Lily relished in the look on the Career's face as Ember joined in the assault and pierced Victoria's liver. True to her own word, Lily had herself another go as her knive lashed out twice, aiming for her opponent's neck. Lily rolled 6 dice to "Neck Slash" 1,1,2,3,8,2 (1 success) Lily rolled 5 dice to "Neck Stab" 9,7,1,1,1 (1 success) To Lily's frustration, the Career was still nimble enough that Lily's attacks were more glancing than lethal, but if she wanted a death by one thousand cuts than Lily was happy to oblige her. (Lily has 2 Defense for the next attack against her)

Kingston Anam "BLEED FOR ME! DIE FOR ME!" I hear someone screaming at the girl from before. I rememer her name. Seren. I can tell she's been hurt. Is she looking for me? I begin to have the feeling she wants an ally. The only problem is there is too much action for me to go down and fight. I spot Seren, running off from the person whom she was fighting. Is she looking to ally or to kill me? I shift in the tree, a risky move, to see if she notices me.

Brass Power, District 2 Male As blood spattered Brass, he felt the thrill of killing. His breath quickened as he stepped forward to the right, sliding the tip of his sword into Seren's side. This was easier than killing animals. He let out another yell of enjoyment, a quick whoop of pleasure as he pivoted around in front of her and slid his sword back out of her side and slid the blade in and up under her ribcage, and right into her heart. (narrative, not targeted) First stab: 5,7,7,5,1,1,9,9 (2 successes 2+2 for half-swording, 4 damage. Second Stab: 9,2,7,2,5,7,9,9 (3 successes) 3+2 for half-swording, 5 damage. 9 Damage total. Brass felt a thrill watching the light go out in Seren's eyes as he wrenched the blade from her body, and was spattered with her her blood. So, so much better than animals, he thought, turning the dead body to the side and looking back to the Bloodbath at Cornucopia. His first kill and he was ready for more. (Until Brass's next action, he has a 0 Defense for striking twice)

Brass Roared his cries of thirst for death. He slashes at Seren, she whimpers and falters in her step but keeps going. He catches up, stabbing her in the small of her back, making her tumble to the ground. She falls face first into the bloodstained grass. There is no doubt, Brass is hovering over her, waiting to finish her off with the final blow. Seren spits out blood as her vision goes red. She sees a faint bright light. She curses quietly but smiles. She gets to see her parents. Seren wishes someone will avenge her, but who. No one loves her. Seren goes cold as her heart stops. She lets out a gasp seeing the swaying trees above her. Her vision goes white and her pounding heart is replaced with a sound of silence. The sound of victory for the career, Brass.

Kingston Anam I see Seren below me. My only chance at an ally. She's lying on the ground, dead. Her body is completely lifeless. I can tell by the sound of the cannon. I push some branches out of the way and ready my hunting knife to aim at her killer. Brass. I take the knife and throw it with all the force I can, hitting Brass in the arm. Kingston Anam rolled 7 dice to "Throwing Knife" 2,1,10,3,10,3,8,3,2 (3 successes)

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female Tribute
"Hey! Someone tagged two!" Ember scanned the killing ground and smiled. Four was still alive. There was just something about killing career kids. Never got any better than that.
"Five, come on. This is your kill. Just kill her." Ember said to the tiny girl.
Ember put her knife away and took out her bow. "Oh.... Fo--ur! Did you forget that I had one of these things? Seriously, I thought they trained you career kids for this kind of stuff."

Brass Power, District 2 Male
Brass was still reveling in the kill of Seren. He shivered with enjoyment and turned to leave the edge of the forest. The other tribute he'd seen fleeing there was likely long gone. He grinned as he turned back toward the Bloodbath. There were still tributes to kill there.
Then a touch of pain bloomed in his arm as a knife bit into him and the offending weapon dropped into the snow near him. Animals had hurt him before, scratches and bites... but this was different. A grin spread across his face as he scooped up the knife and turned back to the trees. He scanned the branches nearby, then pointed with the offending knife.
"I'll be comin' for you. You can't hide in the branches forever," Brass called out, malice echoing in his voice. But for now, the boy was safe. There were other, easier targets to go after... like Victoria, whom the other kindred souls were double teaming.
He tucked his newly acquired knife into his belt, adjusted his grip on his sword, and moved toward the horn, actively preparing to parry or dodge things coming his way.
(Until his next action, Brass's Def is 7)

