Mystique nods at her old friend, but isn't convinced leaving the Institute is such a good idea for her - I feel vulnerable in my current 'cured' condition, who knows what could happen to me out there? She thinks, but refrains from saying so aloud in present company - The last person she wants seeing her as weak again, Magneto, had not yet left the room. "I'd be interested in hearing more on that subject, Hank; After all, I did take over from Senator Kelly for a while, when I was capable of doing so... Perhaps there is some way I can contribute to the cause..." She offered, trying to find a way to be useful during her stay.
Raven couldn't help overhearing Priya and committing her number to memory - She had no idea whether, why, or how she might use such information at present, but she'd learned long ago the value of seemingly useless information can sometimes be surprisingly high.
Raven wanted to respond to this straight away, but prudence insisted she wait 'til Magneto was out of earshot first. When he left, she replied: "Thankyou for allowing me to stay, I am most grateful for your hospitality and sanctuary. I don't blame you for disbelieving my claim to be no threat in my current condition, though it is of course true. - It is your prerogative to judge a former enemy harshly at first, until she proves her loyalties are honourable. If you wish me to stay in a holding cell tonight, I will do so willingly. However: Everything I did against the X-Men in the past was under direction from Magneto, and you allow him to stay here without so much as a guard at his door, whereas I who have severed ties with him since he abandoned me still receive the hostile treatment. - I am curious how that works... And let's not forget HE is also a fugitive from the government, though he can obviously defend himself having regained his magnetic abilities whereas I cannot." she sighed. "If you still insist on a holding-cell, can I at least get a change of clothes?" Raven indicated the stolen guard's uniform she had on with distaste, "I'd rather not be reminded of that place..."

Storm studied Raven for a moment. Her mind working to find her words. Both Mystique and Wolverine didn't seem to understand it wasn't always the point that they trying to get across that was offensive, but how they they tried to make said point. Both had no idea how unbelievably condensing they were.
"You are not wrong. But even your former leader would tell you that 'Just following orders' does not excuse one's behavior. If you had an issue with his mission it was your obligation to question it," Ororo said. Her tone was cool and her face was expressionless.
"Magneto is a fugitive," Storm said with a nod. "However, he came to this school with two children he himself saved. He also proved that he could follow my lead. So while I may not agree with Magneto, he does have honor. And do you really think putting him in a holding cell with guards would stop fully restored Magneto?"
Storm took a deep breath and then nodded. "We have some clothes that will fit you." she turned to Beast. "Hank, can you accompany us please?"

Hank watched the exchange between Mystique and Storm with a deepening frown.
"You have been with Magneto for years." He stated with concern. "I am very curious how you intend to prove your loyalty to us while you seem to be concerned with a grudge that you have against Magneto. "
The professor nodded to Storm, agreeing to accompany Mystique.

