To those who held the Cornucopia after the Blood Bath, the wealth was theirs. They had a respite from battle to gather gear and their forces. Where would they go? Would they stay? The heat remained an oppressive blanket, causing sweat to drip and thirst to become a problem.

Riven Tanzanite: District One's Volunteer for the 27th Hunger Games, The Anguished Fencer "Nonviolence is a powerful and just weapon, which cuts without wounding and ennobles the man who wields it. It is a sword that heals." Riven stared blankly at Laz's body, ignoring Olivia's words. Riven just stared and composed herself. "Well, at least now I don't have to worry about doing it myself." She stated half-heartedly before looking at her mentor and nodding. "Very well." She turned and ran backwards, motioning for Ashlyn, Brad and Timour to come with her. --------------------------------------------- On the way back to the Horn, Riven stooped to pick up a gauntlet [+2] from the ground, putting it on as she jogged. Riven returned to the Horn, "Diedre, Iris, you can come down. They are gone and we will be leaving shortly." She didn't wait for a response, and entered the mouth of the Horn. She nodded to each of the assembled in turn before looking around and taking a hold of chest armor [+2] and donning it immediately. She felt the weight on her torso and felt slightly comforted. She was not so nude anymore. She grabbed a duffel bag and put her previously acquired two packets of Celox in there, before turning to pick one one gallon container of water and pack 13 of food. She placed both of these items in the duffel bag. She looked around, wondering what else she should take. She did not speak to anyone.

Diedre descends the horn, helping Iris down. Iris had taken three shurikens - one to the collarbone, her left shoulder and her lower left leg. The wounds had been bandaged, but she moves gingerly. She drops the three shurikens on the weapon pile. Timour inspects the lugguge first, taking one of the rolling chests. "They come with two keys," he notes, placing one around his neck. He offers the second key to his partner, Diedre. Timour removes his brass knuckles and dons the +2 helm. He places the brass knuckles, the climbing pack [pack 5], the water gear from pack 8, pack 10 [with the stove and some food] and pack one into the rolling chest. Diedre divided the fifty arrows into two 25 packs, offering one to Iris. She placed the quiver with 33 arrows onto her back where she placed a [+2 bow]. She discarded her [+1 bow] onto the weapon pile. She placed a [+2] sword into the chest that Timour was filling. Diedre donned [+2] leg bracers, [+2] chest armor and [+2] arm bracers. Ashlyn approached the horn beside Riven, soundlessly gathering gear. The first three items are - Sap Gloves (+3 to brawl)
- Knife +2
Bevor (+2 neck) Ashlyn places the sap gloves and knives (two [+2] ) on her belt. She discards the [+1 ] knife onto the weapon pile. The girl from twelve dons her bevor, appreciating the protection to her neck. The girl picks up Pack 17 that contains - 3 lb sleeping bag to 30 degrees with compression bag
- tarp
- 50 feet cordage
- two person tent
- (2) ground sleeping pads
- insect repellent
- sunscreen
- (4) 4 hour glow sticks
- cigarette lighter
Ashyn picks up a duffel bag and stores - Bag 3
- Bag 5
- Bag 17
- gallon of water
within. Brad dons the [+2] Helm he had picked up from outside of the horn. He sheathes his [+2 sword] on his belt and keeps his [+1 sword on the offhand side of his belt. He picks up a back pack and places - Pack 2
- Pack 5 Climbing:
- Pack 7
- a gallon of water
within the back pack. He glances over to Riven with a frown, seeming concerned. Iris and Sam remain together as they choose thier items. Sam picks up a backpack and the two fill the pack together with - Pack 1
- Pack 2
- Pack 5 Climbing
- Pack 7
- (2) gallons of water
- Pack 14
- Med Kit 1
- Med Kit 2
Sam helps Iris don [+2] chest armor and she helps him done the same [+2] chest armor. If these items are contested, post here to argue about it with the character ic