The adrenaline pumps through your system as the blood cools on the ground of Cornucopia... soon; you see the locales surrounding the Cornucopia much better. There is - the peaceful (but flat) green meadow
- the rocky Grey mountains with its patches of ice
- the dark Forrest
- The Sandy wasteland
- The frozen tundra
Every character is alive to practice this food - finding exercise!Wherever you choose to go; you soon feel a rumbling in your stomach. You need to find something to eat... Options- Foraging: Spending time looking for berries, nuts or edible plants. Foraging for Sustenance: Wits + Survival + equip-
ment; extended action (five successes required; one roll represents one hour of searching) (p. 77) - Snaring: If you have taken the knot tying station, you may lay a snare. The number of successes that you gain from your snare set up roll tells you what you will catch. A one is a small fist - sized animal, barely a meal. A two is a small rabbit. A three is a good sized mammal. Wits + Crafts/Survival
- Hunting: You can attempt to hunt for red meat. A Tracking roll to find an animal; then you must attack the animal. Remember to subtract for called shots for a good chance at a one - shot kill. ll
Shadowing Stealthily: Wits + Stealth + equipment (shadow) versus Wits + Composure + equipment (sub- ject); contested action (p. 76)

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female TributeShe hadn't gotten Four. All that work and for nothing. She'd get him eventually. Careers. A Career took her sister from her. And then came to her district on his victory tour. District one. Ember couldn't help but chuckle at the irony of it all. Her strategy was like the Wolf Pack's in the 20th Hunger Games, the one that took her sister. Would she end up at run through with a sword, like her sister? Would her alliance mates die in their sleep? My destiny is already written. My fate already sealed.Ember's faith in the Games, in the odds was unwavering. If the odd were in her favor she would be victorious. In they were not... well she would die like her sister. The forest is where she spent most of her time. The woods were her home. Not the shack she had to share with Saffron and Ash. The forest raised her, provided for her, in an odd way loved her more than her parents ever did. So it seemed like the logical place to go. Ember Clay rolled 9 dice to "Tracking" 8,6,3,7,5,1,3,2,6 (1 successes) She cursed softly with only the trees around to see her. She found tracks. Faint but there. Ember could still follow them. Her bow was out and she was trying to stay as quiet as possible. Ember Clay rolled 3 dice to "Staying Quiet" 10,2,1,10,5 (2 successes) She moved quickly, silently, until she spotted movement. Notch. Aim. Loose... Ember prayed as she remembered her training. May the odds be in my favor.Ember Clay rolled 8 dice to "Stealth Attack" 5,3,9,8,10,10,5,1,1,10,10,6,6 (6 successes) Ath 4 + Dex 4 + Bow 1 + Sp 1 - Called Shot (Chest)

Seren dashes away from the tributes. She darts towards the meadow seeing a blurry mess ahead of her as she continues forward. Soon the big green blobs make sense now. Bushes! Her stomach growls and she desperately hopes its food. She licks her lips in anticipation as she nears the bush. She makes it and grabs the bushes and parts them as she scans for any signs of edible food. Sadly, there is nothing to be eaten. Serenity rolled 5 dice to "Foraging (Wits + Survival)" 1,1,5,9,7 (1 successes)

Ember realizes that the tracks were very faint because her prey was so small. A small, spotted fawn moves into her line of sight. It may be small; but it was still a meal. The young creature may provide more tender meat. Ember's arrow takes the animal in the chest. It pitches forward and twitches for a moment before stilling. The fawn's eyes become glassy in death.
Seren moves along the bushes; not finding anything edible. Surely there must be some berry bush here somewhere. As she walks along the bushes, she spots a small brown bird on the ground. The bird holds a red berry in its mouth that it quickly gobbles up. The bird begins to hop away further down the meadow. Perhaps if Seren follows the bird; she will find berries as well.
Five successes are needed to find food. Seren uses 1 hour searching. Go ahead and continue to roll until you get 4 more suxx.