Mystique lowered her head in shame and sighed; "You are right, of course - My only defence to that is I was completely under his spell, devoted to him and his cause, and still would be if he hadn't abandoned me like that and broken the spell. I want nothing more to do with him, I see no reason to forgive him for that. I used to think he cared for me, as in the real me, but now I see what he really liked was my mutation, perhaps he also had a fetish for the way I looked in my natural state - That'd explain a lot; Without my blue-scale look and abilities he turne.... But I digress." She swallowed hard at the painful memory that would forever turn her away from Magneto and prevent her falling under his spell ever again, and turned her words to something more positive; What she had meant to get to sooner - "I see the way the X-Men look after their own. I used to think Eric would look after his followers like that, particularly those most devoted to him and his cause. I was wrong. Those blinkers are gone now, I finally saw what Xavier understood about him. Unlike Magneto, the X-Men truly care for their own; Mutant and non-mutants alike - I encountered your proxy earlier, before your return: Non-mutant, right? Yet still part of the team, still 'Family'. I wish I'd seen the truth earlier, but I can't change the past. It is too soon for me to ask your forgiveness for who I was and what I did against your family. All I can hope is that I'm given a chance to prove the veracity of my words. If Charles were here, he'd know I'm being honest... Logan told me when we arrived that he was no-longer..." She gulped to prevent herself completing that sentence, a tear threatening to fall from one of her human eyes; Without her mutation, Raven was no-longer the powerful woman she once was.
When Eric had left the room, when she was sure he was out of range, she'd let her mask slip a little - It was now obvious how tired and frail she was after dealing with today's events with a body that was merely human, in both appearance and endurance. Even remaining on her feet required enormous effort.
"I'm truly sorry for your loss. For whatever it's worth, I feel it too. - He and I grew up together, yet because of his promise to never invade my mind, he was oblivious to the extent of my feelings for him. He let me go with Eric with his blessing - Perhaps he thought I could temper the man's ambitions, I'm still not sure why he let me go though." She was rambling again, barely able to catch herself in her current physical exhaustion.
"Not exactly what I was getting at. Only that he's much more of a threat than me, yet he's trusted with a room under this roof, where he can influence and manipulate everyone - staff and students alike - into thinking he has changed. It'll take more than a few rescued strays to convince ME, but I shouldn't need to warn you of his duplicity. I only hope you realize his true motives before it's too late... That girl*, for example - Seems to me he's almost managed to recruit her already, but then again what would I know about it? I don't even know her name, but I'm sure you know all about her. - I hope he doesn't do to her what he did to me..." she trailed off again. Unlike Eric, Raven wasn't trying to manipulate anyone. She just wanted Storm to know what she was thinking, what she'd observed, knowing Magneto as intimately as she was ashamed she did.
"Thankyou, I look forward to getting out of this hideous uniform." Raven said, undoing the cuffs of the starched uniform-blouse as she turned her attention back to her old friend Beast.
"Exactly. Years. I figure I know him quite well, particularly how expertly he pulled the wool over my eyes. Help me regain my mutation and I will assist your cause however I can. If you doubt I can be loyal, why not ask Eric? HE knows how loyal I can be, and you do seem to be on speaking-terms with him. As for my grudge, I will keep that in check as best I can. I don't deny I have one - Can you really blame me after what he did? - But I won't let it harm the X-Men's cause. I'd just as soon pretend he doesn't exist, quite frankly, but I am concerned about his intentions here. - Should I keep them to myself, or is there someone I should bring them to when I sense something isn't right? I don't want to step on any more toes if I can help it." she said candidly, turning in the direction she knew the holding cells lay, ready to be accompanied there.
She wondered how soon she'd get her requested change of clothing...

"Mystique, what did he do to you?" Hank inquired, curiousity mired with concern. "You should be assured we're not handing him the keys to the castle. Yet he was instrumental in helping us on this last mission. He literally ripped his way inside the compound so that we could rescue the kidnapped children, including our own Rogue. He also did not engage us in arguments over our differing perspective and philosohy." Hank observed. "Perhaps the Professor's death and this threat to mutant children can unite us for a bit." Hank shrugged, genuinely appearing uncertain to the validity of that hope.
"I do want to mention something that you stated earlier... about regaining your mutation. I can't gaurantee that." Hank was quick to point out. "Nothing that I did brought back Magneto's abilities. Only time. "

Storm's expression was devoid of emotion. A calm, gentle mask. The only time she wavered was at the mention of the Professor. She missed him. His absence was still felt in the halls. Some of the older students mourned for him as she did.
"The Professor let you go, Mystique because he believed, like I believe that one should be allowed to choose their own destiny. Which is why I cannot and will not limit the students' exposure to Magneto. Whether they choose the Professor's path or Magneto's it still has to be their decision. And that decision must be an informed one. If you truly are concerned about his plan for the students, speak out, share your experiences. Me, demanding the children to follow the path of peace won't help dissuade them. Turning Magneto away won't help either. But you telling your story might." Storm said with a slight nod. She still didn't know what to believe. So long as she knew where one of them where, Mystique or Magneto, she could control this situation somewhat. As far as Storm knew Magneto and Mystique were still working together. And this was all part of their plan.
"I wouldn't go as far to say that Magneto is trusted," Storm told Mystique. "And you're speaking about Devon...
"The X-Men rescued Devon six months ago from a facility very similar to the one we infiltrated tonight. Everyone in the building had been killed. Mutants, humans, captives, staff. All of them dead, save for Devon. She has no memory of her life before the age of 7 when she woke up in that place. And she has no memory of the event that decimated the facility.
These people marked her, experimented on her... I still don't know the extent of the abuse she has suffered. And while I sympathize with her, I do not know what she must be going through, or how to keep on living after something like that. Magneto does. So right now, Devon's mental well-being is more important than whether or not she agrees or buys into his philosophy."
Storm didn't care if Mystique understood or not. She wasn't in charge of this school. Ororo was headmaster. And she was there to help these students not clip their wings or demand they behave a certain way. They had had enough of that before they arrived at the school. She couldn't in good conscious be yet another person that policed their thoughts.
"I cannot ask Magneto to be your professional reference. Trust isn't given that way. It's earned. I, personally do not believe you can be loyal or trustworthy. But don't let that stop you from attempting to prove me wrong. And any concerns you have, bring them to me. Despite my personal feelings, I will listen to your concerns when it's about the safety of these students," Storm replied, nodding when Hank added his bit about the possibility of Raven being cured.

