What has happened: In the events of Xmen: The Last Stand, Magneto was injected with the cure by Beast. Wolverine told Storm to evacuate every one and took on Phoenix alone. His regeneration ability barely withstood her deterioration attack; but Jean managed to break through for one final moment between Wolverine and Jean. Wolverine killed Jean and wept; holding her dead body.
Storm became HeadMistress at the Professor's 'death, Logan became a teacher and Rogue told Iceman that she has taken the 'Cure'. Elsewhere, Magneto realizes some remnant of his ability may be returning... IC Events: Yesterday, the Xmen and Magneto had led a rescue mission to save their abducted Rogue. They were successful in breaking into a facility and saving four children - Jimmy; the telepath, Priya; the flier enhanced with super - strength, Shade; the shadow manipulator and Sophia, the water manipulator. Yet the highly organized team of abductors had whisked a drugged Rogue out to parts unknown. Bobby had also been incapacitated by a dart that had knocked him out for twelve hours. Upon regaining consciousness, he can not manifest his powers. Had the dart forcibly cured him? How had they lost Rogue? Were too few on the team? Had there been too many distractions at once? The Xmen return to the Mansion burning with hurt pride, but welcome two new student - boarders: Priya and Shade. Another positive outlook was that the newly freed Jimmy and Sophia were reunited with Chelsea and Ryan, siblings with undisclosed mutations. These four had been reunited with thier parents, but strongly wish to join the X - Men when they search for the Rehabilitation Facility. The chart that had been posted at the Laboratory has been posted in the ready room of the X - Men, displaying what these mysterious abductors had done. The chart pinned to the wall had subject designations, locations, abilities... - Subject Zero Power ~ Elastic Skin Location: Rehabilitation Facility
- Subject One Power ~Electric Control Location: Rehabilitation Facility
- Subject Two Power ~ Invisibility Location: Rehabilitation Facility
- Subject Three Power ~ Super Strength, Power Absorption, Flight Location: Laboratory
- Subject Four Power ~ Telepathy Location: Laboratory
- Subject Five Power ~ Water Control Location: Laboratory
- Subject Six Power ~ Shadow Manipulation Location: Laboratory
- Subject Seven Power ~ Power Absorption Location: Laboratory
Timeline: This is two weeks after X-Men: The Last Stand Plot:We open with Storm establishing the school after the chaos of the attack; creating a normal class schedule, dealing with Logan's unorthodox teaching and the group mourns the loss of Jean, Scott and the Professor. However, the X - Men receive reports that four hours ago in pre - dawn, mutants bent on the overturning of the Cure have broken into a facility and have freed the 'cured' Mystique. Video evidence cites that Pyro and Kid Omega led the attack. Another video is shown of rampaging mutants causing vandalism and attacks on police officers in Washington D.C., but the group disbands without any one being apprehended. In the corner of the shot, a man with a startling resemblance to Cyclops, AKA Scott Summers, is seen regarding the scene without any sort of sunglasses. Violent Mutants are once again making a strike for humanity - is Scott Summers back - without his glasses? - and how will the X - Men reform and combat the threat to humanity? All X - Men living at the end of The Last Stand are available to play, heroes and villains alike. Anna Marie: Rogue, Former Mutant “I could spit on him, if I wasn’t a lady.” “Rogue.” Rogue’s eyes fluttered open. It was a different sensation to waking up from a deep slumber. There was still the grogginess, the dry mouth, but this time her vision was blurred. She was unable to so much as concentrate on one single thing. Voices. She could hear voices. “Who... Where...” Rogue moved her head from side to side, attempted to move her limbs but found that she was tied down. Her tongue felt heavy and too dry behind her lips, and she didn’t know if her words were even coming through clearly or not. Apparently, someone had seen her, because she felt a sharp prick in her upper arm. “Sleep...” The word fell on almost deaf ears as Rogue’s eyelids once again grew heavy. “It’s time to go.” Darkness submerged her, and Rogue sunk into unconsciousness with the final sensation that she was falling through the air.