After a good start to the Games with two kills under her belt, Lily was starting to feel hungry. That last meal at the Capitol felt like years away as her stomach made its discomfort known. Setting snares was beyond Lily's abilities so that option was out. Lily had no experience hunting either, so that just left foraging. Damn. An hour of extensive searching later, Lily had barely enough for half a meal. The second hour of searching yielded less sustenance than the first, her results thrown off by her hunger. It wasn't until the third hour that Lily hit the jackpot, finding a treasure trove of berries and fruit that gave her more than enough for a meal, which she greedily tucked into. Lily Zelle rolled 4 dice to "Foraging" 1,10,5,7,10,4 (2 successes) Lily Zelle rolled 4 dice to "Foraging" 2,1,10,3,7 (1 successes) Lily Zelle rolled 4 dice to "Foraging" 7,10,8,9,6 (3 successes)

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female TributeShe cut up the fawn with the precision of someone that had been hunting as long as she had been able to carry a bow. Hunting was the only skill that was useful to a District 12 tribute in the games. They didn't go working in the mines until they were 18. In fact Ember was on her way there if she hadn't been chosen. It was my destiny but compete in the games.Once the fawn was harvested, Ember took the meat she could salvage and went to tying off snares. She liked the thrill of the kill so snaring wasn't her strong suit. Archery was and blade work too. But she'd try her hand at it anyway. After all she only had a few arrows. That was her thought when she pulled her arrow out of the fawn. Your death will give me life. Your blood now mine blood little one.Ember Clay rolled 7 dice to "Constructing Snares" 9,7,5,6,1,4,2 (1 successes) Ember Clay rolled 7 dice to "Constructing Snares" 3,8,5,6,8,9,5 (3 successes) Once she was satisfied with her work, Ember set off to find food that wasn't dead animal. Protein would give her energy. But a balanced meal would keep her at 100%. Besides, meat only lasted for so long. Unless she smoked it. And that would attract unwanted attention. But that was a thought of later on. A well placed trap here and there with a fire on and the smell of cooking meat could be used to lure so dumb kid from one of the poorer districts. Ember Clay rolled 7 dice to "Foraging" 1,1,6,9,7,3,3 (1 successes) Ember Clay rolled 7 dice to "Foraging" 4,2,3,4,4,6,4 (0 successes) Ember Clay rolled 7 dice to "Foraging" 8,7,7,10,1,2,10,2,1 (3 successes) Ember Clay rolled 7 dice to "Foraging" 5,5,1,9,5,10,9,7 (3 successes) After four hours of searching Ember found what she had been looking for. It wasn't much. But it was enough, she supposed. But with sunset approaching, Ember needed to get back to her snares, collect her catch and find a place to camp for the night. Trees seemed to be the best bet. Note to self: stick to hunting.

The characters have had a chance to practice gathering food! Now its time to focus on another aspect of the Hunger Games... the mutations. CaidragonThis was once a Caiman animal that had been crossed with a Komodo Dragon. In addition to retaining its swimming and hunting abilities; it now has a bacteria ridden mouth. It tends to deliver a bite and wait for infection to settle in; following its prey at a distance to feast on the kill when the tribute dies from the toxin in 1-2 days. Location: Island 1 (Beach Area), Island 2, Cornucopia, Lagoon Hit Points 15 Defense 2 Grouping Solitary or in pairs You have just managed to finish the fine meal that you had gathered when you hear a noise. Turning your head, you see a Caidragon lumbering up the hill towards you! Its teeth look sharp and dangerous... what do you do?

Ember Clay: District Twelve Female TributeEmber rolled 6 dice to "Attack" 8,4,2,9,4,6 (2 successes) Ember dropped everything when she heard the beast. Her heart stopped but her body sprang into action. She reached for the bow, notched an arrow, and let it fly toward the beast. Yes!"A little help here!" Ember called to someone as she notched another arrow.

Sparring Station
Kingston comes to a training booth that deals a simulated battle with a live opponent. Something that might come in handy when he found himself in a fight to the death.
"This exercise will show you what it will be like against a real opponent," the trainers tells the small group. "Okay so you," he points to the large male tribute from district 10, and then at Kingston. "And you. Grab a virbosword and step onto the map."
The trainer explains that the sword won't pierce the skin but it will emit an electric pulse that is meant to simulated what a wound would feel like.
[Okay Kaplan, so Kingston will be using a sword. So the roll to attack would be Strength + Weaponry + Equipment - Opponent's Defense. So for this exercise let's say that Kingston's weapon comes with a +2 mod. So for Kingston it's Strength (3) + Weaponry (2) + Sword (2). This will give Kingston a starting dice pool of 7. His opponent's defense is 2. So the formula would be as followed: 3 + 2 + 2 - 2. So go ahead and roll to attack]