The Bloodbath was over. 10 bodies laid at the foot of the Horn. Diadem’s sword was red and slick with blood that had once belonged to some of these bodies. But now belonged to no one.
Blood and sweat rolled down her cheeks. She wiped it away with the back of her hand.
“Here…” a friendly voice said, before Diadem was offered a scarf.
She took it. “Thank you, Twelve.”
The female tribute from district twelve frowned. “Cinder. My name is Cinder Clay.”
Diadem looked at her confused, and then she nodded. “Cinder, I am Diadem Glided.” She offered her weapon hand to Diadem and Diadem took it. “It’s good to finally meet you, Diadem.”
“Yes, of course. It’s good to be acquainted with you as well, Cinder,” Diadem replied. She surveyed the killing field. 10 bodies but only nine canons. Strange.
“10 bodies and only 9 canons. One of them is playing dead,” Cinder spoke as if she had been reading Diadem’s mind.
“It’s that one... The tribute from district 4… She’s still breathing…” Diadem pointed to the girl lying next to her own fallen district partner. Ace… They had grown up together in the Academy. He hadn’t even made it out of the Bloodbath. Diadem sighed.
“The One is cruel…” Cinder whispered as they walked over to the female tribute playing dead. “…sometimes he makes us live.”
Diadem knelt by the body of her fallen district partner and the girl that she was about to kill. Her second kill of the Games. She looked up at Cinder, marveling at her poise.
“Your knife, please… May I use it?” Diadem asked Cinder.
“Only if you swear that you’ll end it quietly.”
Diadem didn’t know why it matter. The district 4 female was so near death. In a few moments without healing and she’d expire. So why did it matter? Especially to someone that had allied against her. She didn’t even mourn the loss of her own district partner why should she concern herself with how this one is to die?
But Diadem found herself nodding anyway. “Very well.” She put Laz’ body near the mouth of the Horn. Diadem made sure his eyes were closed. If she had jewels she have put them over his eyes, as was the custom in their district. Lazulis Somnus, District One Tribute. May the One welcome you into His house with open arms. “Good, Riven. That bag I got for you,” Diadem said, exchanging her sword for a better one, before she returned Laz's body. “I would still like to know who killed my tribute,” she said in a whisper to no one in particular.

Zale Sewell; District Four's Male Warrior for the Battle:"The Fortuneteller's Son" "What is dead may never die." Zale had added a gallon of water and (Pack 4) to his duffle bag when the body was put up onto the Horn. The dropping of his own bag was thoughtless, and he helped his mentor and Diadem pull the District One boy up. The cannon had gone off, and he'd looked up, but he hadn't seen who it was. Hoped that it had been someone down the beach, too busy collecting supplies. Now, the District One Boy--Lazuli--was laying there dead, a gash in the back of his head that Zale checked, his fingers coming away dark red. He looked up at Diadem, and swallowed. Zale was a Career Tribute, but he was a person of faith, and he would mourn every one of them. Even if he were the one to take their lives. It was just who he was. "...I'm sorry. I have no Coins." It was the custom in District Four. Coins on their eyes so they could pay the ferryman. Food for the journey.... "He needs food. For his journey." There's a look around for his District Partner. "Riva? I thought I saw a pack with apples and oranges. We can send it with him...." District Four honored their dead, and Zale would be no different. He took the boy's hand, one hand on his forehead, and took a deep breath. "Lo there do I see my father. Lo there do I see my mother and my sisters, and my brothers. Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning. Lo they do call to me they bid me take my place among them in the Halls of The Brave, where we all shall live forever."
"What is dead may never die. But rises again, harder and stronger."Zale fixed the boy's hands on his chest. "Good-bye, Lazuli Somnus."And then it was back to gathering things. Pack 17 and Pack 16. Pack 10 and Pack 13. Another Spear [+2]. A Bevor [+2] and a Chest Plate [+2]. Pack 5 and Pack 7 in a backpack. On a whim. He may need it. "We take as much as we can, yes? Leave the luxury items. No need for them and no room. Riva: Med Kits, yes? Please grab some?"

