To the north east was an immediate structure. It was a darkened building of wood and steel, appearing massive with three stories. It was dotted with streaked windows. A wire fence marked a yard, a strong looking gate hung ajar. No doubt someone could set the fence and try to survive. Immediately behind the factory was a stair case leading down, out of sight. Something hummed down there; something that sounded like electricity.

As Lily approached the Factory, up ahead was a gate wide open. In spite of her panicked state, Lily noticed a large lock hanging from it. Yes, all she had to do was lock the gate up and she'd be safe to calm down and come with the next course of action. As she pushed on the large gate, it slowly started moving towards the fence, the remaining gap growing smaller and smaller as she diverted her attention to the lock.
Sounds that were all too close made her look up as she observed her Alliance running towards her, the Careers hot on their heels. What remaining reason she had left rose up to do battle with her fears as one half of her wanted to slam and lock the Gate shut right there and just continue running. Lily stood there frozen, unsure what to do...

Eclypse saw Brass' pursuit and took off to aid his alliance. He had poor footing and stumbled on the initial jog, falling well behind the column of tributes. Eclypse rolled 1 dice to "Chasing Sass and co on a chance die" 8 (1 successes)
Coral spotted the pursuit and shouted- "Faster! Run! They're coming!" to Felix and Sassinak. Sassinak kept hold of Felix's arm, steering him towards the factory. Blinded, Felix stumbled several times but managed to keep moving. Coral, with her apprehension and glances back towards Brass and Eclypse, was the one who fell furthest behind. Sassinak and Felix crossed the fence into the factory yard. "Keep running straight!" Sassinak encouraged Felix, letting go of his arm. She reached for the lock around the fence, looking anxiously back at the three running tributes. "Lily." panted. Her face was beginning to pale, blood dripping from her empty sleeve. "Can you help me lock the gate once Boomer and Coral are in? Where is Boomer?" Sassinak rolled 8 dice to "Foot chase" 8,9,1,9,1,5,9,8 (5 successes) Coral rolled 7 dice to "Footchase" 1,6,5,6,8,2,2 (1 successes) Felix Grayling rolled 5 dice to "Stanima + Athletics -1" 5,2,10,4,1,8 (2 successes)

With one gate already ready to be closed, Lily dashed to the other one and started dragging it into position, grateful that the big heavy lock simply needed to be clicked into place and the Careers would thus find themselves hard pressed to get in.
"Move it!" Lily snapped at the incoming members of her Alliance. If Brass got through, they were all dead. Lily was more than prepared to close the Gate on anyone who didn't get through in time, no matter who it was.

Boomer, District 5 Male Boomer felt sick. He'd found Lily, took off after her as she raced toward the factory. She was faster than he was, but seeing the big career lent fire to his steps and he pounded the ground harder than he ever had before. He threw the bag he'd claimed at the bloodbath through the gate and skidded to a halt near Lily, hands gripping cold metal. "We close this... we close it soon..." he said, his voice shaky. "If he's determined, it might not stop him long... we need.. need a distraction." He looked up. Brass, despite the arrow in his leg and a fresh knife in his back was gaining on the trio running to join them. "MOVE IT! MOVE IT FASTER!" he screamed in desperation. If that bloodied, and it didn't look like all of it was his blood, tribute got much closer he'd urge to close the gate and leave those outside with him as a distraction. Brass Power, District 2 Male Brass grunted as the knife hit his shoulder. But it was more a mild irritant than a decent distraction from his prey as he pushed through the pain and sprinted on after them. They weren't getting away. He was certain for that. Not all of them at least. He was going to make sure at least one fell. He put his all into chasing after the group, passing Coral and coming up behind Felix, and brought his sword around in an arc for the back of his legs. Not a killing blow, but hamstringing him would certainly keep him from running further. "No more running for you," he said, his voice eerily calm. "Maybe for your friends, but not you."Brass Power rolled 9 dice to "Chasing the 7's +wp" 9,8,6,1,1,6,3,9,10,3 (4 successes) Brass Power rolled 7 dice to "Hamstringing Sass" (9-again) 8,1,3,9,1,6,10,7,7 (3 successes) Brass is still half-swording putting total damage done to 5, and his defense at a 2.

