For everyone in a tribute uniform in this room."He smiled at Ember. "Mind if I ask what your intentions are at the start?"Brass Power rolled 7 dice to "pumping iron str+ath" 1,4,1,10,3,5,1,5 (1 successes) Brass Power rolled 7 dice to "pumping iron str+ath" 1,7,4,1,6,8,5 (1 successes) Brass Power rolled 7 dice to "pumping iron str+ath" 6,1,7,1,3,9,8 (2 successes)

Ember Clay: The Girl who Liked to Play with Fire (District Twelve Female Tribute) Ember smirked. Brass was good. She could see why some of the tributes listened to him. However, they weren't hunters like she was. They couldn't see a predator when they saw one. Still, Ember had very little to hide. She was an open book for the most part. "I'll take your word on that, Champ," Ember chuckled. "But I'll believe that when I see it. We might not be enemies but only one of us is going to coming back for this next year. Kinda puts a damper on any plans of friendship." Ember Clay rolled 4 dice to "pump iron " 7,6,10,2,6 (1 successes) Ember Clay rolled 4 dice to "pump iron " 6,2,5,4 (0 successes) Ember Clay rolled 4 dice to "pump iron " 1,3,9,7 (1 successes)
Her eyes held an edge of darkness. She smirked. "Other than surviving... I'm sort of playing it by ear. I'm not the brains of my foursome... In fact I don't believe we have a leader... Got a spokesman in Charmin' over there. But ain't got no leader."She looked at Glory when she spoke. "Yea, Sweetness that's who I mean." Ember searched for Jasper and Felix when they were mentioned. "Grumpy and Broody are clever boys... If they think talkin' to Gamemakers will help, bully for 'em." Ember chuckled. "Out of curiosity, what would you advised, Sweetness?"Her gaze fixed on Roger for a moment. "Hey there, Handsome... Come on and join the convo. I promise I don't bite... well, only if you ask me nicely."

Jan Colton; District 9's VolunteerHe nods to the instructor, twisting the knife in his hand and then moving for the kill. Four hits. All four solid, though the last two are the most. The last, however, he put everything he was into it. Threw his weight behind it and sunk it into the moving torso with a ferocity borne of determination. No one would mistake Jan as 'just a pretty farmboy'. He might have rode his twin brother's coat-tails into this mess, but he would be making a name for himself. Live or die, they'd be talking about 'District 9's Volunteer' for years to come. 2012-11-13 20:29:24 Jan Colton rolled 6 dice to "Weaponry + Strength + Knife Fighting - 1 " 3,8,3,3,7,8 (2 successes) 2012-11-13 20:30:59 Jan Colton rolled 7 dice to "Weaponry + Strength + Knife Specialty (Spetnaz Roll)" 9,4,1,8,1,2,2 (2 successes) 2012-11-13 20:31:44 Jan Colton rolled 6 dice to "Weaponry + Strength + Knife Specialty - 1" 9,4,3,10,3,9,8 (4 successes) 2012-11-13 20:33:41 Jan Colton rolled 10 dice to "Weaponry + Strength + Knife Specialty (Spetnaz Roll) + 3 (Willpower)" 5,3,10,8,2,10,9,4,2,2,6,3 (4 successes)

Felix watched Amethyst’s movements, taking in every dab and every wipe. His eyes followed her hands as the back of his soon become a whole different colour and texture entirely. He smiled and nodded, “Awesome. Thanks.” He said, his tone genuine. Looking over at Sassinak, he smiled as she finally allowed herself to move away from her favourite shade of green.
He leant closer to her, whispering “If you ask me, I think that colour looks beautiful on you.” He said with a smile, before turning his attention back to Amethyst.
Listening to Amethyst, Felix closed his eyes and imagined the woods back in District 7. A small smile crossed his face as memories rushed to his mind. It felt like so long since he had been in a forest, but it hadn’t been all that long at all. It’s weird to go from spending all your life somewhere, and then one day knowing you’ll never go back. Felix could smell the trees, fell them under his fingers.
And then, suddenly, it was fabric. He opened his eyes and looked down at the twigs and the leaves that he had to decorate a jacket and a hat with. He smiled, and began to work.
He covered the clothes in a thin layer of mud, before placing two twigs at the back of the jacket and lathering them in mud. He made sure they would stick before covering the hat with the leaves, sticking them with mud if they would slide down. The rest of the jacket he decorated with some loose twigs, leaves and more mud. A lot of mud.

Weight Training Station: Brass, Glory, Ember and Roger
"Hello," Roger nodded a reply to Ember. He glanced to Brass and Glory, giving them a polite nod. "- I'm Roger." He introduced himself. "I saw a final clip of your interview from lunch." Roger shared. "Seems like you have two solid alliances going."
He continues to train as he speaks, turning to look straight ahead.
The first two attacks that Jan performed got little impression from the instructor. They hit the chest, but they were shallow and would not inflict much damage. Victoria passes by Jan's station at this moment, slowing down slightly to watch Jan's efforts. Jan's final two attacks penetrated the chest much more deeply. He had missed any vital organs, but the trainer nodded approvingly. He stepped up beside Jan and studied the impressions.
"Not bad." He stated to Jan.
"Now I want you to practice a quick and lethal blow. There may not be many chances to do so in the arena, you may have to work at killing someone. Keeping up on your cardio will help give you the stamina you need for the hard work. Yet now, lets imagine that your opponent is becoming winded. You see an opportunity. You must strike quickly and in a sensitive spot, the neck or the lung would do nicely."
[Please make 1 roll for a 'killing blow. 5 suxx will be considered to have hit the neck or lung. 4 is a solid chest shot that may prove lethal, 3 is a middling chest wound, 2 is a fair wound to a limb, 1 is a glancing blow. You may take a round or two for a +1 mod on each turn waited.]
Victoria stepped up beside Jan, giving him a smile that didn't reach her eyes. She accepted the offered sword and listened to the initial instructions, the same Jan had been told moments ago.

Ember Clay: The Girl who Liked to Play with Fire (District Twelve Female Tribute) Ember chuckled with a shrug, as if she didn't care about any of it. Not the sponsors, not her alliance, not the Arena, and certainly not her own impending doom. "Oh goodie, we're famous," Ember said, sardonically. "Well, Handsome, strong alliance or not, only one of us is going home." Ember Clay rolled 4 dice to "pump iron " 5,8,9,6 (2 successes) Ember Clay rolled 4 dice to "pump iron " 3,6,2,5 (0 successes) Ember Clay rolled 4 dice to "pump iron " 1,3,9,7 (1 successes)
Ember finished her set and wondered if she was done, looking at the instructor. She wanted to hit the stealth station once more before it was all over. "Come on, Handsome, you get to be my shadow for the rest of the day." Ember told the newcomer. "If you play your cards right I might even let you join in when I finally get Sweetness over here in the sack."
