Notable Families
The Wakefields are a quiet yet honorable family that has produced a religious family, dedicated to the Warrior priests of thier district. Sunshine Wakefield is the only surviving child of her parents, Royce and Breeze Atlantic. Her younger brother Lan perished when she was nine and he was five in an unfourtanate clash with the Peacekeepers. Sunshine was never told the full story, but it was strongly implied that the Atlantic had interfered with the punishment of a good family. Lan's death was the price for such rebellion and interference, for now does a five year old son of fishermen drown? Sunshine's mother became bitter about the loss of her son. Sunshine lost her sister, Summer, two springs past. Her sister had been in labor with her second son when there was a commotion in town. Peacekeepers went door to door, hauling out supposed 'supporters of the royal family - (some knew this was Zale's family, but Sunshine never knew the full details.) The midwife was delayed in attending her patient and Summer and her unnamed son passed with a medical emergency. Sunshine and her husband, Warren, are devoted to Summer's husband, Seth, and thier son Seth II and thier daughter Lorna. The Wakefield's continue the Atlantic tradition of naming children for lost family members and victors, as Lorna was named for Lorne, the 12th Hunger Games victor.
Sunshine has been blessed with delivering a daughter, Ela and twins Atlantic and Pearla, followed by Cypress, Felix and Coraline. Ela is named for the district 7 victor's, Apple's, victim in the 17th Hunger Games. Atlantic was named for Sunshine's departed family and Pearla for District 4's first victor. The third Wakefield daughter bears the name Cypress. Some may whisper from the departure of honoring District Four tributes - and for naming her for a deceased tribute. Sunshine spoke of her choice only once, stating that her daughter had a peaceful spirit and she felt that Cypress had been a good girl, regardless of being a daughter of district seven. When asked about Felix, the parents feign surprise that any one would wonder why this is not a good, solid name. Felix and Coraline are the second sets of twins borne of the Wakefields.