Riley laid in her cage, underneath a filtered sun lamp. Her hair was red and her skin was covered with a red rubber. The rubber came from the recent addition of genes from a rubber tree. She liked it better than the fur or scales she had used before to cover herself, it was more like clothing and insulated her from the shocks they gave her through the sides of the cage. The red was because of red chlorophyll, their most recent experiment with her. They did many experiments with her, They were pleased with her ability to express genetic traits of other organisms, including some plants and bacteria. They had been exposing her to wide variety of them while she was here. They were not so pleased on her inability to express any other mutant traits. They had tried, and planned to do so again. She heard them talking about a new mutant they had captured, some kind of power absorber, they were hopeful at the possibility of combining their powers. Her cage was well secured and insulated, they were careful with Riley; restraints are not practical for securing a shapeshifter and Riley could make herself look like one of the researchers or guards. So they kept her in a cage like a lab rat and treated her much like one. They did tests all the time on her, the current one left her hungry, they limited her food intake and were making her use the sunlight instead, it worked, barely. The also referred to her as an 'it'. Riley could change gender back and forth and had no true one, but it still was dehumanizing. So were all the animal traits they made her express for the tests. In addition to the red and the rubber, Riley also still had a long prehensile tail, as well as monkey like feet, and cat like eyes and ears. She could make herself look fully human, but had given up on doing that at this point, instead trying to save her strength for their next experiment. Her enhanced hearing let her listen through the cage, there was something going on out there now. It had them worried, maybe the new girl was too much for them to handle? This might be her only chance for escape, Riley thought; but she had to get out of her cage somehow. It seemed bleak, even if the other mutants were escaping, they’d have no way of knowing Riley was down here, they never exposed her to any of the others. She only knew about them through eavesdropping and being told about their powers in hopes it might help her to express them. ~Riley~ (an original character application)
Powers:Shapeshifting: Riley is able to change his appearance, gender, and physical attributes. This includes being able to look and sound like another person, or to take on the physical characteristics of many animals. This is similar to Mystique’s power but varies in a few ways: No “True” form: Riley’s ability changes her own body, if any effect prevents Riley from using her mutant powers, she will not ‘revert’ back to anything, she will simply be unable to make any further alterations, and effectively be stuck in whatever form she is currently in. Animal aspects: Riley is also able to take on the physical characteristics of a wide variety of animals and even plants. This includes being able for form claws (not metal), a tail, wings, fangs, venom, even tentacles. He can change fully into animal of similar size to himself (such as a wolf) but rarely does so (partly due to not being able to alter clothing.) Instead he prefers to take on aspects of several different creatures at once, using them to enhance his senses, mobility and fighting ability. Regeneration: The ability to alter her own body allows Riley the ability to reform damaged or even lost tissue. This in some ways rivals Logan’s ability but its not a normal use of Riley’s power, and thus is very draining, leaving Riley unable to do much after receiving any serious injury. Limitations:Unable to make/alter clothing: Riley can form a layer of fur, scales, or even rubber on his skin, which can be made almost any color, but this is directly attached to his skin. Any looser or non-natural forms of clothing Riley simply cannot make or alter, and must change like anyone else would. Because of this, Riley will often dress in multiple layers, and/or keep a change of clothes nearby, in case she needs to ‘become someone else’ in a hurry. She’s also gotten fairly good at subduing people and taking their clothing fairly quickly, but this is just an acquired skill, not a mutant power. Size: Riley can’t change his size very much, which is fairly average for a young adult, he can make himself look like a full sized adult, or a teenager, but not an exceptionally large or fat person, or a child. This also limits his ability for shifting into animals. He can make himself into animals that are normally larger or smaller, but they will be human sized, which is often not practical. (Examples: very small bear or very large dog). Fatigue: Altering her body is physically draining for Riley. There isn’t really a hard limit on how much Riley can shift, but making major changes very rapidly will cause her to become exhausted, making further alterations more difficult until she has had to chance to rest and recuperate. Recovering from injury is especially draining and can even cause her to pass out.

Oh, wonderful. Lite you are awarded Rogue and Arcantrix Riley is approved. I will have a thread up for you to post to asap. The other writers should be mobilizing to come rescue your characters soon.