"I do hope you are not pinning your loyalty on the possibility that we can help you regain your abilities." Hank said slowly. "They may return or they may never return. I do hope that you would not give Storm or the others who depend on the safety of this school cause to distrust you."
He turns to Ororo.
"I agree, I doubt that Devon is going to be subverted to the Brotherhood. It seems like Pyro is leading an offshoot; and even he didn't stay to reconnect with Magneto. There's a possibility that the connection has been severed. "

Raven turned to face Beast's question head-on. "The cure-dart that hit me was meant for him. I got in the way deliberately; literally becoming a Human shield as I sacrificed my mutation for him. In 'gratitude', when I was prone helpless on the ground and asked him to help me, he said..." She visibly gulped before forcing those hated words past her lips. "He said 'What use are you to me now.' as a rhetorical question, literally turned his back on me, and walked away. Discarding me to whatever fate had in store for me as if I were merely a broken tool. That's when I realized my mistake - He never felt for me as I had for him; he simply saw my feelings as a means to manipulate my abilities, nothing more."
By this point her words had taken on an unearthly monotone from her increasingly blank expression and haunted eyes as she started to shake with the suppressed rage and hurt Magneto had caused her. She took a moment of silence to recover from reliving that painful memory before responding to anything else.
"Maybe, maybe not. Like me, you probably won't find out for sure until it's too late. I'd suggest you make use of him while you can. - The moment his plans no-longer align with yours, he'll abandon you and go his own way, so keep that in mind and I'm sure you'll find a way to use his talents without tempting him to leave and pursue his own cause again too soon. I imagine once this group of mutant-nappers have been eliminated, he'll probably take his leave anyway." Raven replied candidly, volunteering her perspective on Eric's personality and motives as a show of good-faith on her part of the deal she proposed.
"I'm fully aware of that, Hank." She took a quick glance around to make sure only Storm and Beast would hear her next words, then lowered her voice and said, secretively: "As it happens, my mutation has spontaneously begun to re-assert itself, although painfully slowly. If you can 'grease-the-wheels' and help nature take its restorative course, I would be eternally grateful. Oh, and I'd prefer Mags doesn't find out, if at all possible?" This last was aimed at both of them, but was more a request for Storm as she was in overall charge here and it would be her decision if they kept this secret from him.
At this, Mystique actually managed a small smile. "You sounded a lot like him just then; Like Xavier. - I can see why he chose you as his successor here, Storm. And I will keep you informed whenever I spot something regarding Mags that might be missed by someone who doesn't know him as well as I do. I also hope that should anyone here, faculty or student, wish to converse with me you'll allow that too, just as you allow them to converse with him?" This being slightly rhetorical as it seemed a pretty fair request.
Raven listened intently as Storm talked about Devon's history, and understood the similarity to Magneto's own past. She let one positive thought about him slip out - "I see. Well, who knows... Maybe Devon will have a positive effect on Eric's own philosophies and policies... They do seem to share a few commonalities in their pasts. I do hope that is the case, and not the reverse. - Good luck to her, I say."
"Fair enough. I hope I can prove myself to your satisfaction someday. In the meantime I simply ask that you put me in situations where my actions will help my case in this respect. - Hard to prove I can be trusted from the inside of a holding-cell. Nevertheless, I hope my willingness to submit to 'capture' in this way helps my cause a little?" She stifled a yawn, trying not to seem rude in her tiredness.
"No, not on whether you CAN restore my abilities Hank. Merely that you try. Obviously I'm more help to the cause with my abilities than without, but even without them I'll help if I can. - Let me know how I can be useful, and I'll do my best." Mystique had placed a hand on his shoulder as she replied such, then let it drop to her side again after.
At this, Mystique smirked with mild amusement. "The idea of Pyro in charge of ANYONE is highly unlikely, especially members of Magneto's Brotherhood. He's a great guy, and he means well, but he's more of a lone-wolf. If anyone is following his lead, it's more likely for their own amusement than to follow a particular 'cause'. A showman, yes. But a real threat? I doubt he even thinks that far. To me, he seems to be simply blowing off steam in Mags' absence."
Having spent a lot of time here in the past, Mystique had a good idea where the holding-cells would be and started toward them, assuming she'd be kept company along the way. She hoped she could change clothes soon...