Sparring StationThe district ten tribute, Marsh is able to side step the incoming sword and mount an attack of his own. He takes a swipe at Kingston, striking him just along the arm. There's no blood but it feels like a small gash; stinging as if he is truly hurt. 10,6,3,1,1,9,6,3 (2 successes) [Tip: Kingston's weaponry skill is average. Competing against some of the contestants with higher weaponry skills. Your athletics is high. My recommendation would be to either really focus on weaponry training or learn how to use a bow or throwing weapons. You'll want to boost your Dex because that will give you a higher defense. If not, boosting your strength would give you an advantage as well.]

(Thanks for the tip, though I'm not quite sure how to do that. I also suppose that how many successes there are is how much damage it does? How much health do I start with?) Kingston can feel the pain of the cut that isn't there. He slashes back with his own sword, making a hit this time. Kingston Anam rolled 5 dice to "Attack" 5,2,9,1,9 (2 successes)

March grunts as Kingston's hit him in the left shoulder. He plants his feet and attacks once more. His sword slides across Kingston's left leg. 5,3,2,2,3,8,4 (1 successes) [To increase skills you can do so with training. You have the opportunity to gain up to 3 in any area you'd like. Take Sword course and you'll get one point in weaponry. Take the firemaking course and you'll gain a point in survival. They way you add to your physical attributes is to take more involved training courses. Take a tree climbing course and you'll gain one point in Dex. Take the weight training and you'll get a point in Strength]

As our arena is so close to starting, I am bumping this with a new prompt. We'll start with three rounds of the Blood Bath and move on The gong sounds with a sound that sends adrenaline pumping into your system. Movement all around you! Immediately across and about fifteen feet from Felix, Sassinak jumps down from her platform. She sprints forward and crouches, coming up with a bow and a fetch of ten arrows. She notches an arrow and searches the arena for her partner. The girl from seven remains crouched five feet from her platform, an arrow ready to fly. Bogart strides from his platform and selects a large sword. He turns and surveys the arena, his eyes scanning over the two females closest to him; Sassinak and Coral. Coral has already left her podium and is straightening with a chakram in her hand. Catching Bogart's eye, Coral raises her circular weapon; preparing for a throw in his direction. "I wouldn't." The district 4 girl states confidently. "I would." Bogart smirks, moving forward towards Coral...

Felix’s eyes darted around the Cornucopia. Faces spun past him as he frantically search. Eclypse. Boomer. Ember. Lily. Victoria. Marsh. Isolde. Galen. Sassinak. His eyes clung to Sassinak, and the countdown began to come to a close.
5... 4... 3... 2...
“Don’t die.”
1
Felix hurtles from his platform, and races across the field. He doesn’t care who’s around him, he doesn’t care who can see him. He only cares about her. Felix scans the ground beneath him, looking for anything to defend himself with. He slows down only enough to reach down and pick up an axe as he passes it. With it in his hand, he picks up the pace again.
He can see Sassinak, but then he sees Coral and Bogart facing off. He looks to his partner, meeting her eyes, before turning in the direction of Bogart and Coral.
“I wouldn’t either.” Felix says angrily, facing Bogart, “Back off and we won’t hurt you.” He growls, brandishing his axe and tightening his grip on it.

"Oh, you have a little friend." Bogart smiles and its a nasty one. He moves past Coral and strides towards Felix. To Felix's surprise, he discards the sword just as he reaches out with a hand. Bogart snaps a punch to Felix's left shoulder. It was a glancing blow, but Bogart was well muscled.
Bogart rolled 7 dice to "Brawling with Felix [10 - 3]" 5,1,5,7,3,7,9 (1 successes)
Coral took in the situation with a frown. With Felix's proximity, she couldn't get a good blow in. "Sassinak!" She signaled to Felix's partner. The girl pivoted on her ankle and loosed an arrow. The arrow flew true, piercing Bogart's left calf.
Sassinak rolled 11 dice to "Shooting Bogart [13 - 2]" 3,4,7,8,2,8,3,5,1,9,6 (3 successes)