“Morning.” The voice was familiar. I knew who she was, so I knew where I was. I tried to move and just managed to turn my head slightly. Could I speak? “Hello, Moira…” It took a little effort to get the words out, but I managed it. And somehow it still sounded like my old voice – Curious… Doctor MacTaggert was understandably taken aback with recognition but after a few seconds she replied: “…Charles” I didn't know how much time had passed, but it had seemed an eternity to me. She still looked as I remembered her, so at least I hadn’t been ‘gone’ long in reality. “Yes, it’s me. Understand I didn’t have much choice… It was either this… Or death. I hope I chose wisely…” The words were an effort: I wasn’t used to this body, and it had been immobile for such a long time almost all its muscles had atrophied. Moira had sent me a video from Muir Island of this poor young soul, completely catatonic, no brain activity save for basic life-support. I’d asked some of my students about the ethics of what I had now done. There were understandably mixed views on the matter. I hope those who didn’t like the idea will forgive me… “Tell them… I’m here… Sort-of…” A small chuckle tried to escape, but I lost consciousness partway through and knew no more ‘til I next awoke. --*-- Powers: Will regain his own powers gradually over time, in the interim some weak telekinesis and short-range astral-projection from his host body. Dangerous to try astral-projection ‘til he’s stronger and gotten used to his new form, in case he disperses. Host body’s astral-projection power made Xavier’s transference easier than if he’d tried with a non-mutant host, for example. From my own research, Muir Island facility cares exclusively (or almost exclusively) for mutants, so this does make cannon sense. I also thought this might stir up the RP a bit NB: No timeline is given for the post-credits easter-egg ending to X3, it could well have taken a week or so to integrate with his new body.

Hello Fu,
Where is this body located? Whom is this? I never saw this Easter egg. We'd also have to decide how long it would take for his powers to return, as I'm deciding that with Rogue as well. Post in here.

Muir Island is an (apparently fictitious) island off the coast of Scotland. My first 3 short para's (from 'Morning' to 'Charles') are a literal transcript of what happens in the 20-second easter-egg ending. Follow the link for a lot of info on the place according to Marvel.com, though that's based on the comics and cartoons rather than the films. It still gives plenty of cannon info on the place.

And whom is this mutant and would you be playing this character in addition to Mystique? This character would shake up the plot. As he is informing the others of his return, he would likely need to start running the school OR assisting Storm in transitioning to Headmistress as she is now. This means you'd likely have to make at least 5 posts a week to keep up with the other writers. In the past you were a bit behind the others with Mystique.
If you could commit to this, you could write exclusively for Charles once our current story line (the Rescue) wraps up. You and I would have to decide when his powers return before the others become aware of him and before you write him into the RPG.
Mystique would be made available for another writer.

There's not much available information for the mutant at Muir Island whose mind Xavier took over, so he'd essentially be OC but with a CC in his head 'cos he has no mind of his own. He'd assist Storm's transition to Headmistress, and of course he's got a lot to recover from, so may not need as frequent posts as your projection, especially while he's at Muir Island trying to recover. I'd like to keep Mystique, too. Charles thinks and talks, Raven actually does stuff. It should be a good balance. I don't mind sharing Xavier and his powers can take as long to return as you like, there's no hurry for them. I applied for him because I think his role may suit my style. I also have more free time now than I've had lately, and nobody's interacting with Mystique right now so am feeling a little left out. Here's a link to the easter-egg ending on youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSkn3KYwmtc - In case anyone missed it, or wants to watch it again.

Hey Fu - then in order to play him, you need to come up with this information on this OC. His name, his ability, how he's going to fit in here. I need for this to be defined. I can't approve a question mark, no matter how awesome he is. If you don't see a need for him to be a big presence in this RPG, then we can hold off on his introduction. I know that 'The Professor is back' will be a big charge through the Mansion. Not being able to keep up with the consequences of that would delay the RPG of any forward movement.
So make your decision on writing up the Professor OC and introducing him or playing Mystique. Let me know with a post here.

I'm listening to your point that there's no hurry to reintroduce Xavier into the cast. I agree he can wait a while. As for the OC's abilities, I already mentioned them - Astral-projection and a little telekinesis. I also stated in his current condition, attempting astral-projection would be a very bad idea as his consciousness might disperse. In other words, he might fade away and 'die' again, leaving the OC's body in its previous comatose state.
As for a name, I'll have to check X3 to see if he's named during the ethics-class video scene, if not I'll think one up for him.
In the meantime I'll continue playing Mystique.

"On the DVD Commentary, it is revealed that the body on Muir Island was a "P. Xavier". One of the writers noted that this is an original twin brother, written for the scene, who was born braindead (due to Professor X's amount of power). This brother can apparently walk." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professor_X_in_other_media#X-Men:_The_Last_StandThat's what I found out regarding the coma patient Xavier hijacked. So basically he just exists as an potential plot device for Professor Xavier to show up again in X4, minus the wheelchair.
