Watch Tower"We should have a plan." Coral suggested as she pulled out Felix's first aid kit. Using the tools from the first aid kit and the newer, more improved medicine in the new kit, she began to clean Felix's legs. "I don't think that you should be on the ground by the horn." She proposed to Felix, speaking quickly before Felix could cut her off. "Hear me out. You aren't going to be able to run as fast as any one else at the Feast. But... I'm thinking of last years Games with Thrall. He cut a lot of damage by picking off people with arrows. Brass also did well atop of the horn.
What do you think of being by the tree line and shooting people? Or getting to the top of the horn?" "Thank you."Isolde accepted the binnoculars and slowly turned in place, scanning the tree trunks where a tribute might be standing. She occasionally raised the lenses higher to see if any one had been intrepid enough to scale these odd trees. Many tributes had gotten the jump on someone from the trees in Games gone by. "No tributes." Isolde replied, constantly scanning. She spotted something in the distance and stepped closer towards Jan. Having closed the distance, zeroed her binoculars in on what had alerted her. About thirty feet from the river bank in the direction of the apartment tower, there was a scene with blood splattered on the ground and nearby flora. " I found blood. A lot of it.""Hm," Isolde frowned as she raised the binoculars higher. " The trees seem to be moving... and I can't see any animals. I don't like it." The girl from nine zeroed her binoculars in on a vine that crossed over the river above Jan's head. Glancing around, Ember followed Isolde's gaze and also noticed the bloody scene. It would take ninvestigation to know what had happened here, but it couldn't be good. Lowering her eyes, Ember noticed a moving vine. It had been slowly snaking over the ground towards Lily's ankle. It went motionless under Ember's watchful gaze. Ember and Boomer also noticed a very small tuft of fur on the nearby trunk. A pygmy dart had implanted there. Lowering her gaze, she saw a small depression in the ground immediately in front of a tree that didn't look natural. A trap, most likely. Isolde rolled 5 dice to "Perception" 2,10,9,10,9,5,5 (4 successes)

Felix
He was going to protest. He didn’t want the others to have to go out alone. But what Coral said made a lot of sense. If Felix could get up a tree with his bow, he could probably work on defending those on the ground. He’d be a lot more effective that way, too. Running in on his crutches and trying to balance as he axed would be too difficult.
Finally, Felix nodded.
“I’d rather be with the trees.” He said slowly. He could smell home. It felt close. But was it really home? He didn’t quite know. But the smell, the air, it was familiar. As fast as it had arrived, the sensation left. “But, at the Feast... It would be better if you, all of you, ran as fast as you can, get the bags, and run back to me. I can cover you from the tree line. Sassinak...”
He didn’t know what she would do. She would, however, most likely want to be out there helping. She was similar to him in that way. He smiled fondly but weakly. “We’ll see when she comes to.” He said.
“They’ve discovered our mess, it seems...” Felix pointed out as his headgear described the scene on the screen. “I still... I can’t...” The stress of Sassinak’s stability had distracted him, but the former alliance mates discovering the place that they had killed Savannah made him feel odd again.
“I feel so... So sorry.” He shared quietly.

Lily rummaged through the gear bags quickly, finding the aforementioned knife and passing it to Boomer quickly. They couldn't afford to dawdle here, not when anything or dare they say, anyONE could be watching and waiting to attack... Lily Zelle rolled 6 dice to "Perception" 4,8,2,4,3,6 (1 success)

