Klo, feeling arrogant and that she was the best knife thrower the games ever had threw the knife without a second thought.
Klo Reivier rolled 5 dice to "Throw Knife" 4,1,6,1,3 (0 successes)
Klo gasped in embarrassment. The trainer patted her shoulder and prodded for her to go again. This time Klo carefully aimed at the knife soared at the target.
Klo Reivier rolled 5 dice to "Knife Throw" 10,7,4,8,10,4,8 (4 successes)
The knife struck the target with a "Twack!" and Klo sighed in relief. She grabbed another knife and twirled it in the air and caught it by the handle. She took a step back and then thrust one foot forward giving the knife a bit more force.
Klo Reivier rolled 5 dice to "Knife Throw" 6,4,10,9,9,6 (3 successes)
Klo smiled. She really was good at this. I guess she just needed some warm ups to get these perfect shots. She took 2 to do another double throw. She did one earlier and wanted to try again. Maybe if she did it she would do a triple throw. She placed the knifes in between her fingers and thrust her hand forward, launching the knifes forward.
Klo Reivier rolled 5 dice to "Knife Throw" 3,10,4,9,5,9 (3 successes)
She smiled and decided to do a triple throw. She placed the knifes in between her fingers and did the same movement as before.
Klo Reivier rolled 5 dice to "Knife Throw" 9,4,7,6,1 (1 successes)
Klo smiled. Alright, she was skilled. Klo flipped her hair in an arrogant fashion and rose her head up high. She spotted the trainer and waited for further instructions.

Jasmine Coverfield, District 11 Female
Jasmine looked at the trainer, smiled again. She backed up to the sheath of arrows she passed when she first came in and tried it on. She slung it at her waist on her belt and walked back to the firing line. She drew the first arrow across her body and frowned. That didn't feel right. She put the arrow back and adjusted the sheath of arrows to her opposite hip, lifted the bow and started drawing arrows. She nocked the first, lined up the 20 foot target and loosed.
3,9,2,1,7,7,5 (1 successes)
The arrow soared and thunked through the target's knee. Not as good as her first shot, but... Maybe it was beginner's luck. She drew another arrow and raised the bow, drawing the arrow back and loosing it at the 20 foot target again.
7,5,6,7,2,6,3 (0 successes)
Jasmine frowned as the arrow soared past the target and clattered on the ground. She sighed, but wasn't defeated. She just needed to take her time and clear her mind. She changed her aim, settling the sighting line on the 40 foot target. She loosed the arrow...
8,6,10,3,8,4,8 (4 successes)
and watched the arrow fly straight and true, sinking solidly through the target's throat. She smiled at that. She drew another arrow from the sheath and nocked it. She'd ask the trainer a question or two after... Was she having fun here? Was she allowed to have fun? She lined up the sight lines and loosed the arrow at the 40 foot target.
6,7,10,1,2,2,1 (1 successes)
And watched it sink satisfyingly into the target's groin. She sighed. Last shot, she promised herself, then she would ask the trainer for advice to dial in her accuracy. She needed to be consistent for this to work in the Arena. She looked at the pair of targets she'd already peppered and took up another arrow. She drew in her breath, let it out slowly as she lined up the 60 foot target. She aimed for the left eye of the target. Concentrated, let the rest of the world fade out and loosed the arrow.
3,5,8,10,8,9,9 (5 successes)
And watched the arrow rock the 60 foot target back and forth, the arrow sticking out of its left eye. She let a satisfied shudder roll through her, and a small thrill jump through her body at having found something she seemed to be a natural at. She looked over at the trainer as she drew another arrow, only one left in the sheath, and nocked it in the bow. "So... Uhm, clearly I'm not very good at consistency. I've got two questions: How do I dial in my consistency? And can we get these moving? Unless I'm really lucky, folks aren't gonna stand still."