Lily hesitantly drew a throwing knife from the bundle she had managed to retrieve, watching for an opening as Brass ran closer and closer to the Gate. "Get ready to push it shut." Lily said to Boomer and Sassinak. "Hopefully with our friends on this side." As an opportunity presented itself, Lily sent the throwing knife whizzing through the air... Lily Zelle rolled 9 dice to "Knife Toss + Will" 2,5,3,4,9,9,6,8,9 (4 successes)
Dex 5, Athletics 4, Speciality 1, Knife (1), Def (-3), Called Shot (-2) Will (+3) ...and gulped as it thudded into Brass' right boot. For better or for worse, she'd made her choice now. Joining the Careers was no longer an option to her.

"Felix!" Sassinak screamed, anguished. She wasn't leaving Felix. Seeing her dearest friend harmed enraged the young woman. Coral's borrowed chakram in hand, Sassinak threw the disc with a prayer that it would maim Brass as he had maimed her friend. Sassinak rolled 5 dice to "Chakram attack to Brass' eyes [wp]" 5,1,8,3,10,5 (2 successes) "Sevens' coming back." bit off. "Coral, if you'd carry Felix inside, you can have your pick of my sponsor gifts." For a fraction of a beat, Coral hesitated. Yet Brass' two allies were still yards away... Coral leaped forward, grabbed both of Felix's arms and dragged him towards the gate. Once they reached the gate, Sassinak grabbed Felix's 'less wounded' leg with her good arm. "Go ahead and lock it." She encouraged Boomer and Lily.

Running while blind? Felix wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, but in the situation, he had no choice. He held onto Sassinak, allowed her to guide him. The bizarre feeling of air brushing past his face and feet pounding the ground with no vision of the surrounding area was extremely off putting. Sassinak’s eyes had become his own, eyes that he had no control over at all. Felix felt himself lose his footing on multiple occasions, but he felt that he was doing relatively well.
The slash across his leg came from nowhere, and searing, hot pain shot through his entire body. “MOTHER F***ER!” Felix screamed out in pain, falling to the ground. So now he was blind. And couldn’t run. Sure, these odds were so fair. Felix cursed multiple times until Brass’ words sunk in.
It snapped.
“AT LEAST I WILL DIE LOVED! SASSINAK CARES ABOUT ME, MY FAMILY CARE! YOU THINK ECLYPSE OR ANY OF THOSE PAMPERED BASTARDS WILL COME RUNNING TO YOUR AID WHEN MY FRIENDS DESTROY YOU!?” Felix had gotten past anger, past pain. Brass disgusted him, Brass made Felix feel physically sick. Felix hated Brass. "You'll go to hell, haunted by everyone you've ever tortured and killed. But I'll see my brother again, and that's all I've ever wanted!"
As Coral lifted him up, any shred of dignity Felix had left after everything crumbled to dust. Relying on someone to see he could have dealt with, but Brass had taken away movement as well. He slumped feebly. “Let him kill me...” Felix muttered through clenched teeth, completely unaware of the goings on around him, “Let him kill me and you can all get away safe. Just, leave me, Sass. Be safe. I can’t put you through anymore trouble.”
Whether Felix meant his words or not, he didn’t know. Maybe he was just trying too hard to be brave, as usual.

Sassinak gently lowered Felix's wounded leg and slammed the lock shut, locking the main gate.
"Felix, its going to be all right. We blinded Brass." She whispers the words to Felix as though she is still in shock herself. She half stumbled as she picked up Felix's injured leg. Coral gave Sassinak a worried glance and picked up Felix by the shoulders.
"We're heading inside with Felix." Coral shared with Boomer and Lily. "I think that there is another gate around back..." She whispers the last, with a meaningful look to the careers at this gate.
Bogart smashes into the gate, striking the fence angrily. The metallic sound rings over the yard to Felix and Brass. A metal striking metal sounds as he bashes the lock with the hilt of his sword. No effect. Another angry strike and a small mark is scored against the lock. He crows.
"I'm going to get in there!" He vows to those hiding within the yard. A hand touches Brass' shoulder. "Brass?" Bogart inquires worriedly. "The little ones locked themselves within the fence. I'm going to have a run around to see if theres another way in."
"Go ahead." Eclypse pants from Brass' left. "I'm here, Brass. There will be medical kits at the Corncuopia." A hand is placed on Brass' back. "How about we head back and get you sorted out."