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire” Ember knelt down near the bloody scene. She touched the stained ground. The blood was cold. This happened hours ago. She looked up, following Izzy's gaze to the treeline. She didn't like how exposed they were. And the fact that plants moved like they had a mind of their own bothered her. When one of them seemed to be going after Lily, Ember stood. “I saw something by the tree. A trap, prolly made by those little guys that poisoned us... Boom-Boom will tell you all about it, Charming. He saw it too.” Ember said, turning to Lily with the machete out and to the side. “Lil' Bit... Don't move... Or move over here because I think that vine is trying to steal you from us.” Ember Clay rolled 6 dice to "Wits+Investigation " 5,3,7,8,1,1 (1 successes) Ember Clay rolled 8 dice to "Wits+Survival (Looking for shelter)" 1,1,1,9,10,1,2,5,8 (3 successes)
Armor: Clothes: Weapons: Gear: Hit Points: 21/ 21Willpower:0/ 6 Boomer: District Five Male Tribute, “The Crafty Crafter” Boomer accepted the knife, graciously. He tossed away the other knife, knowing he wouldn't need it, nodding when Ember mentioned him. “There's a dart here,” he pointed to the small dart on the ground. “And then if you see the ground is different just before that tree. It's a trap. Probably a pitfall trap most likely.” Boomer rolled 7 dice to "Wits+Crafts (Figuring out the trap)" 4,5,5,8,8,3,8 (3 successes)

Lily stared at the now motionless vine with suspicion and concern moving carefully away from it to stand by Ember.
"It could be a strangler vine." The young girl from Five commented, glad that she hadn't found out the hard way. They could have let it take her, one less opposition to the Victor position. She was glad her newfound friends... no, family, were not like that and still willing to watch out for one another. A dark voice in the back of her mind whispered that it would not stay that way for long when there could only be one survivor. Lily ignored it.

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer: The Boy Who Would Watch the World BurnHis eyes found where the 'trap' was, and he frowned. Someone was setting traps. Or had been. There weren't that many of them left, and it was likely that the one who did this was either a former ally, or they were already dead. "This is very open, and we dont' have the high ground. Once we get some water together, we should seek shelter. And someone needs to look at Ember's wound again." To make sure it wasn't festering. He wouldn't save her from a death at the hands of 'Captain Sucks-At-Life' only to lose her to infection. No way. "We're all tired. We should be trying to get some rest. For The Feast."Because whatever it was that was sent for them, they likely very certainly needed it. They almost hadn't seen him, running as fast as he was and as unobtrusive as Jace nearly always was. He'd darted out of the trees not long after there was a faceoff between two Tributes who were attempting to snatch the bags of some of the others'.
Jace had taken off at a dead run from his hiding spot, moving to snatch his bag before he got confronted by Elena. She shot him in the leg--Jan watched his father swallow--and Jace broke the arrow off at the shaft to make running easier.
His hands were shaking, and Jan had stood up. "I can't watch anymore. I'm going to go work...."
IT was less than two hours later, Kal had come out to the fields....

