The mentor Silver had transported his captive Rory to the horn during the night. The horn was left as the tributes had left if at the Blood Bath, so there was much gear about. A tribute might resupply here after the drama had passed. The mentors Mel and Jasper had been warned that they had twenty minutes to resolve this - or Mathias the Game Maker would.
Isaac and Psyche were the fastest and therefore the first to come in sight of the horn. The two search for Silver's location in this flat ground. Would they see any other tributes coming? Willow and Pan labored to keep up with the two from district nine. The other tributes of the big alliance trailed after district 7.

Silver couldn't be seen. At least not at first. Silver could be spotted on top of the horn behind something that would cover him from arrow fire (-2 to ranged attacks due to elevation and cover). He had a menacing grin on his face.
Silver rolled 5 dice to "Stealth (Hiding) + Will" 1,4,7,5,10,9 (2 successes) Aurora was bound by the hands to a post. Her face was stained with dried blood, dried tears, and dirt; her lip busted, and a small cut was on her cheek. Her hair had fallen in front of her eyes obscuring her vision slightly. [I'm holding my post for Olivia until Caleb posts in.]

Zale Sewell; District 4's Male Warrior for The Battle: The Fortuneteller's Son "What is dead may never die." "...But rises again. Harder and stronger." His hand came to rest over Riva's for just a moment. Brotherly. Zale was not the sort of boy that others were. He knew his place, even should he make it out of this alive. He knew his place and where that led him. If one is a Priest, one must love the world. ---- The Horn was empty at first glance, and Zale stepped cautiously into the area. He and Riven, it seemed, nearly always took the point, which was all well and good for him. If he'd headed this way, where was he? Where were his tracks? Zale searched for signs of activity that didn't include giant birds. He thought that should he even win this, he'd always hate the concept of flying. Upon seeing Silver, and Aurora, his eyes narrowed. "There is no honor in this."2013-05-30 13:11:06 [HG27] Zale Sewell rolled 7 dice to "Perception" 3,10,4,2,6,10,6,6,10,4 (3 successes)

Riven Tanzanite: District One's Volunteer for the 27th Hunger Games, The Anguished Fencer “Nonviolence is a powerful and just weapon, which cuts without wounding and ennobles the man who wields it. It is a sword that heals.” Riven led the group, who Ember had called her soldiers, to the Horn. She wanted to find Silver, to question him on why he had left them, and without so much as a goodbye. He had a duty to fulfil, and he had abandoned that. She kept Zale close to her, and Diedre and Ashlyn she had told to take the rear. Her most trusted, her most promising, allies were the ones who would keep the alliance safe and strong. Upon stepping closer to the Horn, Riven noted the mentor from District Seven tied to a pole. She frowned, turning to Diadem, Ember and Jasmine, “That's Aurora Noland... What has happened here?” Riven mused, turning to look around. It took her a while, but she eventually found Silver atop the horn. “Is this your doing?” She motioned towards Aurora, calling up to the mentor, “This is why you abandoned my alliance and your tributes? To torture a fellow mentor!?” Riven cried incredulously. She wasn't foolish enough to reckon she could take on the first Victor of the Hunger Games, but she had numbers on her side. Other Victors. If anything, they could force him to free Aurora. [27] Riven Tanzanite rolled 4 dice to "Perception [Wits 2 + Composure 2]" 9,3,9,7 (2 successes)

"Get down." Isaac threw his arm protectively over Psyche and ducked down over her. The two crouched on the ground over looking the horn as Riven shouted at Silver. "Caleb and Olivia, stay down," Psyche turned towards the beach, waiting for the leaders to join them. "- they have Rory tied up down there. The careers are on site.""Times ticking away." Pan worries. "We need to get Rory out of there before Peacekeepers show up or the horn sinks into a lava pit...""They wouldn't kill Rory." Willow whispers. "She hasn't done any thing wrong." The four crouch down on the sand, making themselves small targets as they scope out the old battle field and Rory's situation. - 2 to perception to see Willow, Pan, Psyche and Isaac

"Look at the self entitlement." Silver remarks. "Abandoned 'my' alliance... you might have the ego to win, little one. And this isn't against you, kid. If anything, its going to help you. You certainly didn't get much done at the Bath."
Silver checked out the career alliance before pulling back and glancing towards the edge.
"Look sharp. What do you see out there?"

