After the first day of training, all of the tributes were advised to meet with their mentors over dinner for a strategy session. Luci and his partners went up to the dining room where a full dinner was laid out before them. The center of the table had several chickens, a turret of lamb stew and a rack of ribs. Several plates of rolls, roasted potatoes and steamed asparagus ringed them.
Only four chairs were set; the absence of the frivolous stylist team was an obvious choice.
"Hello." Your mentor greets you. Harmony was sixteen years old when she had been reaped in one of the earlier Hunger Games. Now she was middle aged, soft around the middle and possessing wrinkles that most tributes never dream of.
"I am Harmony. I'm going to do my best to help you through this arena. Do you have any questions for me?"

He's not even sure what to ask. There's a part of him that's still in shock. That still doesn't understand what's going on. He's never been as hungry as some of the others, but he's never been rich enough to afford anything like capital living. The food here is strange and wondrous.
He's almost afraid to eat it. It's as if it's too soft, and it will make him as soft as he appears.
"What do I do? How do I stay alive? I... I don't think that anyone wants to help the tiny girly kid. I've seen the Games before. I look like one of the kids that gets killed at the Cornucopia."

"Thats one thing you want to consider," She nods. "- do you want to stay at Cornucopia? It may be a better idea to grab only the bare essential and get far away from the blood bath. The Blood bath favors the strong. No offense, but I don't see that for you.
Grabbing a weapon and gear in the first few moments and running like hell may be your best bet. How are you at running?"

"Running I can manage. I'm fast and I can climb." Grab whatever is closest and run like hell. That maybe he can manage. "I think I can pull that off." Or at least it was better than any other idea he had. "I can't win in a one on one fight."

"Good. That is what I would do for Cornucopia, then." Your mentor affirms. "Now you mention that you can climb trees. I would certainly try and remain hidden from the other tributes. They will be looking for the weaker tributes on the ground.
Now have you given any thought to what stations you will be taking at the training center? I would recommend improving on something you're already good at and picking up a new skill. Maybe a survival skill."

"I was thinking some added strength wouldn't be bad. I should probably learn to use a weapon. Maybe something about plants? The ones I'm familiar with are mostly power plants." And it was better to know which ones could kill him by accident.

"Strength is never a bad thing. One thing you need to worry about is that there are more tributes than usual. It only takes one to take you down."
Your questions are considered. "A weapon is essential. Unless you manage to completely hide, you have to deal with tributes, mutations and whatever else is out there. Plants are a good idea... they may be a good source of food and medicinal needs.
Have you thought about what weapon you may want to learn?"

"I don't know. I'm quick and athletic. Something that works off my strengths. I don't think I'm going to be bashing anyone's head in with a club." He looks rather green at the statement.
It still hasn't really sunk in that he's going to be killing people.

"You may want to try for something lighter. There are several things that don't need brute strength to wield well - throwing knives and axes, for example. Since Singer's success with the blow gun, they've added that station. I also caught a glimpse of chakrams, something that is a bit unusual for the games..." "Chak what?" Cain, the brother of last year's district 5 has spoken up. The girl, Sandy, is more focused on eating than talking. "Its a throwing weapon." Harmony explains. "A spinning disc with cutting surfaces that returns to the wielder. Likely takes some practice, but not a bad choice."