Logan caught up to Raven, Hank and Storm down in the holding cell area. He had thought that thery may have gotten Raven into her cell and left already, but he could see that they were deep in a conversation of their own. He did not want to interrupt again but too late. He just stood there in awkward silence like a deer caught in the headlights of a car.

"I have no intention of speaking with Magneto about what is discussed here." It was Storm's way of telling Raven that she'd keep her secret.
Ororo's neutrality wavier for just a moment when Raven mentioned the Professor. The truth was, she wasn't chosen. It was supposed to be Scott or Jean. Storm wasn't meant to be the leader. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Then Storm nodded. "I do not see any issues with you interacting with the students and staff."
On the subject of Magneto and Devon, Storm had one more thing to add. "Devon is... an interesting case, so I can only hope she can show him a better way."
They continued walking and Ororo listened to Mystique go on. She almost frowned. "On the subject of respect... The borderline sarcasm is not something that will endear you to me. You are being put in this holding cell because I do not know if you and Magneto are still a team. This could all just be a clever rue. So as long as I know where one of you are, I feel like I have a handle on things."
"Pryo without guidance is more dangerous than Pryo being ordered around by Magneto. It'll be something that will have to be dealt with eventually..." Storm said as they arrived at the holding cells. She looked at Wolverine and shook her head. Ororo didn't even want to know. So she around a corner and retrieved some clothes for Raven.
"Here you are."

"Nice to see you also, Storm," Logan said dripping with sarcasm.
It was not his fault that he had felt that he needed to interceed between Pyro and the people trying to stop him earlier, but his actions probably saved lives. It all went sideways from there.
"You know I came within an inch of playing slice and dice with John earlier. I still owe him a beat down. It'll take a half dozen or so beat downs before that boy learns his place in the world," Logan added in an attempt to explain his actions this afternoon.
Logan smiled a Raven a friendly smile and nothing more, "I'd like to speak to Raven in private if you don't mind."

"Logan, is there a problem?" Hank asked Logan in a perfectly civil tone of voice. "You are being very disrespectful to Ororo tonight. You argued with her in front of the students and perfect strangers. As far as I know, there is no disagreement between the two of you." He glanced towards Ororo with a questioning glance.
"So yes, I do mind you joining us and then assuming that we'd leave to suit you when you haven't shown us a bit of respect today."

"Sorry about that Hank, but it takes two to argue. If she hadn't laid into me the moment she got back, that would have gone much differently. It was not my intention to bring both Raven and John back here, only to stop him from frying some guards, soldiers. It all went sideways from there. I did not have time to explain my actions if I was going to save lives. How many times do I have to explain this?"
Logan spoke in an even voice, "In a tactical situation, I usually take the lead. I din't know what to do after so I decided to come here and consult with you and Storm. Then, I got an ear full."
Logan pursed his lips as he spoke that last sentence.

"Logan... At this point you are abusing sarcasm and testing my patience. Both are unwise." Storm said. "It takes two to argue... Ironic coming from the man who thinks he's a one-person wreaking crew."
She put her hand on Hank's shoulder. "It's okay, Hank. Logan is one wrong move away of being asked to leave. Promise to the professor or not, I will not allow someone so blatantly challenge my leadership. And trust me Logan, if the next thing out of your mouth is remotely disrespectful or sarcastic that will be your final strike. And as regards to your position as tactical leader... Consider it suspended until further notice."
Storm glanced at Raven and then opened the cell door.

"I am not interested in excuses." Hank replied. "We can rely on you to protect the students, Logan. You have always helped us in our missions in the past. Yet today you went off on your own to help Mystique escape rightful prosecution from the authorities- not sure why- and you completely missed our mission where we rescued kidnapped children. I understand that you are angry with Pyro and want to fight with him, but we don't need that right now. We have three more kidnapped children to find. I'm curious if you're going to help us with that or are you more concerned with speaking with Mystique privately... and what is your sudden interest in Mystique? Why must you speak to her in private?"

