Rory was standing behind one of the tables in the closed room. There were no cameras here so she could relax a bit. However she was still Aurora Nolan in here, Victor of 25th Hunger Games, De-Facto Leader of the Big Alliance... or behind closed doors... the Rebel Alliance. She had a neutral expression, though she was pleased to see that Felix and Sassinak were thinking ahead, despite her general uneasiness. Both due to the being involved in a private meeting but also because with 5 districts it was bound to attached attention. She wanted 11 here but Galen and Bogart had plans of their own. Rory would explain to Jasmine and Sorrel later about her plans and why 11 wasn't called upon.
"Felix, Sassinak, I trust your jugdement in this. As far as 11 goes perhaps I'll be able to send you a message when the game starts about 11 whereabouts. If Bogart breaks his alliance with the careers he'd be useful. And Galen is an unknown it might be good to get her on your side once the game starts..." A mentor's work was never done.
--------
Ember hit the doors first. Her voice boomed over the white noise of the room.
"Oh, heck... Was wonderin' when you guys would come runnin'. Hope you don't mind, I invited 9. We come as a matching set... Also, if district 2 asks... this meeting happened but we told you to go screw yourselves."
She chuckled when the tiny mentor from district 7 sighed, loudly. "Oh, don't be like that, little one. We haven't gotten to the best part..."

Felix knew that Rory didn’t feel comfortable in the private meetings, and for that reason he felt extremely proud of her. He watched her briefly, feeling the mountain of respect that he already felt double in size. With a nod towards her, to show that he understood her discomfort, Felix looked at Sassinak and smiled widely. It was time to show the other alliance that they mean business.
When Rory spoke up about district eleven, Felix nodded and chuckled. “Galen seems to be a little cold and abrasive, but once we’re in the Arena, and she’s not being hostile, we’ll take her under our wing if she allows us. Bogart, yeah, I don’t see him lasting long with the Careers but I’ve not tossed the idea of uniting with eleven.” He shrugged and looked at the door as it opened, “I’m keeping it in my mind.”
As Ember entered the room, Felix’s mouth curved into the smile that always followed her wise cracks. “Oh trust me, Brass isn’t getting anything more than a no from us.” He said confidently. “We, too, come as a package. Four, Five and Seven.”

A few minutes later Lily joined the gathering collection of tributes in the meeting room.
"Hope I'm one of the early arrivals..." she muttered under her breath, not exactly impressed with the number of people present so far. Shrugging off her hopefully false worries, Lily smiled at the few that had chosen to gather early.
"Hello."
The greeting was small, simple and Lily wasn't here to make speeches. No, the more she heard in this meeting, the better to make up lost time with for all the people she had yet to talk to so far.

"Galen didn't seem to want anything to do with us." Sassinak voiced her opinion. "If she changes her mind at the 'Bath, that would be great. Otherwise, I don't think we should count on her. We already lost Bogart to Brass, right?" The brunette frowned. "We could use some brawn on our side."
"We can keep him at a distance, if we're smart."[/b] Coral spoke. "And I hoped that i picked the smart alliance."[/b]
Coral glanced around the room, her gaze lingering on Lily, Boomer and Sassinak.
"This is the final alliance? What can everybody do?"[/b] There's a pragmatic tone to Coral's voice.

"Hello, Lily." Felix greets the district five tribute with a sincere smile.
Felix smiles as more and more people join the room, and he looks at his alliance briefly for a moment. “We have our alliance, and they have theirs.” He tells Coral, before looking to Sassinak.
“Brass has snaked in on a lot of tributes.” He states, his tone clearly annoyed. He shakes it off and turns to Ember and Jan, “Which brings me to the point of this meeting; where do you stand with Brass? Because I have a proposition for you.”

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer[/u]
"What can I do? I can smile real pretty for the camera, talk circles around anyone else, and make them love me." He grinned, waving a little. "Oh...and I stab things. I'm very, very good at stabbing things."
There's a grin at Ember, and a teasing half-punch to Jaspar's arm. "Where do we stand with Brass? I think he thinks he's outsmarting us. I think he thinks we're going to hang around and let him kill us. I think he thinks we're dumb as rocks because we happen to come from poorer districts.
"And I think he underestimates anyone who hasn't been practicing crushing people's skulls from birth.
There's a sidelong look to Ember. "Anything to add, Bestie?"

Ember returned Jan's grin in kind and like always there was that devilish twinkle was in her eyes. Ever since the training center she was seeing Jan in a whole different light. At first she thought he was like her sister. But no... More and more Jan reminded her of herself... Another life... different parents. But he was as dead inside as she was.
"I have a few things, yeah Prince Charmin'." Ember said with a wink. She looked at Felix and Sassinak. Her eyes finding Felix', this time there was no playful light in her eyes. "Felix, Brass has your scent. You approaching me in the Training Center would have tipped him off. I needed you to walked away from me unsettled. Sorry if it cut too deep."
She found Coral and answered her question, pointing to herself as she spoke. "Tracker, Trapper, Killer... But I'm not strong. In fact we've got no brawn here. But as I'm sure you all know..." Ember pointed at Rory, Rowan, and Tank. "All they had was him.
"We've got a non-aggression pact with the careers for the first 24-Hours. And we're taking the Horn with them.
"So if we're all here to form an alliance... It's gonna take some special planning, a prayer, and a hellvua lot of luck in order for this to work.
"At the Bath you grab what you can and you run. You run as fast as you can, you find someone safe and you hold up there. If we survive the non-aggression pact with the careers we'll find you during the first night before the anthem plays. If you see anyone of our faces you know the our deal with the careers went south."

