Not sure how to do something and want a quick answer? Well, give yourself a pat on the back, because you found the right thread to be in. Here you will find a list of frequently asked questions (also known as FAQs) that may give you the solution to your problems. Please be sure that your question is not here before contacting a member of staff.
1) How do I get a picture under my name?
The small picture below you name is called an avatar (aka: an icon). To place an avatar under your name follow the directions below:
Profile >> Modify Profile >> Copy and Paste your avatar to Avatar URL
You must note, however that an avatar may not exceed 100 by 100 pixels.
If you do not have an avatar, RPC also provides a variety of pre-made and ready to use avatars. To chose one of these you will see an Avatar drop down menu in your profile. Preview them by selecting from the drop down menu until you find something you like.
2) How do I put a banner in my signature?
To put a banner in your signature you must surround the link to the banner with an image code. Follow the code below to add a banner in your signature.

3) What are the titles under my name? Can I change it?
The title beneath your name changes depending on the number of posts you have made on the forum. As your titles change, you also receive more stars. You receive another star every new rank you go up. You may not change them yourself unless you are an active member on RPC, as the titles coincide with your post count.
4) Can I change my user name?
Yes, you can. Once every 30 days you can change your user name in your Profile.
5) Can I be a Staff Member?
Staff Members are members that have been selected to oversee the forum. They keep it clean, organized and are fair to all other members. Becoming one is highly unlikely, as new Staff Members are only recruited if there is a need for them to be. Additionally, Staff Members are selected based on their contribution and dedication to the forum and the level of respect they show towards their fellow members. Asking to become one is usually the quickest path towards being told no.
6) What is RPC's warning system?
Here at Roleplay Central we have a "three strikes and then you're out" policy. Providing the rule in question does not carry the severe punishment of a permanent ban with its breakage, you will receive one strike for each infraction. For more details, please refer to the Rules thread.
7) Can we post links to other Forums?
Members are allowed to link to other websites or forums in their signatures.
8) What is reputation and how does it work?
Simply, the more you post, the higher your reputation will rise.
9) What's with all the Buffy references around the forum?
Roleplay Central originally formed when a number of us broke away from a Buffy & Angel forum that banned us for daring to question the excessively restrictive system being put in place. We did focus mainly on Buffyverse role-plays to start with, but we've since branched out into doing a bit of everything over the course of the last 7 years.
10) Why has my thread been deleted/moved?
We work very closely with the sections at RPC to keep it tidy and easy to navigate. If you've started a thread and it has been deleted/moved it could be for one of three reasons.
- A thread like yours already existed and it was deleted.
- There was a more appropriate location for your thread and it has been moved there.
- Your thread has been inactive for over 30 days and has therefore has been moved to the archives. Unless you want it specifically restored, just start up a new one.
More than likely if your thread needed to be handled by one of the members of the staff, you will receive a PM notification.
11) What is this karma count on my profile for?
Basically, karma is a general indication of how much other people like you or know you on this forum. To the left of any post made on the forum there is a little box displaying your user name, member group, avatar, gender, location, post count and karma. Underneath that on everyone else's box but yours, there are two options: Exalt and Smite. Exalting someone raises their karma by one, while Smiting does the opposite. You can Exalt or Smite one member every hour. If you like a post a user has made, it is polite to Exalt them for it.
I hope you found an answer here to your question. If not, please PM myself or another member of staff and we will endeavor to respond to you and then add your question to the above list.
