The #24th Hunger Games has come to a close with Conrad as the victor. I hope that you enjoyed writing or reading with us. Did we entertain you? Was there a shocking moment you can't believe? Did you always have money on Conrad or were you backing another? Share your thoughts and feedback about the #24th Hunger Games. I also open my final tribute notes to you.
*Singer was always about sticking with Bobbeh. When the raft collapsed he didn't emerge, she figured her investment in the alliance was done with. In the jungle, her idea was to separate Conrad and Cypress. Once Conrad was distracted with fighting, she intended to finish off Cypress and hope someone else finished Conrad off.
*Chisel was enraged after Vibrance's death and ran towards the screams. He found Buckley at work on Chaff and leant a hand. He can't really remember doing it. But watching that baffoon gnaw at Conrad got to him. Buckley wasn't as worthy as Vibrance. That was why he quit the fight once he realized Singer wanted to kill Cypress. He couldn't be the one to kill Cypress. But he didn't want to die. So he stared at Conrad racing off to the jungle and hated himself for it, just a bit.

Two things: One, as a non-fan of the books this was amazing. Truly. Two, no I wasn't banking on Connie to take the whole thing. Because I'm a romantic at heart (hard to believe I know) and Cypress was so... She had this subtle strength to her. I liked that. And as sad as her death scene was, Conrad's reaction to her death and the fact that he wouldn't leave her body was heartbreaking. Kudos everyone. I can't wait to play the next one.

The events of Island #1 were some of the hardest and emotional scenes I've ever had to write. I never intended for Conrad to win, wanting to see what a Hunger Games contestant who was in it purely for their partner would play out as.
From the start, I intended a protector-type character, someone loyal who would have stuck by his word no matter what. I was surprised when the Alliance lasted so long, and in credit to Anne's writing I didn't see Singer's betrayal coming until it was too late.
Conrad did manage to achieve one other thing in the games, and that was keeping Cypress' innocence intact, sparing her having to kill anyone. Even if he couldn't save her life, at least she died as herself.