“Silver, have you lost your mind? This was not the purpose of this. What if the Gamemakers are not pleased with your display, they could bring doom upon our head for this...” Diadem chided. Her hands were on the hilt of her sword but her eyes swept the Horn. Ember drew an arrow and aimed for Silver. “Let. Her. Go.” The she-wolf in Ember was pacing around it's cage, waiting to be let out. She quickly scanned the Horn and smiled. “Let her got or I promise this will end badly for you, Goliath.” Aurora smirked. “I'd say I told you so but...” Diadem Gilded rolled 6 dice to "Perception - 2 (Trained Observer)" 10,4,6,10,4,5,10,2,3 (3 successes) Diadem Gilded rolled 3 dice to "Perception rote" 3,8,3 (1 successes) Ember Clay rolled 8 dice to "Perception - 2 (Trained Observer)" 8,7,3,1,6,8,8,10,10,7 (5 successes) Ember Clay rolled 4 dice to "Perception rote" 10,10,8,3,1,1 (3 successes) Aurora Noland rolled 4 dice to "Perception - 2" 2,4,5,5 (0 successes) Olivia ducked down near the others, her hand seeking out Caleb's. “The Careers don't look to pleased with Silver. Maybe we can end without drawing blood from anyone that doesn't have it coming.”

Caleb moved at a long, loping run after Isaac and Psyche, just half a step behind Liv even. He surveyed the scene, Silver atop the horn, Aurora bound to a post. The moment he sees the other big alliance tromping down to the horn, he mirror's Isaac and Psyche, going into a low crouch and pulling Liv down with them. He surveyed the careers from his vantage point. "Time is of the essence, but we need to be smart about this. They hold all the cards right now, with the exception of our knowledge that the Game Makers will end this if we don't." He glanced at the mentors on their side, then back to his tributes. His tributes. "We could pepper them with shots from here, use the ranged advantage, but it won't help us free Miss Noland down there and get her out. I know I don't think I'm good enough with the bow to hit the rope, and even if I were, there's still the whole troop of careers down there. I want ideas, fast and furious. Time's wasting."He spoke in a low whisper, quickly glancing from assembled party to the action at the horn. If glares could kill, Silver'd be twitching atop the horn instead of gloating about his prize. She settled her gaze on Rory, warmth actually spreading through the ice that normally encases her. This was uncalled for and unnecessary. And Rory was her friend, her blooded, tried, and true battle sister. And one of the few remaining warm spots in her life and, by the One that she barely believed in, she'd protect her. She moved past the other victors, moving toward Rory. "There ain't bein' no reason fer this. Shoot 'im if'n he moves."She didn't wait for confirmation, just continued to walk across those warming sands to her friend to begin untying Rory's hands. It is a sword that heals.” Riven had acted like an animal which had been inoculated for far too long. Nobody in the Arena had seen her true side. Perhaps a glimpse of it when she had almost drawn her sword on Ember Clay. But Silver accusing her of self entitlement, telling her that it would be this which may win her the Games. Riven couldn't contain herself any longer. She drew her sword, and pointed it towards Silver. “You accuse me of self entitlement, and you belittle my actions?” Riven's tone was ice cold, sharp as the sword she held in her dominant hand. “You have chosen your enemies poorly. There is not a single person who agrees with your actions in this Arena.” Riven clenched her jaw. “You will shoot him if he moves, yes?” She turned to look at Ember, and did not wait for a response, “Diedre and Iris, follow Ember's lead. I am going to assist in freeing Aurora.” Riven stepped forward, towards the horn, her eyes scanning the surrounding area. “The enemy of thine enemy is a friend.” She called out. They would hear her, and they would know she was talking to them, as she walked briskly towards the beaten and bloodied Victor of District Seven. "I'm not shooting him. How can you ask me to do that when you know that he's my mentor?" Anger was seen on the face of one of Riven's allies. Until now, Diedre had obeyed all of Riven's orders without question. Yet Diedre made no effort to unsling her bow.

“Of course, Queen Bee... He hurt something that belongs to me... And no one breaks what's mine...” Ember said, her bow still leveled at Silver. “I got this covered, QB and your Frostiness.”Diadem looked at Riven and then Diedre. “Do as you wish...”“Wait...” Aurora said to Jasmine. “Careful with my wrist... I tried to escape for hours... The wrists are rubbed raw at this point.”Olivia focused on Riven, really listening to her words. “Riven doesn't mean us harm. She's just trying to set Aurora free too...” She glanced at Caleb. “Do you trust me?”Olivia kissed him and then quickly stood up and dart out of the playing field. Her hands were empty of weapons. “I've come for Aurora. Nothing more. My only quarrel is with Silver. Because he put his hands on me and he did this. There was no honor it in. He threatened to torture me. What mentor would ever do that to another tribute?”