Lily Zelle rolled 1 dice to "Initiative" 2 Another gate? The overly familiar chill ran down Lily's spine as the fear of what the Careers would do to them if they got in hit her. Without another word she turned and ran as fast as her legs would carry her towards the back of the Factory. As she rounded the corner of a building she saw a moving figure on the other side of the wire fence and her heart skipped a beat. Somehow she made it there first, slamming the Gate closed and locking it seconds before it was too late. Lily panted to catch her breath, giving her competitor a satisfied smirk. "Next time, try running faster."

"Felix, its going to be all right. We blinded Brass."
A cruel smile spreads across Felix’s face, and in that second images flashed across his blind eyes. Brass lying in a pool of blood. Himself, Sassinak, Coral, Lily, Boomer, Ember, Jan, Isolde and Jasper all standing around the career, brandishing their weapons. Felix’ axe fall down on Brass’ neck, and with harsh crack the boy’s head disconnects from his body.
Sassinak’s stumble causes the image to fade away, and for a moment he feels disgusted by himself. “Sass,” He croaked sternly, “Don’t you dare hurt yourself trying to help me. We need to treat your arm now.” The searing pain in Felix’s leg is difficult to ignore, but his worry for Sass’ health allowed him to keep a level head.
“Thank you, Coral.” Felix’s tone is completely sincere, and his gratitude shows through his entire face. If his eyes hadn’t been mutilated by Brass’ sword, they would have had a light to them. But they’re dark pits of pain which Felix couldn’t even move. “Thank you.”
He still feels like a burden.
“Who blinded Brass?” He asked, the satisfaction coming through his words clearly.

"I did, " Sassinak abandoned Felix's leg and moved to stand next to Felix's head. She caught Coral's eye and continued. "- with Coral's borrowed chakram." Coral dragged Felix up towards the factory, dragging him up three stairs. It hurt, but Felix was in a range of pain already. Sassinak stayed at Felix's head, opening the door for Coral. Sassinak peeked within the factory before permitting Coral to pass with Felix. "Its a dingy, dark factory. Lots of tools and junk around." She reported, stepping into the factory. "There are three work benches in the main room, covered in junk. There are some ... machines..." sounded unsure what type of machines these were. District seven didn't have many machines. "There is a stair case that leads upstairs. There are two doors, facing each gate. Two windows flank each door." Sassinak takes a seat on the ground beside Felix, holding her good hand against her wound. She hisses with pain between her teeth. Coral ripped a piece of cloth from her pant leg, making half capris. She sat down across from Sassinak and worked to stop the bleeding. "Does any one have medical training?" She asked. Coral rolled 4 dice to "Medicine (binding arm)" 4,2,5,10,8 (2 successes)

Felix beams and nods. “With one arm, you blinded the biggest, baddest psychopath in the Arena,” He said loudly, almost lovingly, “Sass, you never cease to amaze me.” He grins towards the sound of his district partner’s voice, before bracing himself for the pain that will come from Coral dragging him into the factory.
He clenches his teeth, squeezes his eyes shut – well, completely shut, seeing as they’re still pretty much closed – and tries desperately to ignore the pain. It’s not until he’s set down that he lets out a long, pained sigh.
“Machines..?” Felix muses, “Maybe Boomer knows. The workbenches should come in handy though.”
He hears Sassinak’s sharp breath before Coral asks who has had medical training.
“Sass and I were at the medical station the first day of training. And I learned a lot out in the forest; when kids are working with axes there’s a lot of injury.” He informs Coral. “We treat Sass first. My leg’s fine,” He lies through gritted teeth, “We need to stop the blood flowing. You need to tie something above the wound, and tight. No blood can be allowed to pass through.”
Felix reaches towards his district partner, resting his hand on what he assumes is her shoulder, giving it a squeeze. “We can’t have you passing out on us. This is going to hurt, though...” He waits for her response before continuing.
“Go to a work station, keep the stump elevated, she can’t lose more blood. Apply pressure. A lot of it.” He informs Coral, “Describe the cut to me.”