"The Xmen are not a heirarchy. There is no one incharge of the Xmen. We are a group of peers working towards common goals. That's how it was in the past, when did that change?" Logan stated in a pleading tone, "You are in charge of the school, but the Xmen and the school are two different things."
"Come on Ororo, I did not help her escape. She would have escaped with Pyro without my intervention, only there would have been a dozen dead or wounded guards to boot. This way we had both Pyro and Raven, but you kicked him out. I would have been glad to escort numbskull to one of these cells myself given a chance. We can still turn Raven over to the authorities if you think it best, but I don't think we should talk about her right in front of her."
Logan's train of thought got lost for a moment, but then he continued, "Not only did I not help her escape," Logan points to the fact that Raven is in a holding cell, "I brought you Pyro on a silver plater, and you let him go. I saved about a dozen peoples lives from being burned alive. Pretty good days work if you ask me."
Logan started to laugh out loud, "If you're going to call yourself our leader, you should be able to see victory when it's put in your lap."
"Escaped," Logan continued to laugh, "Do you feel like you're free, Raven?"
"Hank, for sure you can count on me to help in the rescue," Logan switched gears again to serious, "Where do you need me."
"As to me and Raven, we started a dance at the Statue of Liberty. I left my mark on her, and I'd like to see it to conclusion."
Logan winked at Raven so she could see it.
"I think I understand her better than you Hank. You had your chance, but the scientist in you couldn't see it or act on it. Magneto plays everyone like they're a pawn on a chess board, so he mistaked his queen for his pawn. I will not make either mistake."

Ororo shook her head. "That's where you're wrong, Logan. The X-Men do have a hierarchy; a chain of command. We all took orders from the Professor. And Scott when we were in the field. I understand that you have no clue how things were done in the past, but I do know one thing, you are not in charge here. You do not dictate policy to me. And you will not tell me how to run this school or lead the X-Men."
She took a breath and let it out. "You didn't wait for orders, Logan. You did your own things as usual. If you were supposed to be the field leader than why was it up to me to actually lead both missions?" She paused. "It's a good thing I did not ask for your opinion on Pryo. John was once a former student and he's lost his way, so I can't have him here. He is a danger to my students. And Raven would have been sent her walking papers as well if you did not have such a soft spot for her... Why is that, Logan? How can you abandon your teammates and not only defend a known enemy but also chastize me for not doing the same?"
Storm shook her head. "You still haven't answered Hank's question, Logan. Why do you need to speak with Mystique alone?" She took a step forward when he chuckled. "You are trying my patience and you are also inches away from being being asked to leave. If that happens you are more than welcome to take Mystique as well. But please, continue...
"I once defended you to Scott. I told him you could set aside your issues, work as a team, and understand that in order to lead, you have to know how to follow. And you proved me wrong, Logan. You won't take an order that you don't like. And that is why you won't be leading anyone in the field until I can see you have improved.
"You attacked human soldiers who were just trying to do their jobs and recapture a known terrorist. And not only did you jeopardize their efforts, you disobeyed me, you abandon our mission, you've sided with someone you once stabbed through the stomach, and most importantly you showed the country that the mutants, even the X-Men are a danger to them. So tell me again how we came away victorious from that."

"I did not attack the soldiers; I saved their lives by coming between them and Pryo's flames. I saved their lives and captured the one who was trying to kill them. Then after that I stopped him from trying to fry anymore because my claw was under his chin. You might have missed it, but that is what happened. I did not side with Pyro or Raven. I did what the soldiers failed to do. I kept Raven in custody and had the one who tried to free her in custody," Logan was pretty pissed at being accused of attacking the soldiers, Can't you see it, Storm, if I had not acted in that split second, Pyro would have fried those soldiers and he and Raven would have gotten away."
"Our problem is that we are seeing the same thing from two diferent poionts of view. The soldiers I knocked out of the way would know the truth of my words. I saved them and got fired pretty good myself. What was I supposed to do just stand there waiting for orders while Pyro killed a dozen people?"
"The only reason I'm an Xman is that it is not have a strick chain of command. I could have stayed working for Stryker if I wanted that," Logan's voice was full of fury now, "And, you will quit accusing me of helping her before you really piss me off."
"We could have put Pyro in a cell and handed him to the authorties later. I'm sure they would have loved to have him," Logan spoke with a more even tone, "He would not have had to have any contact with the students."