She took a bevor [+2] and put that on, and she figured that would be enough armour for now. Before she continued, she retrieved the gallon of water she had collected and took a few gulps of it so she didn’t feel so dehydrated, before she put it back in the duffel bag. She picked up Pack 17, putting that in the duffel bag, and then puts down the [+1] katana in favour of a better katana [+2]. Both of her swords were sheathed and she looked at Zale. “Thank you… For, what you did for Lazuli Somnus. I will not forget it.” She said sincerely, offering her hand.

The sky suddenly became of interest as a white parachute descended towards the horn. The parachute was marked with Riven and Lazuli's district emblem. When Riven looked inside, she recognized finely crafted gems in Lazuli's name sake. Someone was ensuring that Lazuli could be sent home in the style affected by the people of their district.
Hyperion and Diadem's wrists beeped with a brief message.
Hyperion: No news on who killed Lazuli. Cameras blanked it out. Diadem: There is no solid evidence on who killed Lazuli. The cameras only show Brass at the platform and swimming, Eris in her net and Dupioni cutting her free.

The volunteer from District One assumed that it had been Karrigan who had arranged for these to be sent. She seemed like the type to do such a thing. Riven lifted the bag and took it to Zale. “Perhaps in your home District, you use coins. We use gems.” Riven said, handing him the bag, “Would you do the honours… I…” She looked down at the body and sighed, “I’m not sure I can do him justice.” She admitted solemnly.

Riva sorted through the food provisions as Zale made his request. While doing so, she took a medical kit #2 and a medical kit #3 and placed them in her backpack. She did find the bag that he had requested and brought it near Lazuli's body. She made the preparations to send him off properly, paying her alliance mate a great deal of respect. As she said her own prayer in district four style, the other alliance mates came to stand behind her.
Sam and Iris of district eleven knelt briefly beside the body, mouthing some thing silently. A prayer? A good bye? Brad and Ashlyn stood silently, observing the funeral rites. Diedre and Timour paused by Riven, concern upon their faces.
"Are you all right, Riven?" Diedre inquired quietly. "Would you like to talk?"

Zale Sewell; District Four's Male Warrior for the Battle:"The Fortuneteller's Son" "What is dead may never die." Zale swallowed, taking the offered hand. "...It is proper to do such. It is known." He hoped that his own alliance would do the same for him. One must set an example. Show oneself to be civilized and at the same time better than those who'd send children to fight to the death for some sort of sick pleasure. There was no pleasure in this. Only decency. The jewels--lazuli, he could only assume--were taken from Riven and placed on the boy's eyes, the food arranged around him so that he wouldn't go hungry on his journey. "The One Above All, I stand here as your priest knowing that life must be winnowed to thrive.
This is a holy act I perform: to open a gateway for a willing one to come to you.
This is an act of healing, a release from suffering, an end to fear.
Here is one whose arms are open to embrace you." Zale stood again, nodding to the others. He looked over the rest of teh bounty from The Horn. "This one would guess that we can not take all of it."

"Look." Diedre says quietly, but with tension in her voice as she points towards the sky. Following her finger, you see four giant shadows in the sky above the horn. They have wings that suggest that they are birds; but the size of the wingspan means that they must be massive. They are circling the outer edge of the battle field, near where the blood spilled from the arrows has collected. You imagine they may see you soon.