Lallek left his test with sore hands. He had no desire to go back to hand to hand training. Maybe in the next few days he would, but for now he was done with that.
As the dull throbbing in his hands began to subside he made his way to the camouflage station. Hopefully he could hone this skill even more. Stealth would be a huge advantage in the games. There were stronger tributes and faster tributes, but Lallek was determined to play the smartest. Sure he wasn't intimidating but that made stealth that much easier. Hopefully by the time the games started he could be a ghost.

Hey grrbot, I'm going to need you to not write for the trainers, please. I will write them, thank you. Please focus on Klo's reaction to what the others writers and I give her to interact with.
Jace, Rory, Femra, Abigail, Micha: Edible & Medicinal Plant station
"We'll discuss some artic willow," The trainer explained, bringing out a bin. She rustles through it, pulling out a container containing a shrub. She breaks off several pieces, passing one to each tribute. "The arctic willow is a shrub that never exceeds more than 60 centimeters in height and grows in clumps that form dense mats on the tundra." She explains. The trainer took a knife to her portion, stripping off the outer bark. She pops the inner root into her mouth and eats the crunchy root raw.
"Not flavorful, but its an excellent source of vitamin C."
She also brings out another odd plant, bearberry. This plant is a common evergreen shrub with reddish, scaly bark and thick, leathery leaves 4 centimeters long and 1 centimeter wide. It has white flowers and bright red fruits. "These berries are edible." She explains. "The leaves can be used in tea."
"Now I'll assemble some poisonous plants." She states. "We can work on identifying similarities in them.
Hey grrbot, I'm going to need you to not write for the trainers, please. I will write them, thank you. I will also post replies to every one asap. I am working on some good replies; but I need to make some food for Easter, and will return tonight.

Rory Noland
Rory looks around at her alliance mates. She smiles. Then she turns her attention back to the trainer. "Are there extremely toxic plants in the arena? I mean usually..." Rory asks.

Knife throwing station: Klo
"Not bad for the first challenge." The trainer replied, reaching down and flipping a switch. The man - shaped targets fell out of sight.
"Now we can try the timed excercise." She proposed. As Klo watched, a target swung into sight and hung for thirty seconds before dropping back out of sight. The second target swung into sight, remaining for two minutes. Three more targets came into sight at the same time, the fourth target vanishing after a minute. Klo found herself challenged to aim at targets that came into view and disapeared from view randomnly.
Please roll the same roll with a - 2 modifer
Jasmine: Archery Station
"Very good." The trainer nodded approvingly at Jasmine. "I say you've learned all that you can here. Archery is a strong suit for you."
As the trainer completed, Bay, the district 3 female, walked up beside Jasmine and selected a bow.
Rory, Jace & Femra: Edible & Medicinal Plant station
"There have been a couple." The trainer replies to Rory. "These are the three used in the 20th Arena." She gestured to the three fruits on the fair left of the assembled poisonous plants. The fruits were round and bright colors- one looked like an apple, one a bright yellow oblong shape and the last was a 'furry' brown one.
"They are designed to look like fruit." The trainer explained. "But this apple..." She used a knife to cut along the peel, stripping it off and handing it to Rory. Rory could immediately tell that the peel felt waxy and flat, not wet and supple like a real apple peel.
The other three poisonous plants were brightly colored - one looked like a greener version of the aqautic plant, katniss.
"When in doubt, look for differences from what you expect. Don't be afraid to observe the fruit and see if any of the arena animals are feeding from the plant. It's always better to lean on the side of caution. Some poisons can be remedied by a sponsor sending medicine, but some will be fast acting.
Do you have more questions about poisonous plants?"

Lallek
A brunnette joined Lallek at the camoflougue station, the family member reaped from District 3. "Hello." The girl greeted, swirling her finger in the brown paint. She applied it experimentally on her arm, making a brown spiral on her forearm.
"Come over here." The middle aged blonde woman running the station stepped out behind the corner, taking Lallek and the girl by the elbow. She walked them to a few potted paints and pointed at the leaves. "These are deciduous trees. In this season, they are this rich green color that you get by mixing these two..."
She begins showing Lallek and the girl how to mix leaf - colored paint.