"A leader needs to be fair minded and take in all points of view," Logan spoke loud enough so Storm could hear him, "You accuse me wrongly of treason and expect me to take it lying down, you got that one wrong. I moved today to save lives. Any leader who tells me that is wrong is not worthy of being an Xmen let alone being the leader of the Xmen. If you want to be the leader start acting like a leader and quite demanding that you be followed. Right here, right now, you've made things ten times worse than they are. There is another organization kidnapping young mutants and experimenting on them. What's important, our petty squabble or putting an end to that organization. I will not go anywhere till this threat is neutralized."
Logan continued with a toned down attitude and hurt showing in his voice, "Do you really believe that I attacked those guards? If I really did, do you think that they would have gotten up? Some one had to stop Pyro from flaming more people. The only way I could do that was by keeping my claws at his throat. What was I supposed to do, stop one helocopter and let Pyro kill all the guards, so he and Raven could escape?"
"I'm the Xmen's advanced guard, I go in first and scout things out. Sometimes I go in and get lost for a while, but I always come home and report. Just tell me where you think I should go, and I'll check it out."

"I believe she has told you where she wants you to go." Hank says heavily in a saddened tone. He did not like this development, but his face was one of neutrality.
"Ororo says you can take Mystique and go. I have to go check in with my students," He checked his watch. "- who have just arrived. Do you wish for me to release Mystique to you now? I may be occupied later in the evening."

I glanced at the hunk as his arrival drew my attention, but only briefly so he'd know I was welcoming him.
A relieved smile crossed my face at Storm's assurance of not telling Magneto what was going on with my powers, and I gave her a small nod of gratitude for that and allowing whoever wanted a conversation with me to do so freely.
To this I had little to say other than "Okay." I was too tired to register the distaste at the possibility Magneto and I could ever be on the same team again.
I gratefully took the bundle of clothes she presented to me with a smile and a "Thankyou". I was actually looking forward to the holding-cell now for the simple fact of somewhere to change my clothes.
I turned just my head to return his smile, but hid the blush at his words. I stayed silent as an argument ensued, trying to keep out of it even while my name was mentioned.
I barely hesitated before entering the open holding cell, just enough to show I was choosing to enter voluntarily rather than being forced. I placing the new clothes on the bed in front of me, and took the guard's top off. I was briefly topless, facing away from everyone but still in full view; I didn't care that they all would see my bare back while I changed my top for the plain white one Storm had provided me. In fact, the idea of Logan watching this tickled my senses a little - I wondered if he'd react, and how...
The new top was cotton, but not scratchy nor starchy. I didn't button it all the way up, but let it show off a little of my cleavage - Just enough to be lady-like.
I'd been half-listening to the conversation going on outside my holding-cell as I changed, but when I heard what Beast said I was glad to still be facing away from them where they couldn't see my blush. I listened intently for Logan's reply...
I blanched at this, though this also remained unseen. I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet, but I preferred to know what was planned for me than have that happen behind my back, if it came to a choice.
I chuckled audibly at that comment while shaking my head No.
At his words I subconsciously placed my right hand on my abdomen, lightly brushing my fingertips over where those scars were. I turned my head just in time to catch him winking at me, and smiled back at him broadly.
"You got THAT right..." I muttered under my breath. Storm probably wouldn't have heard, but Hank and Logan's hearing was well above human level, so they probably heard it.
My heart skipped a beat at THAT comment, but although I liked the idea of going with Wolverine, my chances of getting my abilities back were much better with the X-Men's help than out on the road with a rugged, handsome Canadian.
I silently disagreed with that - after all I'd been glad of the opportunity to make a deal that might get me some help from the X-Men without having to just show up on their doorstep a few days later, seeking asylum.
He had helped me, but that hadn't really been his intention at the time.
My heart skipped a beat again. The same beat as before, for the same reason. I hoped I wasn't getting kicked out of the Institute, for that's how it sounded...
I didn't like the way this was heading. Not one little bit.
"Hank, will you still help me if I go with Logan? I wish to help the X-Men and prove my new loyalties - How do I do that outside of the Institute? And I REALLY don't want to get on Storm's bad side any more-so than I already am. If you instruct me to go with Logan, I will do so and remain in his custody. - He can keep an eye on me and hopefully vouch for my actions being in the X-Men's best interests. - But if by leaving the institute I can no longer count on your help with my 'condition', I'd rather stay here with you and get the help than leave and not."

Mystique:
"Now you are irritating me." Hank replied shortly. "That would be up to Storm." Hank had simply to Mystique. "I believe she offered to release you to Wolverine due to his insistence that he speak to you. If you wish to stay, do so and we'll discuss the Cure at a later time."
He checked his watch. It was clear that the decision was to be made quickly.

With no answer, Hank decided. "I need to get to my students. If you decide to take Mystique with you, come and find me Hank." He gave Logan a long look. "Good luck. Your attitude may not mesh with the Xmen now; but I hope you find your answers."
The blue professor turned and made his way back to his students.