It is a sword that heals." Riven watched as her alliance paid their respects to her fallen district partner, their fallen ally. She nodded to Iris and Sam, “Thank you.” She said gratefully when they had finished their silent prayer. She also gave a thankful nod to Ashlyn and Brad, assuming that their silence was their way of paying respect. Finally, she smiled at Diedre and took the other girl’s hand, “I will be alright, thank you.” Riven released the girl’s hand and allowed Zale to say his prayer and send Lazuli to the One. She stepped forward and knelt down beside the fallen tribute. Riven bent down, her mouth by his now deaf ears, and whispered almost silently (perception to hear?), “I will personally avenge your death.” Then the young woman moved backwards and stood, and bowed to her fallen ally. Riven took the final medkit 2 from the wealth, followed by brass knuckles [+2]. She then looked inside of Pack 19 before taking out the four radios. She passed one to Zale, one to Diedre, and one to Ashlyn. She kept the fourth. “In case of separation.” She nodded to each of the tributes in turn. Then she passed the emergency whistles around; one to Sam, another to Iris, the third to Timour and kept the final one. She left the signal mirrors in the pack, and placed it in the duffel bag. Finally, Riven collected a backpack, in which she placed a second gallon of water, Pack 1 and Pack 4 before slinging over her back. She was ready to leave. -------------------------------- “Keen eyes, Diedre.” Riven said proudly, before looking at her alliance, “It is now that we depart. I say we head in the opposite direction to our foes for the time being. It will give us time to plan our eventual attack. They will not have the food and water that we have collected from the Horn, and will need to leave whatever sanctuary they have found. We can begin to pick them off.”She nodded to Zale and Diedre, “The two of you will be with me, your district partners close behind accompanied by Ashlyn and Brad. Iris, Sam, I want you to cover the rear.” She looked at the mentors: Diadem, Silver and Hyperion, “You may join whichever section you desire.”

Diadem had been silent. When her own district mate fell she had Cinder Clay to say a few words for the dead. But she had done it for everyone on the field, even the District 4 female whose throat Diadem slit as she feigned death. It appeared that Riven had found something similar in Zale Sewell. Once the prayers were over and Laz's body could be collected, Diadem joined her tribute near the body. She put a hand on Riven's shoulder and whispered something a wise person had once told her. “In the Arena, you must understand one simple truth. The One is cruel sometimes he makes us live...” Once the birds started to circle, Diadem nodded to Riven. “I will accompany you Riven.” Diadem said. “Before we go, what would you like us to hold, or take from the wealth?”

We won’t put our food in there yet, in case we must discard it in favour of fighting.” She then motioned towards the gallons of milk, the Pack 7’s, and water reclamation kits. “A gallon of milk, a pair of those packs and a water reclamation kit or two would also be useful. I don’t want to bare heavy loads on you. Take what you believe would be most beneficial.”She glanced as saw something lying just outside the mouth of the Horn, a kit for navigating the water. Diedre and Timour each grabbed an additional piece of armor, tucking it into thier backpack. Diedre and Timour picked up an additional shelter pack and fell in as Riven directed.
Iris and Sam each picked up Pack 7 and secured it in thier pack. Iris picked up a quiver of 50 arrows and slung that across her back, then tucked a [+2] knife on her belt. Iris donned a [+2] helm on her head and a bevor around her neck. She placed the whistle Riven gave her around her neck.
Sam donned a [+2] helm, [+2] leg bracers and plucked up a Water reclamation kit, Pack 12 and Pack 14, tucking them into his backpack. Sam donned the backpack and fell in place with Iris as Riven directed.
Ashlyn and Brad each donned some armor: a chest protection and helm apiece. Ashlyn picked up two gallons of milk and placed them into the cooler. She picked up Pack #10 and Pack #3, placing them in her pack. Brad helped her lift the cooler and the two moved in as Riven directed.
"Birds have good eye sight." Ashlyn whispered. "We should move fast. Where are we going to?" She looked towards the area opposite of the Beach; seeing the cliffs. "The cliffs?"