Boomer, District 5 Male They made it. They actually made it. They were messed up... near death, but they made it. He shook his head, avoided looking at the maimed, but alive, District 7 tributes, and moved further into the factory. That buzzing... a live wire somewhere. "Lily, check for another gate, then find where that wire's coming from," he shouted. He looked frantically around for the source of the buzzing. If it wasn't an unfriendly mutt, it might be electricity. And if it was electricity, they could possibly set the entire fence alight. Make it very, very uncomfortable for anyone to touch. "You stay with us, Felix. I'll make you somethin' to help get around.... an' Sass... you don't bleed out on us, I'll fix somethin' to your arm." He set to searching. Boomer rolled 4 dice to "Wits Invest + WP" 2,7,9,4 (1 successes) Brass Power, District 2 Male Brass churned up the dirt in front of him as Coral yanked the fallen Felix away. Felix's words didn't affect him in the slightest. He didn't care what awaited him on the other side, if there even was an other side. He growled and took a step forward as Lily's knife struck his boot. It hurt, and drew his attention away from his quarry for a moment. He looked up and saw the chakram a moment before his world went black. He uttered a loud curse, taking two painful strides forward, sword churning the dirt where he assumed his quarry was. He stopped and listened to the gate slamming shut. Listening, focusing, hunting by sound. He was hurt. He was blind. He was still dangerous. His head snapped to the side as Bogart touched his shoulder. "Thanks for your concern. Go over the damned fence, not around. Anyone else with you?" He panned his head, listening and trying to identify what he could hear. Brass Power rolled 7 dice to "perception" 10,8,6,9,7,8,1,7 (4 successes)

Lily Zelle rolled 4 dice to "Wits/Investigation + Will" 10,1,4,1,6 (1 success) Lily succumbed to a brief moment of petty pleasure by performing a most unladylike gesture in the Gate's direction with her middle finger before she left to rejoin the others. As she approached the gang, she heard Boomer shout to look for the source of the buzzing. "No rest for the wicked..." Lily mumbled to herself, doing as she was told for now. It wasn't like she could help much with Felix and Sassinak's injuries anyway...