Jasmine Coverfield, District 11 Female
Jasmine narrowed her eyes at the trainer. Sure, she was a natural with the bow, but, she didn't feel like she had any real training. Her questions hadn't been answered and she was about to demand those questions be answered when the District 3 tribute walked over. With a huff, Jasmine thrust the bow she held into the other girl's hands and set the nearly empty sheath of arrows next to her feet. "Good luck."
She shot one last glare at the trainer, and walked away. She moved back far enough to observe the training stations proper. She'd picked the archery station before at random to draw attention to the growing tension between the careers and the non-careers after the mandatory training. And while, it was useful to learn she was a natural with the bow, it had left her feeling a little less than sure when her questions hadn't been answered. She turned and headed toward the knots station. Perhaps she could learn to craft snares or other traps at that station.
She walked up to the trainer. "Hey... What's this station about?"

Jasmine: Knot Tying Station
"This is about knot tying," The brunette woman replies. "- you can learn how to make snares for catching game, knots for setting traps and knots for fishing nets. Would you be interested in learning that?" The trainer inquired.
Glancing at her station, you see two separate areas. The first is set up with bushes and a shallow stream, stretching about fourteen feet in length. The second was a glass cube - with several fish swimming within- and a small board beside the tank. Several types of netting lie beside the tank.

The District 3 girl only gets a small wave in response.
Lallek takes to the station with as much vigor and concentration as he could. He knew a bit of making natural paints from certain tropical plants, but this was an entirely new skill. It felt good to take his mind off Pearl and Amy and to focus on a task.
As the instructor showed him how to make the paints, Lallek goes to the trouble of experimenting. He follows the woman's lead careful to combine the various ingredients just as she shows him. Once in a while though he mixes a bit more of one ingredient than another. The more shades he could create the better. Variety was the spice of life after all. Despite being unable to talk he tries to "ask" questions when possible. Now was one of the few times he would be able to just absorb information. Maybe one of the last times. Regardless, the station keeps his mind out of darker places.

Jasmine Coverfield, District 11 Female
Jasmine smiled at the knots trainer, her foul mood, sparked from the archery trainer's dismissal, fading away. She wondered, briefly, if the trainers were the same as those her brother might have visited two years prior. The thought caused a faltering in her pretty smile. She held her breath and distracted herself by looking past the trainer at the two distinctly different training areas for knots.
While Jasmine wasn't about to admit it, she wasn't a terribly strong swimmer and couldn't see herself making a lot of use of the nets, for fishing at least. The snares, on the other hand, meant she could stay on dry ground, or possibly even in a tree.
"Let's start with the snares, and the bushy side o' things," she told the trainer, with a flash of a smile. "I'm not terribly familiar with ropes and the like, we didn't use 'em much with how high in a tree I'd go, so... How do we begin?"

Camoflague Station: Lallek "Good use of the brown there." The trainer remarked to Bay, who was mottling her arm like a tree trunk. The instructor turned her attention to Lallek, observing his technique for several minutes. She makes no criticisms, instead bringing over several small tree branches. She points out the knobs and swirls of the branches and demonstrated how to achieve the realistic irregularities by using common materials- mud, dirt, crushed or folded leaves. The trainer then began to place one or two leaves against the outer part of her forearm, moving to hold it against a larger potted tree.
"See how placement helps mask your camoflague? One point of camoflague is to take advantage of the environment. Climb the tree, lay in a rock pile or sprawl flat against a mud bank. Human nature when looking for people is to make a big glance - looking for movement- and studying where hey expect to find people - at head height. Stay still and break up your profile."
The trainer brings Lallek around to a cluster of planted trees ranging from five to eight feet in height.
"Practice blending into the trees and being still. "
She brings over other tools and demonstrates how to attach branches and other bits of the environment to clothes and his body by using mud, tree sap, honey and some other unamed goey substance that he might find in the wild.
Go ahead and give me a Wits + stealth, one roll per 20 minutes of work
Jasmine: Knot Tying Station
"I'm used to that." The dark skinned male trainer replied with an easy smile. "I'll first teach you how to make a strangle snare, which uses a strangle knot."
He guides Jasmine over to a table and picked up two snare ropes, handing one to Jasmine. "Follow me," He directed, laying the rope in a loose circle on the table. He pulled one end of the wope through the circle, making a loose knot with an opening in the center. The instructor picked up the end of the rope and fed it through the center of the circle. The instructor pauses and checks Jasmine's progress before continuing to complete the knot.
"Do you have any questions so far?"