Felix"That means that you're a good person." Coral says quietly to Felix. "This Games is forcing us into making these choices, Felix. They killed twenty three of us when they drew our names. Don't let them give you the guilt for this. This is the Capitol's fault and one of us has to go home and guide other children through this." She squeezes Felix's shoulder. "Is it harder?" She asked, watching the monitors and indicating the Wolf Pack. "Seeing them out there?" As Coral questions, you see something white drifting down as the Wolf Pack walks away. Parachutes"Keep the door open for me." Coral whispers, moving to the door. Cotton opens it and exits with her. You watch the two tiptoe over to three parachutes. Coral picks up two - and then Cotton helps her carry one in addition to his own. Once they were back inside, Coral lays the parachute that says 'District 7' in front of Felix. She picks through her own marked with her district seal. Cotton carries the District 8 parachute to Lacey. District Seven Parachute: - (2) 15 gram packages of Celox
- [Sassinak's gear]
- (2) doses of antibiotic pills
- (2) 15 gram Single use Packets CELOX
- bandages ( 4 uses)
- 20 arrows
Coral could be seen pulling out a piece of armor, a bevor. She also studied a metal pot of lamb stew (2 servings) The last item - two packets of Celox - she tucked into the front pocket of her bag to have it availiable quickly. Cotton and Lacey sort out thier gear quickly - Cotton places 2 packets of Celox and (2) bandages in the front of his pack. Lacey tucks a pot of stew into thier pack for later. Lacey dons a bevor to protect her neck, adjusting the fit. You realize that Lacey and Cotton are planning out thier plan for the Feast moment by moment. They are leaving nothing to chance. They converse easily and openly, with Lacey laying out her plan and Cotton adding to it or questioning parts of it. Lacey is clearly the leader and Cotton does not openly disagree with her. Remembering Cotton's arguments about assisting Jan earlier at the career camp, you realize that argumentative behavior had been out of character for him. "I'll go in first," Lacey decides, pulling out a piece of paper and a pencil from the desk by the monitors. " - and you stay behind me, Cotton. You immediately go for the best supplies. Food, water, our packs and a weapon for you - in that order. If you see medicine, get it as priority #3." Lacey has sketched a picture of the horn, with herself in front (recognizeable with her staff) and Cotton behind her gathering supplies. "I'll attack any one who attacks us or who attempts to go after our bags." "I'd like to help." Cotton stated. Lacey paused, considering this as Cotton continued. "You've taught me how to use a staff." "Bare basics." Lacey reminded him. "Don't get overconfident. If someone attacks me, work on getting them down with that trip manuever. Once they are down, continue to bash them. I'll be watching for any approaching allies and I'll do the same trip manuever on the most dangerous ally first. Remember to stay together and stay one step behind me." Lacey glanced over towards Felix's group. "Do you have a plan? You're more than welcome to join us. We'd likely do better together." The Wolf PackJan spent a few more minutes filling three more skins, for a total of six full (untreated) skins. would he stay longer for more water? This was half a days worth for six people. As Ember studied the area for suitable shelter, she walked some thirty feet down stream. Seeing a dark area, she left the stream and walked twenty feet further into the Ruined City. There she found two pillars of rock, each about five feet high. One could erect shelter between them and have feasible cover from the average tribute passing by. At this time, parachutes drifted down into the possible camp. The tributes found within items that they would have picked out for themselves. Ember found a special gift from Hiriam, an arm terminal nearly identical to the one for Sassinak; sized to fit Ember.

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute, “The Girl Who Loved to Play with Fire” Dark circles decorated Ember’s stormy gray eyes. She looked at Lily and smiled. “I won’t let a vine take you. We’ve still got work to do. But I need you stick by Charming and Sweetpea. Keep watch while Charming gets us more water. Me and Boom-Boom are gonna make a house.”Ember went and retrieved her pack. She opened the package and almost cried. Her mentor had given her back her fighting arm. Apparently Ember Clay had made an impact. They don’t give tributes from the dirty D-12 gear like this. Ember looked at Jan. “Get more water for us first. We’ll treat it and then we can move. Right now we’ve got enough water for half the day left over from our stores. Then we’ve got this water that you’ve collected. If you collect another half of days’ worth we won’t have to look before the Feast…” She touched his face with her good hand. “Don’t worry about me, Charming. I’ll be fine for another half hour or so.”Boomer took the lead building the shelter. He wanted it to be strong and big enough to have all five of them under there. After they were done Ember allowed Boomer to help her camo the shelter. They used items around them to make the shelter look like it was a part of the terrain. Ember Clay rolled 9 dice to "Wits+Survival+ 1 for help (To Camo Using the terrain)" 6,9,1,6,9,6,2,1,4 (2 successes) Ember Clay rolled 9 dice to "Wits+Survival+ 1 for help (To Camo Using the terrain)" 6,2,5,3,9,1,4,2,1 (1 successes) Boomer rolled 8 dice to "crafting shelter" 2,5,5,9,4,10,8,3,5 (3 successes) Boomer rolled 8 dice to "crafting shelter" 5,9,2,3,3,2,4,2 (1 successes) Armor: Clothes: Weapons: Gear: Hit Points: 21/ 21Willpower:0/ 6