"When you kill in cold blood, that cold seeps right into your being." Jasmine waited for a moment, looking down at her friend's wrists. "I ain't leavin' you here, Rory."And if Silver returned to the camp after this, he'd not be waking up again. Jasmine'd see to that. This was uncalled for. Zale Sewell; District 4's Male Warrior for The Battle: The Fortuneteller's Son "What is dead may never die." There's a sliding look to his District Partner. To the others. Diedre and her partner could do as they pleased, but Zale knew what was what. Knew what was right and what was wrong, and there was no honor in this. It was not clean. It was not how they desired this to happen. He would rather hunt and fail than for this to be the battlefield. "There is no honor in this." He said it again, looking at Diedre and Timour. "He left you, and for what? For some imagined slight and a self-styled revenge?
"Do as you please. This one will have no part in such actions. Actions such as this are what kept us away from your Warriors for so long. We can not abide it. It is known."He steps forward with Riven, moving to watch her back as she moves to release Aurora. What he felt right now was disappointment mixed equally with trepidation. Perhaps this was what the Capitol wanted to see...., And then he remembered: Those were a Godless sort. He would not pander to those. The Battle was unnecessary, but it could not be escaped, and whatever happened here and whatever it was he did? It would be because that was who he was. They could take everything from him, but dignity and integrity...those were the only things they really and truly possessed. "Our integrity sells for so little, but it's all we have left in this place. It is the very last inch of us...but within that inch we are free." 2013-05-31 03:34:40 [HG27] Zale Sewell rolled 9 dice to "Perception" 1,10,5,2,7,9,6,7,2,8 (3 successes)

"He risked his life coming into this arena with me." Diedre replied. "He's the one that sent me the parachutes and got me gear, so he is my mentor. You can't arbitrarily decide that he isn't because he doesn't obey you. I really don't appreciate that you think you can just order me around without even taking into account that he's of my district. It makes me feel as though I'm just an archer to you, Riven, not a friend. Not an ally, any way. Do you value me over district seven?" Diedre glances to Timour, who is staring at Riven incredulously.
"We didn't agree with this; but we can't fire on our own mentor. Can you imagine what they would do to us in our district?" Timour stares at Zale, frowning.
"He did this without consulting us. Or any one else, for he didn't use that communicator with us present. But you think its okay for us to betray him?"
Silver sighs as he stands up, above the chest that he had errected.
"Fine, let her go. I won't attack you. You're in my alliance so you should know that I would never harm you. She's a district seven mentor. A rebellious little mentor. District seven won how many years in a row and you think that 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend?"
Silver descends the horn, walking towards the career districts. His sword is sheathed.
"Can I ask you guys something? Why are you all bent out of shape about this? The girls alive. All its doing is drawing out her tributes - who you might have noticed, have done a pretty damn good job of not getting injured. Iris took three shurikens from that three. Zale there almost got eaten by a giant bird. If you compare our injuries to their injuries, we come out pretty damn sore losers."
Silver turned as Olivia steps out with her hands up.
"Hello, little six. You see how little she respects you, Riven? Zale? Your honor is so impeccable. Your hands are clean of any blood here. Now I don't know what you guys want to do... but please tell me you have some sort of plan. And Ember, you better lower that bow. I'm not attacking you or yours, so theres no cause to attack me over a seven whose not in our alliance. Whose kids actually have to die for yours to go home. Am I the only one whose remembering that?"
"What about six?" Diedre turned towards Ashlyn. "Our alliance was for the Bath only."
"Diedre, do what you have to do. But he's not my mentor." Ashlyn followed Ember, but she was frowning.
"Is he right, Ember? Do you agree with this?" "That little three put three blades in me while I was shooting from that horn." Iris stated flatly. "Riven, we're not sparing their alliance, right? We free Rory and get it on?"
Rory is freed by both Jasmine and Riven
To Caleb * Big Alliance only Dupioni draws her knives, one in each hand. "Oh... that doesn't sound good." Dupioni whispers.
"Whats your girl doing?" Isaac whispered. "She knows we're faster and she's risking her butt out there."
"Whats the plan if they attack?" Theodore glances towards Caleb.

