The X - wing made it to the hanger with no problems from the military like convoy of vehicles that had descended onto the rehabilitation center. As several of the students and adult X - men had split up during the course of the mission and had observed different things, a briefing was arranged for as soon as one could change out of one's uniform into more comfortable clothing.
Beast provided Mystique with a new outfit - a sensible mauve blouse and black slacks. Clothing had been offered for Shade and Riley - it looked like a collection of sensible clothing gathered by students of their own age and size. Once every one was comfortable, the group was called to the larger sitting rooms in the mansion.
"That wasn't what I expected." He stated simply from a large arm chair. "Lacy, Shade, Rogue, Mystique - did you feel as though you were in danger in there?"
The conversation was informal and Beast encouraged you to voice your thoughts. "Did you see anything unusual there?"

Riley sat quietly and listened. He didn't want to interfere. He was still very new here and did not want to interrupt. He was in more sensible clothes now as well, loose black cargo pants and a gray hoodie. She had been thankful for the offered clothing and wore more underneath. Riley always liked to dress in layers when possible, it made becoming someone else that much faster.
Riley was also a boy now. He had been a girl before for practical reasons, and now felt the need to change. He still very much resembled the girl they had met, but was slightly different. His hair was darker and shorter, but still long for a boy, about neck-length.
Riley also felt very shy still around these people. They knew what he was and that was awkward,. He was far more used to pretending to be someone else, and actually felt more comfortable that way.

"No one saw anything unusual?" Beast seemed surprised. "We've all had a long day. Retire to your rooms. Storm, Logan, can I have a word?"
The big professor moved towards the faculty room.

I'd graciously accepted Beast's gift of clothing – Despite my regained ability to simply morph clothing whenever the whim took me, or walk around in just my blue scales as I had done for so many years around Magneto, I covered up the 'beauty' he'd always claimed to see in my natural form primarily to deprive him of it. Secondly it currently took effort to maintain any morph for any real length of time, so real clothes won out on fake clothes in that area too. It was nice to be able to relax again, ignoring Magneto's presence of course.
Since mine was the last of the four names to be listed, I thought Beast might expect one of the other three to answer first. After a pause, it was apparent they either didn't have much to say or were perhaps nervous to speak up in front of so many ears?
“The only unusual thing there was that there was NOTHING unusual there; nothing out of the ordinary at all – Just a normal building with normal people having a normal time. No restraints, no heavy weapons that I saw, just ordinary firearms on the guards like they didn't expect much of a fight. It might be worth considering a more-formal meeting between representatives from both sides, theirs and ours, to figure out their agenda and change their recruitment methods, if they can be reasoned with in such a manner. I also think it's in our best interest to find out what they know of their enemy that showed up in such force and drove them away – That enemy may set its sights on US next.” I didn't mention the van, it was unnecessary and too obvious. Last thing I wanted was Storm thinking I was undermining her decision to leave it behind when I actually thought it was the only way we could've got everyone out safe.
Although, I suppose Magneto could've picked it up and brought it with him if he'd thought about it...
I spotted Riley trying to hide in plain sight out of the corner of my eye. She'd shifted into a 'he', but it'd take a lot more than that to fool my trained eye. I hadn't met many shifters, but was always delighted to meet one that wasn't trying to kill me. Perhaps we could become friends – One could only hope.
I nodded at his suggestion – Apparently the chat he'd wanted with me could wait, but since I hadn't been assigned a room yet I walked over to the window with the best view and leaned against the frame as I looked out to watch the sunset.