Felix hadn’t forgotten Ember’s words in the Training Center. They had hit him hard, and he couldn’t say that she hadn’t scared him. A lot. He nodded when she explained herself, and opened his mouth to respond when she added an apology to the end. His mouth closed, turned up slightly and a hint of something could be seen in his eyes for a brief moment. Respect. Ember was like him, another human being, capable of remorse and kindness. That glance he gave her in those few seconds would explain his feelings a lot better than he could ever even try to with words. “I hope it worked.” He says.
Visibly shrinking when Jan and Ember explain the non-aggression pact they had between the Careers and themselves, Felix looks at Sassinak and, without thinking, takes a hold of her hand. He felt like he was about two inches tall, but feeling her next to him, and that ounce of contact brought him back. He listened to Ember’s advice, and glanced at Lily and Boomer.
“Boomer, you got your wish.” Felix said with a smile, looking at the District Five tribute sincerely before turning back to Ember, “If Brass and his minions betray you, we’ve got your back. You have my word. I wanted to talk to you about taking the Careers out at the Bloodbath. Get the big threats out of the way, and come to a similar non-aggression agreement with you. That’s not happening, and I understand. Most likely for the best.” Felix looked at Coral.
“I’m hoping you agree.” He says. She’s the one he was most worried about in their alliance. She could decide that this wasn’t for her and run to Brass. So could Lily and Boomer, but he trusted them. And he trusted the four tributes on the other alliance too. “You chose the smart alliance. We’ll take what we can and leave.” His eyes move back to Jan and Ember.
“Thank you. Really.” He says.

Jan Colton[/u]
"I'd advise you to pull what my brother did last year. Snag a bag, a weapon, and a buddy to watch your back, and run for cover. There'll be plenty of people with big eyes and small minds for us to take out. We can just say we 'didn't get to you'."
It seemed simple enough to Jan, who had even advised Jace last year to do just that.
'Grab a bag and run. Don't look back.'
Jan swallowed, and then went back to his explanation.
"I think me and Ember are of the same mind. We're in this for safety during the Bloodbath. Then we're going to take our cut and get the heck out of there. I'm not waiting until the full 24 hours are up to get away from the Brass and his lot. That's just tempting fate right there.
"If you want an alliance after that? Ember's got the right of it. Go hole up. We'll find you before the Anthem if we aren't already dead. It's going to take a lot of luck for us all the pull this off, but I think we can do it. We just have to play it smart." There's a wince. Brass and Victoria were nothing to sneeze at, and Jan had the feeling that at least two or three people in this room were going to die in the Bloodbath, if only because they happened to be somewhere near Districts 1 or 2 at the start.
"Very smart."

"So basically grab a couple of bags, run and pray we meet up later?" Lily restated. This was the grand plan she found herself listening to? Almost made her reconsider the offer Brass had made. Almost.
"Well what it lacks in originality it makes up for in simplicity I suppose. And it certainly beats dying at the hands of Brass. Got my vote."

Felix’s attention turned to Jan as he spoke. To say that Felix looked saddened that his hopes of crushing Brass would be an understatement. His hand still held on to Sassinak’s, but he couldn’t quite bring himself to stop feeling crushed. Brass had gotten to the tributes before he had. Perhaps the boy had predicted Felix’s movements, and that annoyed him. I can’t be that see-through, can I?.
He listened to Jan’s input, nodding. “Whatever keeps us alive.” Felix said, looking around the room at his alliance. He already felt overwhelmingly protective of them all. Specifically the girl at his side, who he was ready to risk everything for. “It sounds like a plan. Like you said, we’ll need luck. But I think we can make it work.”
As Lily spoke up, Felix looked at her. He noticed how she felt just as disappointed as he did. “We’ll have the chance to crush Brass. It’ll just come later than we all anticipated.” Felix gave her a look, as if to show her that he understood what she was feeling, before looking back at Jan and Ember’s alliance.
“If we don’t see you before then, I’ll be looking into the sky when the Anthem plays. I hope I don’t see any of your faces.” He said genuinely, before looking at Sassinak, and then at Coral and finally Boomer.
“I hope you all agree. This way, we have more chance of surviving the Bloodbath. All of us.” He looked at Rory eventually. He didn’t know what he was doing anymore, he knew he’d been in over his head trying to collect these followers. He didn’t want to lead them to their deaths. So maybe this plan would be more beneficial. “If you’re anywhere near a Career on your pedestal. Get away from them.” He spoke directly to his own alliance.