Zale Sewell; District Four's Male Warrior for the Battle:"The Fortuneteller's Son" "What is dead may never die." "We go then. Take everything that we can." He didn't want to weigh himself down with armor the way others seemed to be doing. Swimming in armor never struck him as intelligent, and he wouldn't die because he couldn't stay afloat due to the weight of his protection. It was too terribly silly. The radio is nodded to, and he attaches it to his belt. "Right. Up the cliffs. Diedre and Riven led the pack of careers from the horn. As soon as the girls broke from the cover of the horn, one of the birds emitted a shriek. of the birds banked towards the pack and swooped low. The running tributes were buffetted by the wind from these giant birds' wings. Timour and Riva kept pace with Zale, while Ashlyn and the rest brought up the rear. It was the mentor who stumbled and hit the sandy ground on her knees. A sharp cry was emitted as one of the giant birds swooped down and seized Diadem's shoulders. The talons cut into Diadem's shoulders, causing droplets of blood to well. Yet the true terror came when it flapped its wings and Diadem felt her feet lift off of the ground. The bird had to adjust for her weight and it lowered, dragging Diadem's legs against the sand. In just a moment, it would lift off with Diadem in its clutches. Three more birds wheeled behind the career pack, shrieking loudly, 2013-05-06 01:14:37 Timour rolled 8 dice to "Running from the Rocs" 9,3,1,2,8,6,1,5 (2 successes) Link 2013-05-06 01:13:49 Diedre rolled 9 dice to "Running from the Rocs" 10,5,3,5,3,4,8,8,2,3 (3 successes) Link 2013-05-06 01:12:51 Ashlyn rolled 7 dice to "Running from the Rocs" 3,10,4,3,2,1,7,2 (1 successes) Link 2013-05-06 00:15:49 Diadem Gilded rolled 7 dice to "run+ WP" 7,7,5,2,2,1,2 (0 successes)

She wasn’t going to turn around to look at her alliance, but as she did she noticed Diadem lose her footing and fall. Riven began to slow, moving to assist her mentor in getting back on her feet. And then the creature dived down and sunk its claws in Diadem’s shoulders, and Riven cried out in horror. “Stop!” She ordered her alliance, “Defend each other!” No one could be left on their own, for fear of these great birds trying to lift them up too. Riven drew her sword and in one quick motion, lunged forward. The end of her sword plummeted into the beasts chest, manoeuvred around and through the rib cage with an almighty push, and Riven felt her blade slip through the life force of the beast. She withdrew her sword and raised it above her head, “Fend them off!” She cried. The tributes and mentors now had a up close look at these giant birds. The birds were clearly birds of prey, with wickid looking talons and enough strength to lift a full grown woman off of her feet. The beak was curved like an eagle's beak and the same color, over sized to match the birds massive body. The rocs communicate with caws and shrieks and seem to work in tandem. "Go! Go!" Hyperion shouts at Diedre and Iris as they start to unshoulder thier bows. "Get some distance. You're lighter, its easier for them to carry you off!" Diedre and Iris obeyed, with Diedre shouting "We'll shoot them!"Hyperion glances at Riva, but shes already preparing her net. He reconsiders ordering her away. Netting one of the birds could affect its ability to fly and therefore, negate its ability to attack any one. He holds his tongue. Hyperion strides towards Diadem and finds Silver reaching for the young woman. Silver grasps Diadem by her belt loops and pulls her back towards the ground. The bird resists, flapping its wings and emitting a CAW! CAW! as it retains its grip on Diadem. The talons dig at Diadem's shoulders, the talons puncturing the flesh. "See if you can get this thing off, hm?" Silver requests calmly. "I have you, Diadem. I don't think this thing can lift my fat bum." Silver states ironically, as he is quite fit for an older man. He did weigh much more than the women or the tributes. As Riven attacked, she felt the sword tip pressing against resistance as it pierced the bird's chest. There was a sudden give as the bird emitted a sharp, startled cry as Riven's blade pierced its chest. The bird released its hold on Diadem. Diadem found herself falling down, landing squarely on Silver as the two tumble to the ground. Two tears in her flesh were clearly visible on each shoulder blade, one puncture on each side of the shoulder from the gripping talons. The wounds were not substansial. "Get!" Get!" Brad snapped at the birds, swinging his sword at the one that had held Diadem and scoring a scratch on its leg. "They're not going to get gone, they're mutts!" Ashlyn rolled her eyes at her district mate. The district twelve girl leaped upwards, striking one of the birds' shoulders. She rolled her hips and grasped its head, pulling herself up onto its back. "Woooooo!" Ashlyn whooped. "Wanna carry me off?" The bird made a startled, strained cry. Its lighter bird bones were made for supporting weight through its feet, not on its back. The bird struggled to fly, but it dropped to only a foot above the ground. Ashlyn maneuvered herself on the bird's back, attempting a position for a stranglehold. "Here, birdie!" Timour swiped his large fists at the air. The brawler found the birds had quick reflexes and dodged his blows. Ashlyn rolled 9 dice to "Athletics (Jumping on the bird for strangle hold)" 3,4,9,1,7,7,10,2,7,7 (2 successes)