Riven Tanzanite: District One's Volunteer for the 27th Hunger Games, The Anguished Fencer “Nonviolence is a powerful and just weapon, which cuts without wounding and ennobles the man who wields it. It is a sword that heals.” Riven sucked air through her teeth at Diedre and Timour's words, but once again it was Silver's which caused her anger. She made her way towards Jasmine with Zale at her side, and motioned for Jasmine to move out of the way. “Don't move.” She warned Aurora, before using her sword to carefully wear away the rope which bound her wrists. “I hope you realise the turmoil I have caused in freeing you.” Riven told the girl from District Seven without so much as a smile, before turning around and looking at the alliance she didn't know she could even call hers anymore. “I told you that you did not have to take action if you did not wish it. I stand by what I said: I will not lead anyone where they do not wish to be led.” Riven's tone made it clear that she was lacking patience now, “You are my ally and as close to a friend as I am willing to have in this place. It disapooints me that you question that.”She turned to see Olivia making her way towards the Horn, unarmed with her hands up. Riven listened to what she had to say, and turned to Silver. Under different circumstances, she would have accused Olivia of lying, of trying to turn the Careers against each other. But she had seen what Silver had done to Aurora. “You dare speak of honour when you haven't an ounce of it in your being?” Riven spat, “I am so bent out of shape about your actions because not only did you bring harm on another Victor – whom regardless of District or how they won – should be respected by all as a brave and noble warrior, but also these are not your Games. You made the brash decision to abduct Aurora,” Riven pronounced the name strongly, since Silver had apparently forgotten it, “and torture her alone. Had this been your Games, I could merely watch in disgust. Yet you have done this in our Games, and left the duty you were required to fulfil in order to do so.” Riven took a breath, her attention turning to the entirety of the Career alliance. “Zale and I cannot be the only two who feel that this,” She motioned her hand to Rory, “Is a disgusting and selfish act. You look at me as though I am being unreasonable, when all that this man has done is cause confusion and now anger in the alliance.” Riven looked from Diedre to Ashlyn to Iris. “You are free to do as you wish. I will bring them no harm until our alleged ally has been escorted back to the Capitol to pay for his crimes. I will not stand by a man who reasons for his actions by resorting to District numbers and Games victories. Victor, mentor, or tribute, a person who feel that this is even remotely reasonable is not one I wish to depend on in any way.”

Zale Sewell; District 4's Male Warrior for The Battle: The Fortuneteller's Son "What is dead may never die." "It is not disrespect. It is trust--the highest complement and the highest respect one can ever hope to achieve. Only a fool would mistake the latter for the former."Zale cared little for any of this. It was wrong, on so many levels. So very, very wrong. "We could not plan when we knew nothing of the battlefield. You have forced our hand, but it is not you who will decide what battle I fight. "And where I am from, 'rebellious' is not a quality of which to be ashamed." There's a look to Diedre. To Timour. "I would not ask you to do anything. You must fight your own battle on your own time and in your own way. Do not attack him, if you have such loyalty to him. But one who condones such actions as acceptable is not one who I will bed down near.
"I will have no part of it. I choose my Battle, and it is not here."