"You can't hide forever, little five." Bogart crashed against the fence, reaching a hand through the wire. His fist, near a mans' size, wouldn't quite fit. "Just wait." Bogart smiled, loping into a run to rejoin Brass and Eclypse at the main gate.
"There's another gate on the other side."
"Over the fence. Absolutely." Bogart agreed. The sound of metal links shaking sounded before Eclypse intercepted. "There's barbed wire atop of that fence, Bogart. " Eclypse paused as Bogart continued upwards, by the sound of the metal links shaking. Eclypse's voice was slightly louder as he turned to Brass. "The girls stayed with the horn. Klover's dead. 9 and 12 are doing some damage. Non aggression pact held." Eclypse's voice redirected as he raised his voice to reach up to Jasper. "Bogart, be careful. That can tear you up. Put something on your hands." Theres a startled yelp and a crashing sound beside Eclypse.
"Let me see your hands." Eclypse insisted, hissing through his teeth. "You want to hold a sword? Don't screw up your hands."
Bogart rolled 2 dice to "Athletics (-2 for barbed)" 4,6 (0 successes)
Eclypse sounded annoyed. There was a metallic sound as Eclypse examined the lock. "You dented it with the sword? We can come back with something more effective."
He looked past the gate, watching the girls move the wounded boy into the factory. "Coral is taking the male seven inside the factory. Sassinak is still standing. The two fives are with them. We can..."
A low rumble rolled, booming down from the sky. The light dimmed as clouds, grey and ominous, passed over the sun. A clap of thunder sounded.
"Lets get to the horn. " Eclypse sounded. "Brass said to get over the fence." Bogart said, surly. "You've already ripped your palms open. Go ahead, try again." "You try." Bogarts' hurt tone. "I shall...when I've gone over the gear from Cornucopia. Its not exactly as though the sevens and friends are going to mount an offensive when we're surrounded with armor and weapons. Brass, back me up?"
Those within the factory could see Brass, Eclypse and Bogart at the main gate. Bogart attempted to climb the fence, only to catch one of his hands on the top of the barbed wire. He crashed back down onto the ground.
The buzzing was coming from outside the second gate. A staircase that glinted - metal - led down to a darkened area that couldn't be seen very well from the fenced in yard surrounding the factory. Boomer discovered a cloth mechanics jumpsuit in gray, a full bottle of water (8 oz), a jar of nails, a baseball bat, and a small set of five precision screwdrivers. Lily discovered a small magnetic metal bowl - perhaps useful for boiling water and of course for storing or finding metallic things. Lily also found a helmet with a headlamp that operated with a switch that still worked- useful in this darkening building, now that the light from the windows was fading. There was also a sharp exacto knife, a hammer and a cloth apron in black.
Coral examined Sassinak's arm. "I am applying pressure..." She shared. ""The cut is mostly clean. He did it in one move. We need to clean it, don't we?" Coral wondered. ""It keeps seeping blood."
"I'm fine." Sassinak protested. Her words were slightly slurred.

“I present to you the victors of the #25th Hunger Games! From district seven, Rory Noland, Rowan Creed and Tank... From district eleven, Jasmine Cloverfield and Sorrel Lore!”
District seven erupted in cheers. Families hugged and cried and laughed and cried some more. Even the Peacekeepers looked happy... or maybe there were just surprised. The cheering didn’t stop, and people began to chant “Rory! Tank! Rowan!” while others shouted in disbelief; “THREE VICTORS!!!” Inhabitants hurled their belonging into the air, screaming in gee. Men drank, women drank, children drank. Everyone was filled with an ecstatic joy that could not be crushed.
Felix was among the cheering crowd. He had been watching, fearing for Aurora, Rowan and Tank. At first he hadn’t cared, but they’d made it so far, all three of them. Felix danced with girls, drank and had the most fun he could remember having. His cold and abrasive front collapsed for that night, shattered by the patriotic pride that had come over him. The past two Games had inspired an overwhelming amount of hope in the inhabitants of District Seven.
It was two drunken hours layer that Felix finally noticed the absence of his brother Alder. Staggering, Felix looked for him in the down, and eventually found enough sense to look in the forest.
“Alder!? ALDER!? C’mon, don’t be such a spoil-sport. KILLJOY!” Felix was laughing, shouting into the forest in search of his brother.
The hilt of the axe hit him straight in the face.
“The hell!?” Felix fell to the ground, hit with a mixture of dizziness and drunken dizziness. The face of his younger brother appeared before him. “Alder? What the... What?”
“I need to start practicing.” The young boy stated simply. “Get up and fight me!”
“What are you saying!?” Felix couldn’t for the lie of him understand his brother’s words or actions, “Start practicing for what!?”
“The Games. We all have to. Seven’s gonna get singled out, everyone will be gunning for us every Games after this one!”
“Alder, go back to the party... We don’t have to think about this...”
“What if it’s me next year? Or you? Or Birch! None of us will be able to handle ourselves. Rory, Tank, Rowan, even Conrad, they were lucky.” Alder dropped the ace, tears running down the young boy’s face. “Please... Train with me. I can’t lose you or Birch.”
Felix sat up, slightly sobered, “Alder, we won’t practice. I won’t do that to you. If one of us is reaped next year, we’ll win it ‘cuz we’re Graylinhs. Those Careers ain’t got nothin’ on us.”
“Promise? Promise me. Promise we’ll win.”
“Promise.” Felix shakes the memory off, not being able to face that fact that he was going to break that promise. His hands are holding his leg tightly as he tries to straighten it. Pain surges up the leg and he makes a grunt, stifled by his clenched teeth, as he continues to press down hard. He knows that it needs treatment, so do his eyes, but at the time Sassinak’s is the most important. They have to fix her up first. Felix would never forgive himself if she dies because they were too busy treating him. “You’re not fine.” Felix says, before speaking to Coral again. “It needs sterilising. I don’t s’pose anyone got a medkit back there. Boomer! Lily!” Felix calls over to the fives, “Anything we can use? Something to clean the wounds, and some fabric would be nice. I’ll need a sturdy plank of wood or something to keep my leg in place when we come to it.” He inquires. He is worried about Sassinak’s slurring; she has to be quite close to losing consciousness. “We need to keep the wound from bleeding. Good thing it’s a clean cut, then. If you have any rope it would come in handy, if not rip some clothing and tie it really, really tight to stop the blood flow.”