I took the knife and turned towards the targets. I was scared and nervous. I was trying to gain Silver's trust but how could he when I was a nervous wreck on my best skill. The targets were a blur and I launched it at a target.
Klo Reivier rolled 3 dice to "Throw Knife" 5,4,7 (0 successes)
The knife went whizzing past the target and bounced off the wall at the other end of the training center. I sighed. I knew I wouldn't make it. I looked to the tributes but they were busy at training. Phew at least no one saw. I grabbed another knife and once a target came up I launched it again.
Klo Reivier rolled 3 dice to "Throw Knife" 3,1,10,5 (1 successes)
The knife struck the target and the target went into its slot in the ground. I clapped my hands together and smiled. I grabbed another one and launched it at another target.
Klo Reivier rolled 3 dice to "Throw Knife" 4,10,6,7 (1 successes)
I grinned and felt someone's eyes on me. I didn't dare look around for fear of losing my calmness. I just hoped it was silver and he would let me in the career pack. I grabbed another knife but it was different. A thinner blade with a yellow stripe on the handle. I launched it at the target without a second to think about if there even was a target in that direction.
Luckily a target popped up at the last second and the knife caught pushing the target back into its slot in the ground. I grabbed the last knife and sent it gliding through the air at another target.
Klo Reivier rolled 3 dice to "Throw Knife" 6,7,8 (1 successes)
I grinned and turned to the trainer for further directions.

Jace Colton
He was paying attention. Studying the fruits and berries and poisonous plants. No touching them. Not yet. Sometimes even touching something could be poisonous. Like poison oak and poison ivy. Jace had always been a listener rather than a talker, believe it or not, and he studies the variations of the apples and other fruits that had proven poisonous in the 20th Arena.
Certain shapes. Certain leaves. And if they don't look the way you think they should. Everything they ate that didn't come from one of their packs would need to be studied before they put it in their mouths.
"So if you don't recognize it, or if it looks 'different' than your expecting, or if the animals aren't eating it, it's probably smart to leave it be."
He looks at the trainer.
"Are there signs we can look for to know whether the animals are eating it? Teeth marks or chew marks or whatever?"

Tank: Tree Course station "Very good." The trainer said to Tank, nodding approvingly. "You are very strong, so climbing up something stable is a good option for you. Now come to the next tree and I'll show you something."
He indicated a tree that had a small metal piton placed in it at about knee height. Nate showed Tank a small mallet and a bag of pitons. "Because of your size, the branches may be too thin to support your weight without breaking." He bagun to explain. "Placing these pitons when you have a few minutes would help get you up a tree or perhaps a cliff- something that the piton can have a good placement. Would you like to try placing them?"
Klo: Throwing weapon station
"Good," The trainer nodded, pressing a button to cause the targets to cease thier movement. "- that was good. One thing to consider is to take your time to consider your placement. Throwing knives and axes are something that seldom kill an opponent in one blow. The first throw is something that should weaken or at least slow your opponent. If you miss on your first throw, all you do is alert your opponent- and possibly have given them your weapon."
She turned, giving Klo her full attention. "Do you have any questions? Would you like to try the throwing axes?"