"Then maybe you should say more to me than 'Diedre, do this'." Diedre recommended.
"Is that so, Zale?" Silver gives Zale a sideways glance. "That could be the problem, then and there. They reaped and allowed volunteers from poor stock."
Timour shook his head, unhappily. "I don't like it. This wasn't at all like we imagined it."
Silver glanced towards Riven and shook his head.
"Good luck to you then, Riven of district... no. I'll address you by that when you lead someone to an action worthy of a career pack. Diedre, Timour."
Now Silver walked towards his tributes. Diedre crosses her arms, displeasure on her face. Timour stands protectively over her as the big man approaches her. Either Silver chooses to ignore their defensive stances and surly expressions or he doesn't care.
"Those two - Riven and Zale - haven't done a thing to make selling you very easy, kids. The career pack whose lost one - and hasn't reaped any vengeance for it. That's what Mel and the others are saying about you. Now you can follow Riven's ego and Zale's honor all you like, but there's still 22 people between you and coming home. Is she getting you any closer?"
Silver asked nastily. Diedre regarded him with her arms crossed and her expression doubtful and upset.
"Goodbye, Silver."
Timour manages. It takes courage to tell the Big Man, the victor, what he doesn't want to hear. But it would seem his tributes didn't want to speak with him any more.
"Riven says we don't attack them." Diedre shrugs at Silver. "I'm not breaking up this alliance. I told her my problems with being ordered around and she listened-"
"You're not even her second. She's chosen a boy who ' 'rebellious' is not a quality of which to be ashamed.' I can't wait to watch that unfold."
Silver turned and was the first to see something lifting out of the salt water lake. White plastic over garments - and plastic cases in their hands. As they surfaced, they expertly cracked out an electric cattle prod apiece.
"Well, frak." Silver sighed. "Looks like the rides over for me, kids. Take care."
Six Peacekeepers quickly blossom into sixteen that walk towards Silver boldly and gesture back towards the lake. "There's access through one of the tubes. Now get moving. Someone needs to have words with you." Someone prods Silver's back with a prod. "Now get moving."
Someone likely sees Silver's fingers twitch. He could likely make a fool of that peacekeeper, but what was the point? Silver forced his fingers to relax and walked away from the horn, escorted by six peace keepers. The remaining ten look over at the others present.
"Diadem Gilded, Rory Noland, Jasmine Cloverfield, Ember- and where is Jasper? All of you are coming back home. Game Maker has some words for you. The tributes-" The head peacekeeper fixed every one with a stern look.
"-are to stay here."

Her gaze followed the discussion, dispassionate and seeming to lack caring for it. When the peacekeepers arrived... she turned her cold gaze on them as well, before helping Rory down into the tunnel. Caleb stood beside Liv, though he spoke quietly over his shoulder to answer the question posed of him. "We're getting Miss Noland back... and if they attack, then respond with like force."The words twisted in his gut, and he hated himself a little bit for saying them, but... they had to be said and once out in the open, they couldn't be unsaid. In this instance, there couldn't be room for hesitation, as he had hesitated the night before. Though the thought of inflicting violence on others still twisted his guts into a knot. He wasn't cut out of this, at least not yet, and didn't like the feelings he was getting. A moment later, the horn was swarming with Peacekeepers. And in that moment, Caleb made another judgment call: "Miss Noland's safe... or safeish, we should go."Hit points: 24/24 Defense: 5 + 3 armor (3 chest) Willpower: 5/5 Caleb’s Mantra of the Dead: Lazuli Somnus

Ember didn't lower her bow until the Peacekeepers showed up. She relaxed with a sneer. “Ride's not over, Silly.” She told him with a sneer. “Not for you. Just because you're going back to the Capitol doesn't make you safe. I don't give a dust devil's @$$ about the politics or alliances. You went after after a friend, you hurt one of my friends. And no one f***s with what's mine, Silly. No one.” She looked at Ashlyn and Brad. “Do what you want, you two. It's your games. And Silly is right about there being 22 people blocking your way back home... But don't let anyone lie to you, there is a right and wrong way to play these games. The worst thing that can happen to a person here is coming home branded a monster or a traitor.” Diadem looked at Ember and nodded, before her gaze fixed to Riven's. “Silver may not honor you as a career tribute. But I will always honor what you've done here. Honor is so easily forgotten in a place like this.”Aurora tried not to lean on Jasmine visibly for support. She looked at Silver and then at the Zale, Riven, Caleb, and Olivia. “Whatever happens here, you will be remembered for your actions. Thank you, Riven. And I do know. But if you value your honor as much as I do, what they think of you will matter very little... Olivia and Caleb, I thought I told you two not to come...” she smiled. “But I'm glad you did.”Ember, Diadem, and Aurora disappeared from sight and that when the youngest of these mentors; the one who had been supposed by Jasmine, sagged in the her friend's arms, sobbing silently as she shook. “Zale, Riven... if you ever tire of being with people that question your honor, there's always room with our alliance...” Olivia said, she took hold of Caleb's hand. “Okay. Let's get out of here.”

The ground under your feet rumbles. You find yourself shaken violently as a crack appears in the floor before the horn. All of the tributes begin to slide downwards, falling head over heels. A sand shower follows after you, showering onto your heads and bodies after you land. You see that the ground that you fell from stops six feet above your head. Sand trickles down over the edge, falling onto you. The ground is loose, hot sand. A stone door seven feet tall and four feet wide opens two feet in front of you. All of the tributes that attended the horn are now gathered in a ten by two foot stip of solid ground. Orange candle light flickers within the cavern. Please follow to the new thread
