By signing up to and posting in Roleplay Central, you hereby agree to abide by the following. Ignorance of the Rules is not a permitted defense.
Roleplay Central reserves the right to add to, alter or annex any of the following rules at any time, at which point an announcement will be made to inform all members of said changes.
General Forum Rules
0) Have Fun
This is the most important rule here and hopefully the reason you joined the forum. If for any reason you are not enjoying yourself here, please contact myself and I will try to resolve whatever issues you are having.
1) Discrimination
Treat your fellow forumers with the utmost respect at all times. Doesn't matter if they're white, coloured, young, old, male, female, religious, atheist, straight, gay, Tories or Lib-Dems. Unless they like Pop Tarts in which case there is no hope for them. Please don't use this forum to spread extreme views or beliefs. This is where we come to relax, not to stir up trouble. Controversial opinions do not belong here.
2) Spamming
Please try and avoid making posts in the forum that consist of just one line. This will be treated as spam unless you happen to be in the Fun & Games thread. Refrain from any messages that are pointless, have nothing to do with the discussion at hand or are designed to insult or cause arguments amongst your fellow members. We may let the odd infraction pass but excessive spam will result in penalty.
3) Double Posting
There is an edit button for a reason. Please use it rather than filling a thread with just your own posts. The only exceptions to this rule are if you're posting in the Fanworks Zone and contributing to your own material. We may let the odd infraction pass but excessive double posting will result in penalty.
4) Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of stealing any work that does not belong to you and claiming it as your own. Anyone caught plagiarizing RPC Material or bringing plagiarized material to RPC will find themselves banned and barred from joining the forum as we take this offense very seriously. Be safe; quote your sources.
5) Adult Content
This is absolutely NOT permitted on RPC in any shape or form as it violates the terms of service stated by Proboards. This forum is open to anyone of all ages, and therefore you must not write anything or post any pictures with sexual content. Anyone doing either will be banned immediately. A good guideline is to imagine what would be permissible on a family rated tv show. Allusions are fine, but when it comes to the act itself, skip on to the aftermath.
6) Member Pruning
Once every few months, we prune any members from the forum who have either not posted at all, or been inactive since the last pruning session. To avoid being caught in this, it is suggested you try and post at least once a month if real life is getting in the way of your forum attendance. The only person immune from being pruned in this manner is the last person to join the forum.
7) Unapproved Posting
Please refrain from posting in someone's RP thread if you have not yet had your application accepted. This is more likely to convince the Threadstarter that you are the last person they want in your roleplay, for if you can't even respect this forum rule how can they trust you to respect their own judgment and rulings in the roleplay itself?
8) God-Modding
During an RP it is not okay to suddenly know things your character doesn't know, or develop powers/skills/abilities that have not been approved by the thread-starter. This is God-Modding and is severely frowned upon during role-playing. Continued offence is likely to get your character removed from the role-play. Keep player and character separated.
Warning Levels
RPC operates on a three strike system. Unless one of the rules above states otherwise, each infraction you cause will result in being given one strike. If you have three strikes in total and break another rule, you will be banned.
First Strike: You will be contacted with details of your offence. Consider this your official warning.
Second Strike: You will be contacted with details or your offence and potentially have your forum access revoked for 1-7 days depending on the severity of your infraction.
Third Strike: You will be contacted with details of your offence and your forum access will be revoked for a period of 1-4 weeks depending on the severity of your infraction.
You're Out: Goodbye. Aloha. Au revoir. Adiós. Banned. Barred. Booted. You have been sent to meet your maker, told to push off and requested to go join the choir invisible. You are an EX-MEMBER.
Strikes will be removed for good behavior. Each strike will usually persist for about a week before being stricken from the record. However, this is not invitation to break rules on a weekly basis, as we reserve the right to increase the persistence of a Strike for frequent offenders.
-------------
Ending on a positive note, if anyone has any questions or problems during their stay at RPC, please feel free to contact myself or any other member of Staff via PM, Messenger or Email and we will endeavor to help resolve it to the best of our ability.
Thank you for reading the rules and we look forward to seeing you around RPC.