Jasmine Coverfield, District 11 Female
Jasmine made a face, watching the trainer working on the knot. She was sure it was incredibly simple and easy if you knew how to do it. The simple fact was, she didn't. After a good five minutes she'd replicated the strangle knot.
"Yeah... is there a secret to makin' tha' a bit easier? An' how's it utilized?" Jasmine asked, holding up her completed, though slightly shoddily formed, knot.

I let her words set in. She was right. I needed more than one blow to knock them out. I shook my head. There were more important stations that I needed to go to. "Im fine. Thank you for helping me." I smiled. I eyed the Edible Plants and Medicinal Plants station. A couple tributes were crowded around. Oh what the heck? It wouldn't hurt to learn a couple tips. I turned back to the trainer.

Jasmine: Knot tying station
"The easiest way to do it is not to overthink it." He advised. "Undo the knot you just made. Go ahead." He encouraged at any reluctance. "It will be easier to make the more that you practice it. You'll be able to make it more quickly in the arena."
He loosened his own knot, unraveling it as well. The trainer proceeded to demonstrate the knot again, slowly and pausing at each step until Jasmine was at the same point that he was. "You're already improving." He stated, reaching over and testing Jasmine's knot. "Now this is used to make a strangle snare." He explained. "You can place this in a variety of places as it tightens on what passes through it."
He passes his hand through the snare, demonstrating how it tightens around his wrist. "It will tighten around the neck or body of game if you place it next to a game trail. It can also be used to snag someone's foot. If you add a little slack and drape it over a nearby branch or high surface, you could catch someone up into the air. Would you like to practice for game or for snagging people, right now?"

Rory, Jace & Femra: Edible & Medicinal Plant station
"Whenever you find a thicket of blueberry bushes or perhaps an orchard, I advise staying away and observing it. Look for animal tracks leading towards it. Bees and birds feeding from the flowers are good signs. You can also notice when some of the fruit has been partially eaten. If theres no dead animals near by, chances are it is safe."
The trainer replied to Jace.
Klo: Throwing weapon station
"Excellent. Then you are free to choose another station and I wish you luck." The trainer replied to Klo. Klo now had the whole training center open to her. Which station would she choose next?

Tank: Tree Course station
Tank nodded, taking a cold metal piton and the mallet from the trainer. Eying the trunk of the tree with care, Tank gently placed the piton against the bark with one hand... and promptly slammed the mallet into it, driving the piton deep into its surface.

Thrall moved around the edge of the huge room, watching the other tributes at work. He stared at the stations for a while, and wandered towards the archery station. His fingers ran hopefully over the bows. They were infinitely more complex than the ones that he was familiar with.
He stared for a while, not moving, and then picked one up, turning it over in his fingers with slow patience.

For the moment at least, Kale ignored the other Tributes as she moved into the training room. There would be time to assess their capabilites in the ring later; her more immediate concern was brushing up on her own skills or learning brand new ones that would help her once she was inside and fighting for her life.
The young girl wandered over to the edible and medicinal plants zone.
"Hey," she greeted.

Femra District 8 Female
I made sure I gathered all the information the trainer told us. I was so intent on listening. I wasn't going to die by a silly mistake. It felt as if the trainer talked for hours. Just as I thought the speech was about to end, a girl walked up.
"Hey, I'm Femra." I told her, extending my hand.

Jasmine Coverfield, District 11 Female
Jasmine took a deep breath and unraveled the knot. She went slowly through the motion of recreating the knot under the tutelage of the trainer. She looped her knot around her wrist, mirroring the trainer, and tightened it. She smiled when it held. It'd only taken her four tries to have it stick. She carefully loosened it again and removed it from her wrist and returned it to the table. She turned around and studied the game trail.
Knowing how to fashion the snare to tie up humans would, undoubtedly, be incredibly useful in the Arena. She could fashion it to strangle someone, kill them outright possibly, or tangle them up so it'd be easier to shoot them. Or even to slow someone down if she led them through a place she'd laden with traps. But she needed to eat too, and somehow she doubted there would be fruit trees with plenty to eat in the Arena.
"I wanna learn both, but... let's start with game snares."