"I found a small knife outside and a cloth apron we can cut up for bandages." Lily informed Felix, sitting cross-legged on the floor as she did so. "Just let me know what size to make the strips."
She put the other gear in the backpack for now. She could reveal that to the others later on once the immediate concern was sorted out. A quick search of the current contents of said backpack revealed 20 foot of rope as well.
"I got rope too." Lily piped up, pulling it out and sitting that on the floor as well.
Sassinak was starting to look rather bad... as was the results of having teamed up with Felix in the first place. He was blind, Boomer didn't exactly look combat worthy and Coral was probably the only person with equal or higher chances of making it out of the Games to herself - which didn't reassure Lily much either. Nevertheless, the Careers weren't going to offer her the chance to join them now after what they did to Brass, and her odds of survival were better staying with her current group regardless of their present condition.
What they could really do with now was some gifts from their sponsors, but would anyone pledge any money to them given their run of luck so far?

Coral accepted the rope and quickly worked as Felix advised, tying off Sassinak's arm. It was a tourniquet that only used two feet of rope. She handed the surviving eighteen feet of rope back to Lily. Coral was investigating Sassinak's stump for a minute, judging the continued bleeding. "We need a fresh bandage for Sass." Coral decided. Seeing the apron in Lily's hand, she happily decribed in how to cut it to fit Sassinak's arm. "Lily, let me know when you have the bandages cut." "Plenty of fabric." Coral sounded relieved. She took the strap of the apron and approached Felix. She examined his eyes with a frown. After a quick clean up that pained Felix some, Coral made a padded bandage. She placed it over Felix's eyes and tied it on in a bandana with the strap from the apron. Once Lily had created bandages, Coral returned to Sassinak. With Lily's help, Coral was able to change the bloody bandages that had already been soaked through. She was also able to tie a tighter knot with the rope and pad the stump with cloth. "Look at that." Coral sounded pleased. "The bleeding has stopped. Sassinak? Lie on back. Take a break." Coral rolled 6 dice to "First aid on Sassinak's arm" 5,1,10,9,10,8,3,2 (4 successes)

Boomer, District 5 Male
Boomer dug through bits of debris, tossing aside most of what he deemed to be useless. He kept a handful of items, though nothing quite significant enough to actually make something. Yet. In time, he could fashion things, deadly things even. But it wasn't what he sought. Right now, he wanted to make something to help Felix get around, which meant he needed wheels, or a long stick to fashion into a crutch.
He returned as the tourniquet was applied to Sass's stump. He turned green at the sight and immediately looked away. "Found a few things... these can be used for more bandages..."
He offered the mechanic's jumpsuit to be cannibalized... even if he didn't want to.
Brass Power, District 2 Male
Brass twisted his head as Eclypse spoke, fixing a sightless gaze on the District 1 boy. He ignored Bogart's failed attempt at climbing over the barbed wire. If the boy was stupid enough to tear his own hands up at the top... well, Brass wasn't going to stop him.
"They're not going anywhere for the moment. Back to the horn," he orders. He reached out, groping for a moment before settling it on Eclypse's shoulder. "I can walk fine, but knowing direction is a little difficult. Lead the way."