Zale Sewell; District Four's Male Warrior for the Battle:"The Fortuneteller's Son" "What is dead may never die." Something had grabbed Diadem, but a well placed hit from Riven as well as Silver grabbing Diadem by her belt forced the thing to let go. The others had their own things to fight, but Zale turned on the bird that Timour had failed to grab a hold of. His spear was thrust into the thing, not bothering to aim for the animal but at the same time he felt it was a strong hit. Riva and Hyperion were preparing for a fight, from what he could tell, but killing these things could only be good in the long run. Timour shouted: "Look out!" as the three unwounded birds swooped in. - The first soared down towards Zale, its beak reaching for him hungrily. It bit his left shoulder as it flew by.
- The second bird seemed see Zale's attack on its breathen as an affront. It swooped in low, talons stretching out. It attempts to sweep Zale up off of the ground. Its talons bite into Zale's shoulder, causing blood to well from Zale's shoulder blades. Zale feels his feet lift off of the ground...
- The wounded bird snapped at Riven, its beak going for her sword. The birds' beak pierced the flesh of Riven's wrist.
- The bird that Ashlyn was riding crashed onto the ground. The girl did not enjoy her victory as it turned and pecked at her arms that she raised defensively. Ashlyn was now on the ground with the bird hopping above her, CAWing gleefully.
"Now, Riva!" Hyperion ordered as he jumped for Zale. He catches the boy roughly around the midsection. Boy, Hyperion and bird flutter haphazardly about the horn. Zale's legs strike Timour, causing the boy to reach out and try to grab him. Riva throws her net and it circles down over the bird that has Zale. It is a poor throw, the ends of the net do not constrict the birds' movement. it does seem to hinder the birds' balance and eyesight as the bird flaps about in a chaotic manner. Then from out of nowhere, the bird begins to rise. "Zale..." Hyperion grunted as his body began to slide down. "No... Zale, reach for me, I'm losing my grip..."Hyperion desperately grabbed Zale's shirt tails, trying to stay with his tribute. Looking down, Zale realizes he and Hyperion are now ten feet in the air. Should Zale try and grab his mentor for the company and possible aid; or did he need to attack the bird to try and free himself? "Zale!" Riva shouts. "Oh s****." Silver is overheard saying. "Shoot it!""What if we hit them?""Shoot it!"The archers look to Riven for guidance... Beast rolled 6 dice to "Attacking Riven [Bite]" 5,8,6,5,9,9 (3 successes)

Zale Sewell; District Four's Male Warrior for the Battle:"The Fortuneteller's Son" "What is dead may never die." It had been a solid hit. Too solid, apparently. The other three birds came at them, and the tearing in his shoulders was nothing compared to his feet being lifted off of the ground, and then he felt his mentor grabbing at his waist. Zale was many things. A warrior. A priest. A fighter. A survivor. Some might even say he was a healer, having shown a bit of a penchant and talent for that particular skill as well. But he certainly was something else too: A seventeen year old boy. So while he should have tried to kill the bird--it likely would have made for a much better show--instead he thoughtlessly and desperately grabbed for Hyperion. Wherever this thing was taking him, he didn't want to go alone. "Don't let go." He was ashamed of how utterly afraid he sounded, but this wouldn't be a clean death. Not the death he wanted ever, and not a death he'd wish on anyone. He could hear the others scrambling. Trying to find a way to get them back, but he couldn't count on that. He was instead desperately holding onto Hyperion and trying to keep him with him. 2013-05-07 04:57:06 [HG27] Zale Sewell rolled 9 dice to "Strength + Athletics + 3" 5,9,1,1,8,3,9,8,8 (5 successes)