Felix
Felix smiled when he was passed the district seven parachute. He took out all of the items, still smiling. His mentors knew exactly what he wanted. He packed the packets of Celox and the bandages in the front of his own pack. He left the antibiotic pills beside him for the moment, and then split the twenty arrows in half, placing ten in Sassinak’s quiver, and ten in his own. The chicken pot pie servings found their place in his pack too, and he left the parachute next to Sassinak’s resting body for her to discover her gear that had been sent.
He listened to Lacey and Cotton’s plan.
“We can help each other.” Felix said, “Coral wants me to stay back, climb a tree, and shoot from there.” He shared, “I don’t know what Sassinak wants to do, but if she stays back too, that means you have two pairs of eyes- well, one pair of eyes and a helmet- watching your backs.” He didn’t need to mention that protecting Coral was his first priority.
“I won’t attack Jan, Ember, Lily, Isolde or Boomer unless they attack you two or Coral, and I’d advise you to do the same...” He said, “But if they start to get aggressive, show signs that they’re going to try to kill any of you, I’ll not think first before shooting them. You have my word.”
Even little Lily.

Jan Colton; District 9's Volunteer: The Boy Who Would Watch the World Burn
His own parachute had it's own treasures. The one he wasn't quite sure about was the packets, but if Lyme was sending them to him, they must be good for something. He'd read the note that came with them in a moment, but the other...
A pen and paper.
Whether it was a reminder of Jace--and that boy Lallek--or if it was just something she thought he'd need at some point, Jan was thankful. Because he had something he needed to communicate to someone, and he needed to do it. The knowledge, for all he knew, may die with him if he didn't make it home, and that was just unacceptable.
Those kids deserved better. Her husband deserved better.
And someone needed to know.
The three things were shoved into the pocket of his District jacket as he turned, and as Ember spoke, he covered her hand with his own and smiled. "Hiram came through." It gave her back some hope, and it meant it wouldn't be just he and Lily as close combatants.
"I want you to show me how to use these throwing knives when we get a chance. After we get shelter and I get water. We need to get through the Feast.
"One step at a time, Sunshine." They would only have each other here, in the Arena. The best they could hope for was one of them going home. Or that they could die together, watching one of the other three become the Victor....
It wasn't much to hope for, but it was hope.

Wolf Pack DidJan choose to fill more of the empty skins? In studying the shelter, one realized that making it water proof was going to be a problem. What they needed was a tarp - perhaps Lily remembered hers - or to coat the wooden slats with mud from the riverbank. The shelter was a little cramped - the ruined city didn't have many more supplies for expanding the size of the shelter to fit 5 people... unless someone wanted to venture further away from camp. In camouflaging the shelter, one was fairly certain that one couldn't see it. Fairly.
Felix & Co
Sassinak's eyes fluttered open nearly an hour after she had fainted. She glanced around sleepily until she saw the parachute, drawing herself up and looking through it. "Oh good." She said happily. "Whats going on?"
"I'll go with Lacey to the front lines." Coral stated to Felix. "We have Brass and Galen still out there... and our old alliance."
She made a face, clearly not liking the idea of seeing them.
"Oh right, the feast is tomorrow at noon." Sassinak recalled. "Are you planning for it?"
"I appreciate that." Lacey stated. "I'd suggest we try and get there early. We can stake out a place for you to hide and hopefully see how strong the others are."
"You're not going to blindly go after Jan." Cotton elaborated worriedly. Lacey glanced towards Cotton and replied evasively. "He came near you last time. Maybe he'll keep his distance. But tomorrow? I'm not holding back."

Felix
When Sassinak woke up, Felix moved so she could sit up properly. He was glad that she seemed to be feeling more herself.
He took a pill from the packet they had been sent, and then passed Sassinak her water skin. “Here,” He passed her the two things, “Take this, you’ll feel even better. I’m pretty sure you have to wait eight hours before taking the second. Antibiotics were really expensive back home.” It was more natural medicines that his mother used to get from the district’s healer’s.
He listened to Lacey and Cotton. “Brass is the main priority,” He reminded them, “He has one of these helmets. He did this to me and Sassinak in two strikes. He needs to be gone fast. And I’m prioritising Galen over my old alliance.” He informed them.
“As I said, I’ll defend you if they attack you. But I’d rather fight them on better terms than the Capitol’s organised little Feast.” He said. “Just because they want us to kill each other horrifyingly at this Feast, doesn’t mean we have to comply.”
