As the exertion at the training center caused the tributes' bellies grumble, pairs of Peacekeepers partitioned the tributes into their district pairs. Districts 12, 11 and 10 were led to the cafeteria first, followed by 9, 8 and 7. All of the tributes entered in groups of nine every few moments.
Twelve tables were arranged beside a buffet with Avox servers. As the tributes pass the last table of tarts, cakes and fruit pies they are faced with where to sit.
Tiberius pushed passed everyone to the front of the line, and Verity followed behind him as if she had no idea how rude he was being.

Crystal keeps in step with Verity, pausing as she passes the district three and four group. The tribute speaks to the district three girl as she steps up beside her. "Hello." Crystal gives the near blind - or was she fully blind?- a close look.
"I'm Crystal." Crystal greets both district three tributes. "Jaeger." She indicates her partner. Crystal half turns in the line, waving in a friendly manner to the district four tributes with her. Handshakes may be construed as aggression by Peacekeepers and she didn't want that.
"Hello. How are you?" She asks Kali and Dylan politely.
Crystal steps into line, heaping tangerines, strawberries and salad onto half of her plate.

"He's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same." He came into the room with Kaliana, watching the tables and the others. THere was a great deal of food here, but he didn't move for it right away. He'd been eating decently his entire life--save times when things were sparse for him and he had to make do--but a lot of these people had never seen so much food in one place. It would be overwhelming. He knew that much, and when he did step up the the banquet table he didn't do it to get himself much of anything right away. He took some fruit and a tiny bit of the fish on offer, and then picked up an orange, putting it on the girl from District Three's tray. "These are nice. Sweet. You peel off the outside, and the fruit is inside...and they are very good for you. My Morgan gives them to me when I feel sickness coming on, and they work." He tried to smile a little, hoping that she wasn't completely terrified of him. "I would say not to eat too much, yes? At least, not today. Food here is rich. I will be staying with light things too.""This one is Dylan, and she is Kaliana."He looked to where the Tributes from District Two had pushed to the front of the line, and frowned, though he offered the girl from One--Crystal--a nod in response. "This one thinks that the younglings should eat first. Ana, Ida, Wren...Tyson and Eks, is who we mean. In taking care of each other, we take care of ourselves. So says The One. It is Known."

William and Ana shrunk away from Crystal and Jaegar. They were from District 3. Destined to die horribly probably at the hands of a career. Ana fidgeted nervously or excitedly, maybe. William was practically shaking.
"H-h-hi..." Ana greeted back, looking at her feet. She assumed that Crystal was going to tease her about her disfigurement. Most people did. "Ana... and this... this is William. He likes to be called Billy."
"Ana..." Billy chided.
To Dylan Ana and William seemed to warm to, although they were still wary. Dylan and Kaliani were careers too. "Thanks..."
"Yeah... Thanks... I guess..."
Kaliani nodded to Crystal and Jaeger but she sneered at Tiberius and Verity. Rude. She glanced at Dylan and stepped aside with him.
"What did you say?" Tiberius asked, turning slowly.
Verity stopped him and smiled at Kali with a nod. "Yes, of course. Tiberius, we were blessed. In the name of sportsmanship we should allow the younglins eat first."
Wren and Tyson raised an eyebrow.
"We don't need any handouts or handups," Tye said and Wren nodded in agreement.
Zach chuckled. "Well if they don't want a handout can I take theirs, if we're offerin'."
Jess rolled her eyes. "Zach, ruttin' shut it. You talk too ruttin' much."
Dell laughed at the back of the line. "Maybe we should let District Two go first. You know what they say, age before beauty."

"Hello Ana, Billy." Crystal nods politely to the district three tributes. "Go ahead." She gestured for the district three tributes to step in front of her and Jaeger. "You don't have to," Crystal assures those who didn't want hand outs. "-we're not going to force our will on you. But there's no point of us acting like fools in here. We have a week until the Games and I plan on putting on a few pounds. I hope that I'm not the only one."
She patted her stomach, making a lump with her hand to pretend to have a bulge.
"Kailiana, hello. " Crystal smiles towards district four female. She wasn't sure about the girl and what better way than to get to know people? She had seen the other person's sneer - and just a nod to her and Jaeger.
"What do you think? I thought your Volunteering was..." She paused, considering the reaping. Bold. Progressive. It was starting to be a district 4 thing, wasn't it?
"- it was remarkable. You were so bold." Crystal speaks honestly.
As Dell speaks, Crystal smiles. That guy wasn't afraid.
"Tiberius, Verity - Dell is so wise, isn't he?" Crystal smiles genuinely to her potential district allies. She turns in place to look back at Dell. She recalls the last time that a Career pack seemed genuinely devoted to thier own self interests.
"I personally can't remember how old Dell is..." Crystal tilts her head as she racks her brain. "- and I sure hope the sponsors remember anything about district seven. They sure do need a lot of gifts. Remember Felix's nifty little helmet? And Sassinak had that nifty little arm thing! Those two sure had a lot of fun with those toys, didn't they? Your mentors were ace."
Crystal smiled at Jaeger, Verity and Tiberius. Crystal wasn't sold that Dell was the most dangerous tribute out there. He seemed sort of... entertaining. He had a nice smile. She decided that she wouldn't mess up his face, if she could help it. Seven didn't have to be a bad guy just because he was sparring with her and her potential friends. He just couldn't be her friend if she expected to get Jaeger and herself home.

Jaeger was mostly silent next to Crystal, offering polite friendly smiles. Now was not a time for him to speak so much as listen to the vast array of tributes on hand. He would hear what each had to say in this room before the alloted time for eating was over, he was determined of that.
Of course, he'd prefer some speak less than others, giving a grimace at the frankly pathetic comeback offered by Dell. Yeah, lovely way to ingratiate yourself with a potential ally there Mr Seven. Jaeger made a mental note to suggest to District 2 that they should remember his words in order to chisel them on Dell's tombstone, assuming they left enough of a corpse worth burying.
Jaeger hoped the boy had something going for him besides whatever resources his mentors could send him in the arena, because a winning personality and social skills were clearly two things Dell lacked.