As the tributes within the factory tended their wounded, a boom of thunder sounded. This was followed by a bright green fork in the sky. The most unusual color for lightning as it was sickly green tinged with mustard yellow. The green cast was taken up by the dark rain clouds that now loosed its big, fat droplets onto the earth. The water pounded against the metal roof, making a loud and constant music. The ground outside quickly became spotted with puddles of water with a green tint. An unusual bad smell was carried on the air.
The factory became very dark as the clouds overtook the sun. The machines within the factory now seemed ominous in shades of black and gray, with fingers or arms that stretched towards you. The cluttered tool benches and floors now seemed a menace with only Lily's thin headlight cutting a path through the thickening darkness.

Lily rummaged in the backpack next to her and immediately pulled out the headlamp, donning it quickly as she looked cautiously around the darkened room.
"Oh god, what is that awful smell?" Lily covered her nose, grimacing in distaste as she looked at the others for an answer.

Boomer Boomer wrinkled his nose, looking around and deciding he was very glad he was indoors... despite all the shadowy, scary machines at his back. He sniffed the air again. It that wasn't normal rain, he realized as a little tidbit of information tickled his brain stem. "Don't go outside in that. I think it's acid, an' if its anything like the crap that gamemakers have thrown at tributes before, it'll make Brass look like a fuzzy kitten," Boomer said. "Bright side is we're safe from the careers while it's falling."Unless they got some gear that let them move through the rain. You can’t care about them.
Alder’s voice was so clear and so loud that Felix was tricked momentarily into believing that his brother was right next to him. Felix frowned, and made a choking noise as Coral started to treat his eyes. The voice in his head kept him occupied, however, as Felix tried to understand what his subconscious was telling him.
These were the Hunger Games, and he was losing them. Being blind and immobile meant he was literally useless, fully dependent on the other tributes in his alliance. How could he not care about them? But then something else inside of him said that he shouldn’t... No, that he couldn’t. But he already cared far too much about Sassinak, and Coral’s huge display of loyalty never seemed to be ending. Lily and Boomer were also doing all they could to help him out. Felix couldn’t just not care about them.
He smiled as Coral pressed the cloth over his eyes. “I guess I don’t look so scary now, right?” He could only imagine the horrific sight his slashed eyes must have been. “There’s just my-” Felix’s words were silenced by the crash of thunder overhead.
The smell was putrid, disgusting and revolting. “Acid!?” Felix blurted out in horror. “At least we have shelter. And like you said, Boomer, the Careers most likely won’t be moving through this. But we’ll need to eventually. They know our exact location.” He turned his attention to Coral – or who he thinks is Coral as long as she hadn’t moved.
“There’s just my leg we need to stabilise. Then you can rest. Thank you again, Coral.” He said slowly, before pushing his leg out completely straight with a large groan. “It need to be kept straight... Ugh, clean it a little and the apply tight bandage. It’ll have to do until we get medicine.”
Felix could feel sick rising up in his throat from the combination of the blazing pain in his leg and the putrid smell of the acid.

Coral rolled 6 dice to "Medicine +1" 4,8,3,5,3,6 (1 successes) Coral rolled 6 dice to "changing bandages" 7,9,1,9,3,5 (2 successes) "Not a great result..." Coral hedged. "- but hopefully someone will send us a first aid kit soon and I can try again. Felix, let me know if you start to feel worse.""Lily, a little help?" Coral requested, moving to a nearby bench. She began moving things about in search of a brace for Felix's leg. She came up with a wheel six inches in diameter, two pieces of pipe, the motor from a power drill and a wooden box. Taking the longest pipe, Coral used the bandages to fasten Felix a brace. It took several minutes to fasten it properly. She took the baseball bat that was found earlier and pressed the handle into Felix's hand. "Does this help you?" She took a seat beside Felix. "I'm not sure what our plan should be once the rain breaks."There was only the steady breathing and slight smell of lavender from where Felix had last heard Sassinak. The day had been eventful for a lumberman's daughter and she seemed to have dozed off.