Riven Tanzanite: District One's Volunteer for the 27th Hunger Games, The Anguished Fencer “Nonviolence is a powerful and just weapon, which cuts without wounding and ennobles the man who wields it. It is a sword that heals.” Relief washed over the volunteer from District One as her mentor fell to the ground, and all though now she and Silver had fallen on each other, at least Diadem wasn’t being lifted off by some ridiculous creature hell bent on taking the tributes and the mentors alike. Where they were taking them, Riven had no idea. She didn’t intend to find out. The snap at her wrist annoyed her, and Riven let out a pained and irritated gasp. As Zale, however, was grabbed and lifted off the ground clinging onto Hyperion as he did, terror and fury boiled Riven’s blood. “KILL IT!” Riven feral scream was aimed at the two archers. If they hit one of the District Fours, then so be it. Riven had the feeling that these birds would bring them a fate much worse than an arrow in flesh. She spun around and charged towards the bird that was attacking the defensive Ashlyn, sword still drawn and red with the heart blood of Diadem’s bird, and leapt forward, thrusting the sword through it’s head. “Get up and fight.” Riven ordered the girl from District Twelve. [27] Riven Tanzanite rolled 5 dice to "Leadering: Presence + Persuasion" 9,7,10,3,10,6,7 (3 successes) [27] Riven Tanzanite rolled 10 dice to "Attack Roc: Headshot with Will (15 - 2 - 3)" 10,9,1,1,5,9,4,1,8,3,4(4 successes)

Diadem was grateful for Riven, for her alliance, but in that very moment she was grateful for the first victor of the Hunger Games. “Silver… Thank you.” If Diadem could draw her sword, she did just that. “Riven, are you hurt? Tell the others to drive the birds to the ground. You and I can get in close and finish this.”[Diadem is dodging this round. Her dodge is 10 right now]

Riven ran after Zale and Hyperion, her face tight with tension. The girl had lost her distance weapon and seethed, glancing to the hands of her allaince mates. With the exception of Iris and Diedre, the pack was chasing after Riven. Most of these young men and women had melee weapons and looked at these flying birds with exasperation. Back at the original scene of the fight, Diedre and Iris were launching an assault. Diedre rolled 7 dice to "Shooting Roc [11-4 for proximity]" 6,10,10,7,5,2,9,1,7 (3 successes)
Diedre rolled 7 dice to "Shooting Roc (Rapid Nock) [11-4 for proximity]" 1,7,1,10,1,8,8,9 (4
Iris rolled 5 dice to "Shooting Roc [9-4]" 1,1,6,8,7 (1 successes)
The archers had delivered a delay to the bird carrying Zale and Hyperion. Blood dripped down onto Zale's face and shoulders. Hyperion's shirt was dotted with blood - from Zale or the bird, it was hard to tell. Zale was still firmly held in the grip of the bird, its daggers for talons digging deep into the flesh of his shoulders. Hyperion reached up and gripped the underfeathers of the bird, evaluating the ground. "We're going down!" He announced. It was a dizzying array of brown and blue as the bird fluttered haphazrdly. The pack watched as bird, man and teenager crashed into the lake of salt water surrounding the mines. Twenty yards into the lake, Hyperion kicked free pf the struggling bird. Zale found that the bird was dragging him underwater. Salt water rushed into his mouth, gushed up his nose. A strong hand reached down and grabbed his right forearm, dragging him up to life giving air. The bird CAWed angrily as Hyperion pulled Zale free. The salt water burned his shoulders as blood trickled into the lake. Ashlyn rolled to her feet, blood dripping from her right forearm. She gave Riven a surprised glance at the order, but raised her eyes heavenward. The girl chased after the pack, somewhat behind. The wounded birds were far from defeated and gnawed after thier attackers. The bird that had originally tried to abduct Diadem swoops in after Riven, biting her left arm. Did these birds have reasoning capibilties? Diedre found herself under attack from the bird that Ashlyn had driven to the ground. This giant bird jumped into Diedre's face and bit at her bow. "My bow! Diedre shrieked as the giant bird hopped away with her bow in hand. Beast rolled 6 dice to "Attacking Riven [Bite]" 1,10,1,10,1,5,3,3 (2 successes)
Beast rolled 6 dice to "Stealing bow" 8,3,1,8,2,7 (2 successes)
